For TOURO, is the INBDE a requirement for the application or for the matriculation ?Yes. They started this year..
You’re trying to make it to the LSU interview too right? If anyone that has an interview to University of Houston that is in session 1 and would be willing to switch to session 2 please message me 🙂
I agreeAs much as I love to get interview emails I would appreciate rejection emails as well just to make sure they got a correct email address of me and the email is actually working.
Not yet. I don’t think it has been sent out yetFor those interviewing with Tennessee, did you receive the follow up email after accepting the invite or has that not been sent out yet?
same...thinking about applying to GSO last minute....Slowly watching schools you applied to get put on that list is starting to kill me.
Hahaha!!same...thinking about applying to GSO last minute....
Ortho faculty at my dental school: you're applying this year ? How wonderful! Don't apply to Georgia tho.same...thinking about applying to GSO last minute....

Is this your first cycle applying to ortho?Raise your hand if you are losing hope/lost hope
✋️
Not really. The issue is they don't accept financial aid..has to be private loans and you gotta show them you can pay or whateverIs GSO tuition that much different from other programs?
If anyone is interviewing at Illinois on Thursday or Friday and needs to switch to Wednesday, let me know👍🏼
I believe last year they had over 400 applicants and offered 60 interviews for 9 positions. How many candidates does UIC interview?
But how to pay for that?same...thinking about applying to GSO last minute....
Better have a wealthy uncleBut how to pay for that?
I’m with you buddyI need an emotional support group for people who hasn't gotten a single invitation... it cannot just be me...

No, I emailed the contact person, he said that all the required documents are transferred via PASS, it just takes a few days for their portal to update.
same boat! You are not alone!I need an emotional support group for people who hasn't gotten a single invitation... it cannot just be me...
I received this email too even though I emailed him directly and he said my application was complete and under review. (even though in the supplemental it says all my materials are missing lol) I think it was an automatic emailI received an email from him today saying that I have not submitted all supplemental materials. Do you know how to submit the “Ortho & Dentofacial Orthopedic Service Application”? My GRE score is still missing too even though I sent it months ago![]()
Yes 🤣Better have a wealthy uncle
Last year I didn’t get any. Don’t worry, it doesn’t mean anything. A friend of mine got accepted into a program, declined for personal reasons, and did several interviews On the next year, he applied again, and got nothing ! So, relax, it will come!same boat! You are not alone!
I would not think twice if they accepted federal/private loans. But it looks like their reputation is not good, and I wonder if it’s because they accept a lot of candidates. I don’t believe it’s related to the quality of education.Hahaha!!
U too?? I thought I was the only one!

How can you have a good education if there is 45 spots? 3 years means 135 spotsI would not think twice if they accepted federal/private loans. it is not likely I think , here is my previous thoughts about thatHow can you have a good education if there is 45 spots? 3 years means 135 spots
Does GSO has enough patients and dental units for 45 residents, it seems to me that the patients load in not enough as 1st year resident involve in 30 cases only!

I wish we have any gso resident that can shade a light about the education/training/cases they getit is not likely I think , here is my previous thoughts about that

30 patients are not enough to get the anticipated knowledge and experience specially for someone paid 150k a year as tuition only, I think 70 patients is the acceptable minimum
moreover, most ortho programs have a number of dental units that match or exceed the number of residents, so do they have enough dental units for 135 residents
the residents to faculty ratio is very important too

I think gaining experience is important after residency, no matter which school or program we choose. The problem with GSO is that they don't provide loans, so you need to have money or family support. This makes it tough for most students to apply. You also have to decide if you want to wait another year to reapply, take a chance on getting an invitation elsewhere, or become an orthodontist sooner and start working. It's all a matter of personal choice, and there's no clear answer on whether it's a good or bad program. Even programs that offer stipends are competitive mainly because of their cost and the stipend they provide not based on the quality of their program and education.it is not likely I think , here is my previous thoughts about that

yes if someone can manage the finance to get in GSO is better that staying lost an and undecided, experience could be acquired but all in all that makes it more costly.I think gaining experience is important after residency, no matter which school or program we choose.
