SMW I can totally understand...I was in shock I got the interview and now we actually got in!!!!! Hopefully I will finally get to meet you (and accept_me, scooby, alice, epogen, figure five, grasshopper, synite, moonlight, modemduck, gobearsgo, word AND CHOKER!! I've decided that I must have gotten in on the non-book worm component particularly since I spend all my time on this site!

I haven't received my reject letter today but I called this morning and the admissions lady confirmed the worst...ahhh, I don't understand...the whole process was going well and then SMACK--two post-interview rejections in the same week (my first). Ouch.

I hope the future holds a reversal of this rather unpleasant trend.

Please Duke/Yale/Penn...I need 'ya!

Thank you the empathy and best wishes everyone 🙂 Well CG my interview was crappy so I certainly wasn't expecting anything positive to come of it. But I'm still holding out for Yale (no interview yet) and Cornell's final decision on me!

for a brief summary....

-people began getting acceptance offers on 2/15 of last year
-acceptances are the first batch that they send out, followed by waitlists, and rejections a few days later
-acceptance letters come via priority mail
-interviewers find out if an applicant has been accepted and some will call to inform the applicant

i read the whole thing too. i am spending more time dinking around on this site than is healthy or sane. I just learned about it at a med school interview and its pretty neat.

i worry about admission often, i feel like i have my heart really set on it, and I have been dedicated to it and I just want something to happen. agh.

so if i bump this thread ever other day dont e-murder me

Doesn't Columbia accept about 300 people? 300 out of around 1100 isn't really horrible odds.

And did they even interview that many this year?

You mean someone at your interviews confessed to using this site?? I asked a few people at interviews but everyone just clammed up as in "uh yeah I might have been there once or twice"

my feeling is that the majority of sdn users are unregistered lurking leeches who never contribute anything but just use whatever's available for free. i think we should make it a requirement that people register in order to read interview feedback as well as the pre-allo forum.

i dunno - I guess I think theres room for everyone - I just only shout "yay!" to people that post about getting in if I have seen their posts before. If someone registers just to tell us they got in I don't bother!!

it was roughly the 15th last year, and i figure it's the same this year.....

i do'nt think i'll be able to wait until feb 15. but i know it's gonna be a rejection anyway so who cares. i don't know how much effect the interview has on the decision considering how it only lasts 20 minutes or so.

I think it is the 15th because:

1. It was the 15th last year (check this thread)

2. I asked at interview and was told the 15th

3. It says the 15th on the website under "Important Dates"::

I called today and they said decisions were being sent out on the 24th. Looks like we have to wait another week.
