Hey All,

Applying to Nova as well!

I already submitted my secondary a few days ago and am just waiting on LOR's. However, I just got a phone call from a Nova representative who said that based on my stats they were going to go ahead and send my application on to the "next phase in the application cycle" but that I would need to send in my LOR's and transcripts. I knew I would need to have my LOR's sent but I didn't realize we needed to send transcripts directly to the school...? Has anyone else gotten a similar call or found any information saying we need to send our transcripts directly to Nova? I submitted my transcripts to AACOMAS and they were received in May.
You need to have transcripts sent to the school, but not right now. After Interviews, if they offer an acceptance, they will want to review your transcripts. Plenty of time to sit tight on those.

Just got my "file complete" phone call as well.

Got my call today! I love that touch! Love this school!

Anyone knows if it's true that they put your application on hold until you re-take the MCAT if you are planing on doing so ???

I'm applying with a decent score, but I'm retaking it in August.
Thanks!

When I asked today they said they don't look at that, they look at your application u sent in and your aacomas ap

Submitted the secondary today. 🙂 Disliked that there wasn't a screen to preview all my answers at once, but oh well...I'm pretty detail-oriented; I think I caught any errors.

You will receive an email with your secondary application attached to it. It will allow you to see your responses and if any formatting errors took place.

Good to know, thanks! Don't think I missed anything...but the comment boxes were so small and it was hard to scroll thru them...

Anyone know how early interview invitations start being sent out?

I submitted my app monday. when will i get a call?

I'm confused about a bunch of stuff here.

1. How soon after submitting primary do you get secondary? I just submitted mine
2. What is this about letters? Doesn't AACOMAS automatically submit your letters for you through interfolio or whatever your school uses?

Aacomas does not send letters, you have to manually send them via interfolio or some other method

I am applying here this cycle and I have a 3.86 overall gpa and a 3.78 science and scored a 23 6ps9v8bs on my mcat. I am a Hispanic Texas resident.

Just got the phone call that my app is being sent to the adcom. Finished and submitted my secondary last night.

what really? How does one even do this then???? I have a committee letter from my school

Get an interfolio account. It costs money but is WELL worth it. Your committee can upload their letter to your account once you give them the interfolio request form. When I applied accomas had a link to interfolio on the last tab.

Your schools should have a subscription to virtualevals and have this done for you. All your committee needs is your AMCAS/AACOMAS id number and there's no extra effort for you.

Okay this is what I thought. Thanks

For whatever reason, I can't get my PIN number and log on to the site to check my app status. Anyone else having this problem? My social wont even bring up my NSU ID like it is supposed to. I already know my ID, but...

The only thing we are allowed to log into is the admissions portal where we submitted our secondary using the login and pin that you created. If you click on the "processed applications" link, you can see what letters they have received and whatnot at the bottom. That's all we can do. Our "N" number doesn't work anywhere.

I seem on another thread are you planning on retaking Mcat? Wish u best of luck but most schools cutoff are 24..

On my Application Summary,

it lists a "Received" date for my Rec Letters but does not have a status.

Does that mean they've received it but haven't processed it?

If it says received with a date they have it. If they haven't received it, it will say processing.

Anyone think they could tell me my chances at an interview here?

CA resident, 3.41 gpa / 34 MCAT, Hispanic, good ECs..

You're kidding, right?

Your GPA is average, MCAT is waaay above average, and above all you are a URM.

I bet $100 that you get into UCR or UCD...maybe UCLA too

I appreciate the love but I kinda think a lot of my MD chances are a little shot by my gpa don't you think?

Nope. Your MCAT makes up for it.

Shoot for UC's. They are definitely within reach. If you genuinely desire the DO route, then you are a shoe-in for ANY school.

For the "how did you learn about osteopathic medicine" question did you guys just give like a one sentence answer or did you actually write like a paragraph about it?

Also, can we list shadowing experiences under the volunteer activities section?

anyone else list the full NSU secondary questions?

I feel like this school is going to be the hardest one to get into due to sheer popularity.

True, but I feel that if you have everything that makes you a good DO applicant (especially a DO letter) and you have at least their average stats from the c/o 2016; then you should be a shoe in for an interview. A lot of high stats people apply to Nova as a backup, especially in FL.

I wonder how many people will choose Nova over LECOM. As time marches on I am becoming more and more aware of the cost differential between these two schools and especially DO vs MD schools.

I would love to interview here and see how I like it though.

I would. With IBR, your monthly payments will be the same regardless of your debt. Besides, the cost differential is only 70K, a drop in the bucket compared to what we'll owe by the end of residency.

hey guys I applied last week. AACOMAS is verified, why no secondary yet/

My MCAT has been on my AACOMAS app since June 26, but Nova has yet to receive it. Any one else having this problem?

I sent in my LORs yesterday through interfolio and received an interfolio email saying that the letters are in NOVAs account. However when I log into my secondary form I can't see whether they have been received or not. I can't find anything talking about LORs. Help?

I just gota call from Nova aasking if I had any questions. I was sleeping so I sounded liked ****. 😳

I didn't do anything for LoRs yet... Oops.

Hope I get in. This school is kick ass.

You might get a generic email saying that they received documents and thanking you for your interest in NSU. Then you will probably see something updated on your form shortly thereafter. Relax, it has only been a day.

hahaha this happened to me too!

if you are taking mcat this summer will they hold your application before making a decision? they said it would be forwarded to the committee all my stuff but if they like you but just need higher mcat score will they put you on the side after reviewing your app and then look at it again after mcat scores are released??

Timeline for mine: AACOMAS application sent on 4 July (Thurs) Secondary sent today (Monday).

That's weird. I sent mine on Wednesday...Well just checked AACOMAS, it's only been submitted to AACOMAS. Nothing has been released (in contract to PCOM, released 7/4?)

submitted my application on the 26th but still no call or anything..... how do we check the status of our app online?

Apparently got an email at 1 in the am that an LoR came in. I might call them to make sure that they have access to all of them and not just one.

Wait what? Sorry may be posting in the wrong place but I submitted my AACOMAS almost 3 weeks ago and it is STILL not verified. Is this normal?

Stupid question but no one that got an interview didn't have a Mcat?
