Mizzou C/O 2028

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
See you there! If our interview is after lunch can we check in later in the day, or should be we there for the morning?
Afternoon registration starts at 12p and goes till 6p. So you can check in then! Tours will run 8:30-5p and there is a lunch, admissions q+a/update and student q+a 12-1:30p. So I would highly recommend coming for that 😊

If our interview is super early around 8:30am, what time would you suggest arriving? 10-15min before?

We’ll have students at the registration table as early as 7am. We hand you your name tag and escort you right to the waiting room. 15 minutes early should be just fine, but feel free to come as early as you need.

Are they still aiming for the end of feb?

Is this just for in-person interviews? My interview is on Zoom tomorrow at 11:30 am

I'd say mid-end February. Interviews this year for you guys started about 2 weeks earlier than ours did last year so we found out 1st week of March so mid February is my best guess taking into account how early they got going!

I can’t make the zoom meeting on 2/8. Would anyone be able to give me an overview of what was talked about?

The 8th will be an ambassador led student q+a. So ya'll can bring us questions (literally anything, this is a raw and brutally honest q+a) no faculty just students so anything you want to know we will try and answer. If you miss it, no worries just shoot me a message with any questions you have!

Your interview scores will be finalized by the committee by Feb 5th. It’ll take a week or 2 to do all the calculations and send it to the dean for approval. So expect anywhere from February 15th to the end of Feb

You really have been so helpful throughout this whole process! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to interview in person due to financial restraints, but if I’m admitted I’d absolutely love to meet you and thank you for being such a kind and reliable source throughout this application cycle! Thanks again for everything so far :)

That's so sweet of you! ❤️ I truly hope I've brought some reassurance, motivation and valuable info throughout this INCREDIBLY stressful time that truly is only understood by current vet students or other applicants. Your family might say they do but they really don't fully get it, so I hope I gave that support, was just in your shoes last year at this time so trust me, I get it. Was one heck of an emotional rollercoaster.
Please remember it might sting at first but the waitlist is NOT a bad thing, it does not indicate you are any less deserving of a spot. Each year is different of course but last it moved a good amount for OOS and just looking through last year's thread you can see how many of us were pulled. So if that ends up being the result, it's okay.
I promise to each and every one of you that you will end up exactly where you are meant to be and its not over till its truly over ❤️

If you were unable to attend in person interviews and even if you were I highly recommend trying to jump on for the student and separate faculty zoom sessions. It does not count against you if you don't but it will be a good indication of deciding to attend. I'll be on there as well as other ambassadors so come with any and all questions or concerns

Wishing everyone here the best of luck, I can't wait to meet some of you!!

Just got an email saying I’m on the alternate list. Does anyone know how much that normally moves? Also, congrats to everyone that got in :))

OOS ACCEPTANCE. I'M SHAKING. If any future applicants are reading this, coming out of the interview, I felt strongly that I had bombed it. Stuttering, froze up for several beats multiple times, mixed up words and had to correct myself, accidentally talked over my interviewer and had no answer to a couple questions. I also have a 3.2cGPA.
I have no idea how I got in.

OOS alternative. I emailed and asked if I have a good chance and was given a very vague and uncertain answer. Anyone have insight into how oos waitlist moves? This was my only chance out of 10 schools applied so I'm very nervous 😅

OOS waitlist moves 50-60 spots usually.
IS waitlist moves 1-9 spots with an average of 5.

No matter the email you got today, here to say that I am so proud of everyone in this group. If you did not receive the news you were hoping for today, keep your head up, whether you have other schools you are waiting to hear from yet or you are gearing up for another cycle you all completed something daunting and something that many (unless they actually go through it themselves) will never truly understand. Please, if you didn't receive the news you hoped for or expected today, don't give up if this is what you want. One of my primary motivational, words of advice I give out that was given to me when I was in your shoes, is that, its not IF you get in...its WHEN. ❤️

If you made it on the alternate list, first and foremost I want you to breathe. I know it might sting a little but this is not a no, its more so hitting the pause button. IS waitlists everywhere historically don't move much but its not impossible, the flow is different every year. OOS waitlists move a lot more, and things will spike following the decision day for this year (typically in mid April), but again different every year!

Those accepted, congratulations!!! Now, the tables have turned...you are in the drivers seat and have the power to decide. If you choose Mizzou, yay! and welcome we are SO excited to meet you! If you choose a different program, that is awesome too, cause guess what? You're going to be a doctor regardless of where you end up! I can say that I couldn't see myself anywhere else though and am loving my time here so far...but I'm a little biased :giggle:

Reminder whether you were accepted or placed on the alternate list there is an optional Zoom later today led by student ambassadors for the CVM. Bring any and all questions! If you can make it, I strongly encourage you to hop online, even if its just to sit and listen. I'm sure others on the call will be more than happy as well but my chat is open and if you don't feel comfortable asking a question you are more than welcome to direct message me during the call. We are not going to hold anything back from you and will be honest as we want you to make the best decision for YOU and give you the necessary information to do just that.

Looking forward to seeing some of you again I met at interviews as well as new faces too!
If you can't make it to the zoom, no worries. If you have questions my inbox is always open

M-I-Z!! 🐯

I am first alternate but it’s hard to believe IS applicants will decline their seat

Wooo #1 club!! I’m proud to hold the title of “First Loser” of my class.
I wouldn’t say get your hopes to 100%, but I’d still join all the pages and start gathering plans for housing, etc.
