Crossing my fingers for an email tomorrow.
If not I can always wait

I think they still haven't uploaded my lors after I called them. My portal still doesn't say they have my lors. I think I should probably just give up haha.

Do they look at additional LORs beyond the requirements? My committee letter packet included LORs from 2 science professors, 1 non-science, 1 physician, and 1 from my volunteer position, but only the first 4 show up as received in the application portal.

Yes. They look at all of your letters.

Hey, I think I sat next to you at lunch.

I wonder if the loss of the admissions counselor had anything to do with the high number of WLs?

Haha, nice! Glad to see there were other people from SDN in our interview group

What is the application portal?

After interviewing last Thursday, am completely in love with this school.

For anyone that's curious about the interview, it's SUPER laidback, non-stress and friendly. My interview lasted 10-12 minutes. Which is NOT a bad thing! The doctor(s) that interviewed me really seemed like they loved me, and were so enthusiastic about my responses and my diversity. We were all laughing and having a good time. It felt more like a friendly conversation than an actual interview.
Most of the questions they asked were focused on what was NOT in my application. Although they did ask why I took the MCAT multiple times and what I did different to improve.

Praying I get accepted, although from reading this posts, it seems unlikely that I'll hear back anytime soon 😕

I really hope you get accepted, I really do, but every single person that I spoke to (myself included) felt this way about the interview and the vast majority of us were waitlisted.

My interviewer even said at the end of mine "You seem like a really great fit for NSU and I hope to see you as a student next year."

I really am not trying to rain on your parade at all, but I wanted to share my experience and those of just about everyone from my interview (very first interview for Nova this year) group.

Ditto. But hope you get in!

Parade rained on

I think I might call nova today and see if they have all my stuff. I submitted in July and haven't heard a single thing from them. Every other DO school I applied to has gotten back to me. I just find it weird that it is taking so long.

I completely understand. The interview isn't the "final" say. The admissions committee looks at the entire application along with the interview on a point system.

I am just really praying I get in. I honestly can't see myself at any other DO school. I never felt this way about a school before. I wonder why so many got WL though. 😕

Btw, did anyone get an email saying :
DRESSC
CCONDU
were completed. What is this?

Those were the forms you signed during the interview is all. They just updated your file that they were complete.

Hi All!
I've been waiting to hear back from Nova since I submitted my ii's back in August. I called in yesterday and the operator was really nice, but she told me that my app was still being processed. I did get the call confirming that my ii was received but as of now, I still dont know if its been processed or not. Im still waiting to hear back. Hopefully only good news though! :xf:
Good luck to everyone waiting as well!

Lets do our best this year!!

ii/II = interview invite, not secondary 🙂

May help with browsing other threads..

Hi guys,
Just wondering if there's anybody accepted who has decided that they will in fact be attending NSU. 🙂

Hi, guys! I am new to this forum. I just want to wish good luck to everyone! Nova is my first choice school, actually the only DO school I applied; unfortunately, I still have a pending transcript exemption request from a foreign country institution with AACOMAS, it's taking very long time. I will be very late in the game🙁

I interviewed way back on 9/19 and have gotten no word. I know they told us that day that decisions would be in on our applications by 11/8, but I assumed they were being generous as a way of giving themselves a big of wiggle room. I understand that the recent developments and goings-on regarding their Admissions Office and the AMCAS delay is probably contributing to the delay, but it doesn't make the wait any less excruciating knowing all that 🙁 This process is brutal. Knowing that at the end it will all have been worth it in the form of an acceptance somewhere would be amazing.

I feel ya. Hopefully it comes by November 1st because I need to pay a deposit at another school.

Yeah, I knew the wait would be longer than Nov 1st(I just interviewed last week) so I put my deposit down and if I get in here well there goes 1500 bucks. I hope you fare better and get your decision soon

Don't you have until December 1st to pay the deposit? That is, if it's another DO school, which I assume because of the high deposit.

No, I had until Nov something(first week) to pay for campbell. Because I interviewed and was accepted in August.

same here ! i only interviewed at nova oct 17 so i bet i will have to pay. But our admission lady said on avg it would be around 4 weeks for a decision so I'm praying it comes out in 3 but doubtful. My letter for campbell says the deposit is due by Nov 15 but i got accepted late september.

Its been over a month since I interviewed but haven't heard back anything......I guess the wait just continues

Where are all the II's? Good stats/complete since first week of august and have heard nothing. Starting to hear back from MD schools where I was complete mid-September

Agreed, I'm not at all impressed by this school's admission process. I recently called about the status of my application and was told they are probably reviewing it. What the hell does that mean? Probably, thanks for being specific. I was complete in the middle of July. It is hard to talk to someone competent because of their large bureaucratic set up with many different types of programs. I don't think anyone that I have spoken with knows what the hell is going on.

I feel the same way. I completed my application (AACOMAS) the first day, got the secondary soon after, sent it back the same day. I have heard nothing. I have seen that many people have been getting phone calls to say that their app is complete....I havent heard a thing since July. Should I call?

Yes. Wouldn't hurt

Weird, NSU had a lot of SDN buzz, but lately its been a ghost town here. No one has said they've gotten an II or anything in a while..

Yeah, it seems like forever since the last II was sent out. I hope they start back up soon as I would really like to interview at this school before I have to make a deposit commitment elsewhere. Once the IIs start rolling in the time frame really gets tight :scared:

I think this is week 5 for the Sept 19 interviewees.

if we made a donation to the school, would that magically speed up the acceptance process? :naughty:

Do we know how many students they invite to interview and how many acceptances they hand out?
I know there are 240 seats, but schools usually accept well above their max. seat number.

Honestly NSU is my #1 choice. I turned down ii from schools like DMUCOM, and CCOM for this. Hoping my bold move doesn't bit me in the a** in the end :/

That's a risky move imo, especially with how things are going with this school lately. About 80% of the earlies and finest interviewees were placed on the alternate list. Not sure how it will play out at the end though.

Risky for sure. I would've only done that if you atleast had an II.

I believe close to ~5k apply to NSU. ~600 II's -> 400 Acceptances -> ~240 matriculate.

NSU was known for fast waitlist movement, but last year the WL was quite slow moving.

When was the last time interview invites were given? What day(s) of the week do they usually do such things?

Dunno why they havent extended more iis. Maybe the slowdown means those that interviewed and those on the wait list give them enough? Wishful thinking for us probably
