New York COM (NYIT-COM) Discussion Thread 2016-2017

Can anyone who has interviewed offer some insight on the afternoon interview schedule? What time is the day over with? Trying to book a rental car and return it on time 🙂
 
First time poster on this thread - just thought I'd let people know that I was complete early to mid-September and just (1/9/17) received an email saying "your file is still under consideration." Uplifting and positive tone to the email overall. Not sure that really means anything.
Stats: GPA: 3.7 MCAT: 510 OOS (DC/Virginia)

Side note - they address the email as "Dear NYITCOM future physician," is that a tease or what?!

That's crazy! So cryptic.. But they're giving you something so congrats! So I'm assuming you interviewed already?

I got the same email, but no, I have not interviewed with them, nor received an II. I think this is a "you are still under consideration to receive an II" message.
Encouraging to hear something from them, at least! 🙂

I think the key question is whether or not they have send out rejections Pre-II yet. I was under the impression that NYITCOM did silent rejections. I got the email as well and it doesn't make me feel any better.

I also got the same email and this is nice to see considering that I applied in September and haven't heard anything since (Haven't received a II yet either).

Same, I was complete in August.

I didnt get an interview so I guess I am silently rejected by this school. Oh well
 
Complete first week of December and did not receive any email either. My guess is they're addressing applicants who submitted much earlier than I did. Or they are in fact down to scrutinizing a certain number of apps for IIs. Considering someone from December just got a II, it may be the latter, but ya never know

Honestly, I think it's just people that submitted earlier. I don't think it's for ii potential applicants.

I wouldn't be surprised if they "tier" applicants based on stats and send II's accordingly (based on acceptances/deposits submitted/withdraws/etc.)
 
Just FYI, I was complete late July and didn't get this email. I will be withdrawing my app anyways, but it may actually mean something since not everyone got it. Who knows though.

Accepted this morning but will be withdrawing my application here. Hope it goes to one of you guys 🙄
 
Accepted via email just now! II was on 11/11 at 11am. I knew the hype was real so happy, this was my first choice. Can't wait to meet you all in the fall!

Thanks!! My LizzyM is ~67 balanced between MCAT and GPA. And I am IS. Dont stress too much they're not done interviewing and reviewing people who already interviewed!
 
How much time does the school give for you to place your deposit once you get accepted?
 
Interviewed 12/5 and have been accepted. Im most likely going to attend here anyone know when I should expect the snail mail documents?

I'd also like to know this as the acceptance email says nothing regarding the deposit and I do not want to miss the deadline.
 
Out of curiosity were the people accepted IS or OOS? or was it a mix?
 
Interviewed 12/15, accepted today! I'll be withdrawing though so I hope one of you gets it!!
 
Accepted this morning as well!! :soexcited: IS, interviewed 11/1! Can't wait to get started!
 
Are all of your acceptances for the NY campus or are some for the Arkansas campus?
