Applicants who have been admitted have until the April 15 deadline to notify us of their decision to accept or decline the offer. Typically, the college doesn't know if space is available until after April 15. The Faculty Committee on Admissions then assesses the remaining pool of alternate applicants for seats in the class.

It's hard to prognosticate. Every year is different and each side of the pool, resident and nonresident, is different.

Please remain patient. April 15 will be here before you know it.
 
@NCSU CVM so even if people decline prior to the deadline, we won't hear about our position on the waitlist until after April 15th?

We won't act on the waitlist until the total number of outstanding offers falls below 100. Judging on past history, that won't happen before April 15.

I don’t know of anyone, but I think it will be best (albeit hard) to just wait until April 15th. Most people have decisions to make and will probably take the whole time to do so. I am also waitlisted and know how weird of a feeling it creates, but letting go of that control has helped time start to fly by! Best of luck to you!
 
For people who were waitlisted, are you still attending the reception? Trying to decide if I should go or not.

Hey! I don't know if it will help or if you're still even interested, but I'd be more than happy to talk you about what was on my application and what I did if you want to talk through it. I'm so sorry you didn't get in. I was rejected from 2 schools last year so I get how you feel and it sucks ... so I'm sorry.

Historically, some admitted applicants wait until April 15 to inform us of their decision. Therefore, we can't move to the waitlist until after that date. We ask for additional patience this year as staff works remotely.
 
I was accepted this cycle (VERY thankful) after three years of applying but my best friend is on the IS waitlist and I'm almost as nervous for her as I was for myself. Any hint as to when she could hear or approximately how many spots there are? 🙂
 
I just accepted an IS seat at Cornell and will be pulling myself off the waitlist! Hopefully it helps someone else get off the waitlist!
 
Maybe they took yesterday to review and discuss the waitlist and will contact us today? Or Monday?
 
Did anyone else interpret today's email as a waitlisted applicant, that we should plan to wait to hear back closer to June 1st?

My friend who was admitted also got the email, so I think it was sent as a reminder to both accepted and waitlisted people to submit their transcripts.
 
I haven’t received an email! But I completed/submitted all the prereqs, could that be why?

I texted my OOS friend who was accepted and she said she got the email too... 😕 I'm a little confused now.

That was a reminder e-mail for all admitted and waitlisted applicants to have final transcripts submitted by June 1 if you intend to enroll or want to enroll (if offered a seat from the waitlist). It's a mass reminder for all; it's not nuanced for individual situations.
