Kathy told me last interviews are March 19 (i think) and decisions will be sent out around April 1, just FYI! I know it's a long wait but hang in there, it will come before you know it! 👍
Trying to find housing is kind of a PITA. Sent out a lot of emails, and have been contacted by one person... Who I should add has serious breed restrictions 🙁 even though Danes aren't on the list he said it would likely be a no go 🙁
But, I will shamelessly plug that me and Rainheart may potentially be looking for another roomie... Anyone interested?
I've been having one heck of a time as well! Although I'm moving next month, so at least I can try to hit up the summer sublets! The one person who got back to me had breed restrictions too, I had to convince her my mastiff wasn't mixed with a pit bull...what an interesting mix that would be...
Oh cool, your moving super early!! I wish I was moving sooner but I've gotta work and save some $$$$
Yah I'm moving early cause I got a job out there. That way I'll have already made the money to become a resident. No way would I have moved if I didn't have work out there!
That's awesome! Man I wish I could do that are you working in a clinic somewhere?
Nope, I got into the Veterinary Research Scholars Program there (http://www.cvm.missouri.edu/vrs/). I'll be working on either Coxiella burnetii pathogenesis or vaccine development against Q fever. I AM SO EXCITED!

Congratulations! I am really jealous! I didn't find out about the program until 2 weeks after the deadline and I still hadn't heard from my IS school at that point, anyway. Grrr.
Well there's always next year! Then you'll get in state residency too! I don't think you missed out on a whole lot!

I know, but it would have been nice not to worry about finding a job to get that in-state residency money that I have to make!
You can do it next summer after first year, that's when the majority of people do it anyway! when youve gotten to know the professors and who you might want your mentor to be, etc.

I'm just worried I won't make all the $2000 in the summer- I'd like to work maybe one a week during class just in case. But, even so, I'd prefer to just work over the summer so I can focus solely on classes.
Well, if you get into the VRSP program for next summer, you make more than $2,000 (I think something like $4500). Even if you decide not to do VRSP, $2,000 isn't a whole lot of money, you could very easily make that in a summer! I think even at my minimum wage job I make more than $2,000 in two months, you can do it!
My job at my current vet's office, I think I made about $3000 some dollars during the summer and breaks. So, I am kind of worried that I'll only have 3 weeks. My vet's office is really cheap and I don't even make double digits yet an hour and I've been there over 5 years.
Dr. Guoquan Zhang...I haven't heard any good or bad things about him at all. Any opinions would be awesome (PM me!). Thanks! Who's yours?

Still debating with myself, but thanks all for the advice. I am relieved to hear that it is not net pay that is being counted, so that will help!
don't quote me on that, just my understanding based on what I read here:

no you are right! $2000 before taxes 👍

ohhh YEAAA (HAPPY DANCE)
Hey Krist- is it possible to get a job in the teaching hospital Before classes start?
also, my understanding is that support from people out-of-state is okay and won't hurt getting residency, right?
What do you mean?
Ohio State explicitly said that you can't have any financial support from anyone outside of Ohio (so parents/aunts/whoever can't chip in for tuition or a bit of rent or anything). Don't remember hearing anything about Mizzou like that, but just want to make sure.
just checked the website. this is not mentioned anywhere! I guess I got it mixed up the it was Ohio that required this, but not Miz!
good! glad you're finding the same info as me.

I started worrying about that too, so I emailed the residency folks to confirm. I'll let you all know when I hear back.

Awesome!!! Where did you put in your application?
My love for Mizzou was reinforced last night at the Men's SEC basketball tournament!! We sat in a section full of Mizzou fans, it was INCREDIBLE! I can't wait to be an official student at Mizz!
