**Official Class of 2021 Thread** !

Seriously I'm salty because I just got my results back for HepB and the lab report is hard to interpret. I think i need to get re-immunized but I can't tell. And red-tape doesn't let anyone expect the doc talk about my lab results. So get to schedule an appt in 2 weeks to talk about my lab results and then maybe get my immunization series started.
What does it say? mine just said "<5 mIU/mL patient does not have immunity to Hep B virus"

That sounds weird. When a midlevels signs a document they are working under a doc.

Agreed 100% but if the form explicitly states it i'm not gonna risk it. My school makes me mail in the forms too so if something is messed up its gonna throw a big wrench in getting everything done on time.

I have something similar to that wording. So i thought that infers we are not immune (AKA need to get re-immunized). But funny story is I just got a call from my clinic and per doc "Don't need to do anything further" the front desk lady doesn't have any medical experience and can't comment. I scheduled an appointment and will bring everything including the school paperwork so I'll figure it out then.

This whole thing stinks but atleast we are getting it done now 🙂

I would call your admissions office about it. My school needed a PCP to sign all the health forms (MD/DO no MA/midlevel nada). And setting up a new PCP just for this immunization stuff is really fun.

Thanks for letting me know. It's probably about time I establish a new PCP where I live anyway since I'll be in med school here for the next 4 years...

Goodbye February! We are officially one month closer to medical school!

[edit] I changed the original version because, well...this is great.

Anybody doing those pre-matriculation programs that schools offer? My school invited me but its a rigorous program during the summer, one month before school starts, but idk if its worth it lol

It will make the first month or two of school easier, but it will also waste a month of the few hours of true freedom you have left.

I will! Think is a great opportunity to get your mind back in the groove of things and get to know classmates early on.

Yea I have heard great things about them , like first years have said it helped them out transition to med school, and kind of learn the swing of things lol
I'm still debating but I am leaning more towards doing it.

I haven't been accepted to any of those schools that offer pre matriculation starts. I only thought flexmed from icahn offered that.

One school has a a required online program of three courses including anatomy and biochem to re-familiarize yourself with content and it has to be completed before the first week of class. They give you a month.

That sounds horrible. I get the programs that are available for people who need it but to make it mandatory seems a bit much

I guess it's a positive to make sure everyone is starting at somewhat of the same place and they can make certain assumptions of what basic knowledge the students have to start classes with.

Getting into medical school is though. Getting into UCSF is on a whole other level. Congrats, you might run into one of the adcoms here.

Hey y'all-- does anyone else have the irrational fear they they're going to flunk their classes this semester and get their acceptance revoked lol

I'm taking the hardest class I've ever taken and I'm in my last semester of college,so I have this fear pretty much every day
