**Official 2024 Ortho PASS/Interviews/Match/Non-Match**

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hi everyone! I have a question.. if you're accepted to a non-match program. Can you still interview with match programs if you're not sure about that position? TIA
if the match program had you sign a contract/ state that you would only apply to match schools when you applied to them then I would say no. However, if those match programs that interview you never had you sign a statement saying that you are only applying to match schools then you should be fine to do so!

but I'm also pretty sure that if you actually match to a program you are locked in and you absolutely have to go unless if you have a major reason like a health problem... someone please correct me if I am wrong

Thank you so much for the reply! That's what I thought but I wanted to confirm it!!

Did anyone else get an email from NOVA that you were missing documents and every single one of them is in PASS?

Has anyone been able to discover an electronic method for paying the $95 Rutgers application fee?
I called and they said it must be mailed. run to postal office soon with that money order you might be able to get the 7/31 time stamp

Do you if i can still apply, if I submitted PASS application before september 1st, but I send my payment on september 1st?

Didn't Harvard ask for research portfolio for masters of science somewhere in their application?

yes. sept 1st is the deadline, so long it's sept 1st and preferabbly before 5 pm, then you are good!

yes, but it is optional lol
But I can't find it anymore did they remove it? I was submitting my application today and instead of that portfolio they were asking for unofficial GRE! I thought I was hallucinating that there was this requirement on the PASS

still there. You can still add it after submission.

Does GSO has enough patients and dental units for 45 residents, it seems to me that the patients load in not enough as 1st year resident involove in 30 cases only!

Just realized my GRE grade arrived to Rutgers like that.. I sent it at the time of the exam and I don't know how this happened.

Since the dates overlap, if you guys had the choice to choose between interviewing at Indiana or Chicago, which one would you choose?
The one that you have a higher chance like knowing someone or having a specific connection with the program

Did anyone apply to Montefiore? I can't find any information about their program besides the short blurbs on their website...?

Can anyone please send me the list of Non-PASS programs? Thank you so much.

Chicago has more spots so I would maybe do that one because you’d have a better shot of getting in

They are inactive this year..what a luck!
Maybe you're referring to a different program as Monte's accepting (accepted as of tomorrow due to deadline) applications this year

I don't see montifere

They are (were) non pass participating

Oh OK. Weird since they participate in pass for other things
How hard it would be to get all lors and transcripts to them individually

Their deadline passed yesterday so don't think you can apply unfortunately

I wouldn't have been able anyway, I don't have any ortho recommendation lol, but best of luck to you!

This is for Seton Hill.
I know they sent few invitations at August 22nd. Did anyone get an invitation email after August 22nd? Thank you.

For Columbia, do they want us to send them 5 Evaluations from faculty/professors, or they are just saying we can?

That's probably what they want. Not sure if it's mandatory.
so I went to their website, and they basically saying they want 4, 1 from the school and 3 from people we worked with and stuff.
From their website:
"(4) recommendation letters: One (1) of the four letters must be an Institutional Evaluation letter and three (3) of the letters must be professional evaluation letters from dental faculty. PASS allows up to five (5) recommendation letters: one (1) Institutional Evaluation letter and four (4) professional evaluation letters from dental faculty. All letters must be uploaded into the PASS application. Additional letters beyond the allowable amount in PASS will not be accepted if sent directly to the Admissions Office."

But thank you.. now I am stuck on what to write for Touro , what makes you interesting. I can't think of anything 🤢

looking to apply to Ortho later on! Wanted an evaluation of my chances please! My stats are:

  • Canadian applicant
  • currently 9/76 in my class
  • I have 2 research experiences in undergrad - 1 got published and I was 2nd author in, the other one was a minor role
  • Currently accepted another 2 research positions in my 3rd year, but non-related to ortho
  • Founder of ortho club in my school, Also hold 3 other club executive positions at the moment
Realistically, do I have a chance? I am aiming for orthodontic externships during this summer to get some more exposure! Thanks in advance 🙂

Sounds pretty solid to me! I'm not sure how being a Canadian applicant would factor in but it sounds like you have a well rounded application. I would continue being involved and start thinking about your references/ personal statement since it is never too early for that.

Has anyone here done an internship year to better prepare themselves to apply? Not feeling great about my chances this year so I’d like to start looking into internships and would like to hear anyone’s experience and how to apply for those!

Second program not following the deadline. Weird. Congrats on getting invited

I think what I learned this year is that you gotta apply early. I had my part of the application done back in June but I was honest about my application deadlines and one of my evaluators waited to submit his LOR literally on august 15th and then I submitted right away….but I feel like I should’ve asked people to get their letters in way sooner.

Applying to Texas and USC on Sept 2nd is early 😅

But yeah you are right..

Maybe I’m alone here- but anyone else out there feeling this is a frustrating process with on rhyme or reason?
Getting discouraged here…..
No I feel very similar. The whole application process is super frustrating with every school wanting 50 different supplemental materials. Feels like they don’t respect your time as a professional when you spend hours filling out the same information on PASS.

Houston has a new director but if you look at the history, they tend to send invites out by 9/20-9/28. This year was just earlier
