So I haven't had this option in WebStar since when I completed my app.

Very weird! This is precisely why I said it's not a guarantee. However, chrysanthemum said the undergrad degree field first appeared today, or very recently, so I don't think it's the same situation. I know it definitely did not appear for me until days before I was accepted.

Yes, it only appeared today, I have been checking Webstar every day, lol
 
I can't remember, but does webstar say "current program: dr of osteopathic medicine" and "admission type: dr of osteopathic medicine" before an acceptance? I don't think it did for me.
Borfanos, your webstar looks like mine did after I was accepted. Something is very fishy there.
 
My opinion.... think you are looking too much into this.... my webstar was completed like Borfanos WAY before I was even interviewed. I interviewed early February... called this week and was told a decision will be made "sometime"....lol!

Not sure if it is the same thing, but I've had two "Transcript"'s under my requirements since July with the received dates both filled in and I was waitlisted.
 
I have what Bianca has, and I was put on the alternate list this month. I hope this means I am in!

Kahuku Monkey--that was not there before I interviewed! It must have shown up recently!
 

you are missing the right most column in your picture. It's the status column. Does it say "official" in the status column? I think for the accepted candidate the status says "official"

I have a masters degree I am currently pursuing. It says UNOFFICIAL because that was sent in December with my fall grades. I have a row for my bachelors degree, and the right most column is blank. I would assume it would turn to official once full transcripts are sent in once accepted.

It turns "official" in the status column once you get accepted and they are asking for the official transcripts.

I'm pretty sure mine has said "official" (or at least something other than blank) for a while and I have yet to hear back about my Jan 28 interview
 
Wow. Looks like Nova is all over the place this year. Last year it was easy to know if you were in...just wait two, maybe three weeks after your interview and the clues would begin on webstar Wednesday, followed by the emails on Friday the week of adcom meetings. This year is a GOAT RODEO. I don't know what happened to Anastasia, but she was great...Hope you all get good news soon!
 
Hm you all just made me log in and check. I don't have that row at all, nothing at all about transcripts and I'm an alternate...bad omen?

It's not a bad omen, I really think we shouldn't look for patterns this year, as KahukuMonkey have said, although it' s very tempting. We should all just hope and wait for official news)

When you go to webstar.nova.edu are you clicking on the enter secure area link? I'm having trouble finding the area of webstar that looks like what Borfanos posted. Thanks
 
You know what would be really cool? If NSU sent out monthly updates on how many positions offered, how many filled. That would be so nice to know.

No, no, no. All these medical schools prefer we stress out every day over this and only hope that we go insane. Because this whole process hasn't been stressful at all....lol

Oh I see! It's a test of sorts lol! If you still have hair left by the time you find out the decision, then you MIGHT be suitable to be a doctor.

I agree! I try to focus on doing amazing in my classes this semester instead. It's hard to do, but ultimately this is out of our hands.
 
At least you have school to keep your thoughts somewhat occupied.....I graduated last year so I'm stuck in limbo

Yeah I was wait listed at 3 schools before Nova showed me some love. In total I interviewed at 5 schools (1 MD), and all of them put me on wait list except Nova. I'm not complaining because Nova was my number 1 choice anyways... But it makes me wonder.... Is it me? Do I have bad interview skills?😕 I have time to figure it out before Residency interviews 😉

Do you think its psychotic to send in a second letter, the first was more of a letter of intent, this second one I kind of want to just make myself stand out in an essay that's not so typical. I don't want them to think I am obsessing though.

I remember from my interview day that some people had written 5-6 letters to the adcom and it sounded like they were receptive to these letters. I wouldn't mind sending 5 letters... I just don't know what I would write in letters 3, 4, and 5 without repeating myself or it basically begging "Take Me".

Also, would emailing the letter to the counselor be enough or should it be faxed?

I think sending 5-6 letter will be excessive and showing them that you are desperate. I don't know how much meaningful info you can add to your application as they already know a lot about you. Maybe tell them something relevant that they don't know about you yet and add some updates to show your interest.

Yeah sending more than 2 letters is excessive, besides what else could you possibly say? Nova is receptive to receiving additional LORs... Send as many as you want.
 
Welp I got accepted to MSU COM. Now I would really appreciate NOVA letting me in so I could have a choice between the two. That would be a great problem to have.

That would be so so wrong. That was my first thought when I got a call from MSU. I was like "that's gotta be one of my friends impersonating and admissions counselor".

But what I really want to tell people who are wait listed is that it is doable. MSU initially wait listed me and now I have that acceptance as backup. So hang in there L5CG. It'll work out.

are you a Michigan resident? If so, MSUCOM is a no-brainer.
 
So I had my immunizations done today. My doctor recommends I get an HIV test. His logic is that since I will be working in the hospital, I need
To know my status because what if there was an accident where I was pricked with a syringe that had
HIV in blood, or some patient exposed it to me? He says that by getting it on record before patient exposure, I will know how to deal with it if I accidentally get it exposed during rotations or residency, etc.
But shouldn't I get one one done before rotations start? My doctor recommends I get it now. Is there a difference?

I am a Michigan resident. But I reaaaaallly hate living in Michigan. LOL so it's not that simple of a decision. unless a Detroit campus spot is available.

Right on. I hate when people assume you wanna stay IS for med school...especially Adcom. living in NJ was good, and my friends and family are there... but I'm looking for a new chapter in my life in a new location 😉

Hey guys. So I had my interview on February 25th and I just called Nova today and they told me that the decision has been made and I'll know by the end of this week. I wanted to know if those of you who have been accepted got phone calls? Since I haven't gotten one I'm freaking out and assuming I've been rejected 🙁
