Anybody heard back from UConn AEGD ?
like entirely? that seems odd, whats the source?
I asked during the interview, he said pretty much no stipend, but they're learning more as to any type of compensation.never did an extern/internship at UTSA and only did a virtual interview. haven't heard confirmation of the no stipend thing. at the interview, they said they're still figuring out logistics and would let us know as they learn more.
nope haven't heard back yet 🙁 anxiously waiting lolI asked during the interview, he said pretty much no stipend, but they're learning more as to any type of compensation.
Btw did you hear back yet?
I know someone who has already interviewed and been accepted.Has anyone heard from UF Seminole in regards to an interview offer as of yet?
@ScrappyDoo1012 @taraDNA @dreamydentist were any of you guys able to do an internship or virtual anything at UTSA? Did they double down on the no stipend thing?

Depends on your stats, letters, and all that good stuff. Also someone that applied to 10 VA hospitals which only take 3-4 ppl vs someone applying to 3 programs that take 10-20 ppl.Is applying to 18 programs overkill?
For non match programs, do they typically send acceptances before their deadline / complete all their interview days? Or is it customary to wait until after deadline / all interviews are done before filling up seats
Oh I read that as after each interview. So essentially if the last interview is say early December and a program has been interviewing since September, anyone with an interview stands a chance and wont get screwed since they didn't have an early interview?Usually after all interviews they start offering immediately (with usually not much time to spare), and offer down the list til all spots are accepted
EDIT: List of preferred applicants (most likely ranked)
I cant speak on behalf of all programs but your statement is correct.Oh I read that as after each interview. Yes, right above youAny news on NY Presby methodist, Mt. Sinai, Montefiore, Jamaica Hospital?
NopeHas anyone heard back from Northwell, Jamaica, or Cornell?
When?I know someone who has already interviewed and been accepted.
Has anyone heard from UC Aurora or Augusta GPR?
Anybody interviewed at foundry and heard back from them?
For which one?Someone at my school received an interview invite last week I believe
Dr. McCracken said he will be calling for acceptances 11/3-11/4
Lol I’m interviewing there on the 4th... which is one of the dates he gave me.Dr. McCracken said he will be calling for acceptances 11/3-11/4
For which one?
How did you find out?
Lol I’m interviewing there on the 4th... which is one of the dates he gave me.
That's what he told me in my interview with him
If you asked me a few months ago I would have potentially said yeah 18 is overkill, but now that I know how competitive it is this year I think it was a good move for you to apply to a ton of places. Is applying to 18 programs overkill?
Hey, I'm sorry for all the questions but did you ask him or did he just tell you?
Just got a Montefiore invite this afternoon for 11/11Have you heard about invites from Bellevue, NY Presby Methodist or Cornell, Stony Brook,JAmacia, NYU Langone Brooklyn GPR, Montefiore, mount sinai?
I think it depends on the VA from what I can tell based on where I've interviewed. Some are still only seeing non-elective patients, some are at about 60% capacity on patients but just making it work by having longer appointment times and doing more for one patient each day than seeing multiple patients (since the VA is limiting the number of patients they see), and some are at 100% production seeing patients and just as busy as always. So I think the decision needs to come down to what the program is actually doing.Anyone who originally planned on putting VA as their top choice reconsidering?
Pre covid certainly you'd get way more experience, especially with money not really being an object for the pts so complex tx often accepted. However, as someone mentioned in this thread with covid VA dental has been impaired.
Just my 2 cents, but I'm a practicing dentist and we get A TON of these VA vouchers aka pts who the VA is referring to outside practices to get their tx plans completed because they don't know when they'll be open to them again...or maybe they're just seeing very select cases. Im not sure if this is everywhere but in my area of Texas it is happening and we are getting a huge influx of VA pts in the civilian world. Just wanted to give insight in what I've been experiencing if it helps anyone.
I just accepted the Gainesville FL VA this morning.Anyone who originally planned on putting VA as their top choice reconsidering?

Congrats on UF VA! Is that Shands? I grew up in FL and had 2 sisters go to UF for undergrad. Im a UCF knight tho lolI just accepted the Gainesville FL VA this morning.
From what I can tell they are back to full speed ahead. Crowns and endo has been a concern according to the residents HOWEVER if at the current rate of patient flow stays consistent it should be back to par. Only in the past month has patient flow been ramping up. Resident also said she has placed 4 implants so far with more to come.
FWIW many New York programs are slow as well, some at full capacity others barely seeing patients. COVID really screwed us all this year but hopefully by the time we start in another 7 months time all should be better
