Anybody know if the waitlist for maryland is ranked? and if so anyway we can check our position??

Does anyone know how many people are put on the waitlist? Like if I get on how many others will I be "competing" with (and if you do get on best of luck!)?
I got on the waitlist as well. Low key bummed out because I have to wait more for a final decision, but hey at least it's another chance!
Good question, I'm wondering that too.

if we interviewed and havent gotten waitlisted or accepted, does that mean we're rejected?

Anyone who received an waitlisted email, did they mention about class being full?

Here’s what they said in the email:
“Unfortunately, we have come to that time in the admissions cycle when our class appears to be filled.

Based on trends in previous admissions cycles, additional class positions will become available within the next few weeks as we approach our second deposit deadline of April 1st and in the coming months as we continue our admissions cycle.”

Not getting an email feels like getting stood up on a date without the person even texting you that they're not planning on showing up.

Some of you guys need to relax. Be patient. If you didn't get on the waitlist nor an email for either being accepted / rejected, that means your application is still under consideration. If you know you've done everything you can to help your application, then just wait it out.

I am wondering whether or not they are sorting applications via last name or something...not quite sure

@chegginit Thanks, man!! Best of luck to you too

@Wolfbarker Thank you! Best of luck to you as well, and I love the quote btw. Great book!

People who are waitlisted. Are you guys IS or OOS? and When was your interview?

Did Anyone get accepted yesterday? Only rejections went out ?

Is there a FB page for our class? I couldn’t find one . Anyone know of good places to live?

There is also a GroupMe! We’ve been talking about living situations a bit. Some recommendations include Sail Cloth, Redwood, Camden, Zenith (pricyyyyyy), and a bunch others - just depends on your budget and desired proximity to the school!

Random question, did anyone receive a Residency classification with a student ID number? (I was wondering if they give all applicants a "student ID")

I also haven't received heard from MD since interviewing.🙁

I just called up the administration office asking they informed me that the board is still evaluating individuals throughout this month. Does this mean that there is still a chance for some of us or have they simply not driven the nail in the coffin yet (and sorry, pulling at strings here)

Hey man! Honestly, if they are saying that are evaluating individuals that means that they are looking for people that fit their program. You can't rush it and you can't really do much. Like I mentioned in a previous post, be patient (I know it's not fun) and wait for a response from the committee. So yes the chance of you attending Maryland is still as good as it was from before depending on how you did on your interview and your application as a whole.

do they mean that they're evaluating individuals who were placed on the waitlist or people who haven't heard back yet?

I guess I just got to be patient and wait this out. I'm still hopeful since I didn't get a rejection yet lol

They said they were evaluating people as a whole I believe. I haven't been placed upon the waitlist yet. My interview date was also January 17th in case you're curious

this is my second time applying. Last year when I applied. I interviewed on 01/11 and did not hear back anything when others were wait listed. I ended up not receiving anything at all and rejection mail came in about month after. Just throwing this out there.
This time I interviewed on 10/31. Got waitlisted when others did earlier this month.

Thanks so much for the info mate, best of luck getting into this time around (and if it doesn't work out then see ya next year lol). if you don't mind me asking, what did you do during your gap year? like any jobs, extra studies, etc?

So not hearing from them, with a rejection or waitlist, at all is a rejection?

Thanks man, I hope you hear back soon and it doesn't turn out like me.
My first gap year, i worked as a dental assistant. But that wasn't enough to get in. My second gap year(which is right now) I'm attending Rutgers for a masters. It's in MS in biomedical sciences concentrated in oral biology. I was recommended by a lot of people i should do this. You get to take some dental school courses with Rutgers D1.
People usually do this program and then apply. But I applied to dental schools right after first cycle and applied to this program as a backup (so if i dont get in the 2nd time, I have something new in my 3rd time applying). If you want to know more about it just give me a PM.

In my case it was. But waitlist this cycle was much sooner than last year. I remember my friends being waitlisted in Mid - Late March. But this time it was early March. Maybe they'll send a second round of waitlist?
Or i could be completely wrong and they did send couple wait list emails last year and I just didnt know about it. Don't take my word for it though. Only speaking from observation.

Rejected 3/2/18 via email. 🙁

21 DAT, 3.55 GPA
