However, the programs I'm applying for have deadlines in November and December. Would you say it's too late to apply now? or go ahead and take my chances with applying and pray for the best?

For specializing it almost certainly seems that applying early is critical since it's guaranteed to be competitive. For GPR or AEGD, it's hard to know whether more people are motivated to do one, or more people wonder why should they do a residency unless it was to specialize.

I'm also planning to take my chances with just a few programs that I think I will be interested in. I'm not gonna be applying broadly like how we did when applying to dental school.
