If i could help you all out, I would... gunna go say hi to the applicants on our next break and I'll be able to confirm if there were truly no shows.
I had my interview yesterday and it was actually quite pleasant.
Questions were the same as the ones previously posted.
The atmosphere was awesome. I felt very relaxed all day.
Definately my number 1 choice.
The new building for research and forensics is nice. The Professors were very inviting for research opportunities and I quote "If you wanna do research come on down and talk to one of the professors at any time".
Over all experience 10. Stress level 3, and I consider a 3 normal anxiety.
when I was called for interview it was late december the january interviews are not even starting to fill up yet. even then the class will be only around half full so don't start sweating yet. remember osu does rolling admissions and will not fill the class with all first/second round. True it is better for early interview but there will be plenty of spots in the months ahead. Also don't forget about the bridge or masters programs the admissions process for those are different than the regular program. Any questions just shoot me a pm or even better contact the admissions directly they are super

I got an invite for Nov. 11th today. I am so excited! I can't wait, but then again I'm also nervous.
Ahhh I'm so relieved I was starting to panic 😀
For those that already interviewed, did they say how long it will take to be informed of acceptance/wait list status?

I got acknowledgment of my secondary on August 17, but haven't heard anything from them...🙁
How long did y'all have to wait to hear back or get invited? I'm an OOS. I'm thinking I should probably call to make sure everything's okay.
BTW, I see you are from Texas. Did you apply to TCOM?
i interviewed there back in august. awesome school. they have two interviews and one of mine went really well, the other one not so much. (the guy kept looking at the clock when i was talking!)
i just really wanna stay near the south, and tulsa's an awesome city.
Oh man, the wait is killin' me! Last time, I applied in February and was contacted almost immediately for an interview. I made the wait list but not the final wait list. I really, really hope I fare better this time as a reapplicant. Finished my MPH, got lots of volunteer hours, and a good job as a health inspector.
EDIT:
I just got the call that I've been offered an interview for next week! Wow!
tablets aren't necessary. the majority of students don't have them.
i was concerned that I needed to spend a bunch of money on a new computer when i started school ... turns out that my 5 year old gateway does the job quite well. you will get loan money to cover a new computer if you want but if you had a good one from college, that should be just fine.
Thanks!! I love my macbook. I was kind of getting sad that some of the schools I'm look at might make me part with it! lol
Okay, I'll give you the non-opinionated pros/cons of a tablet:
Pros: Portable, can carry "notebook style" for the anatomy lab practicals, can notate on the screen in Microsoft OneNote.
Cons: Most brands (HP, Fujitsu, Toshiba) build clunky style laptops, all the kinds I've seen at school run extremely hot (the hotter the shorter the life of the laptop), their specs are under par for current technology, 2-4 hour battery life at best, only beneficial in two classes really.
Now my opinion:
I love my mac, and this is coming from a recent convert who dissed Macs for over 10 years. I bought the almost fully load mid 2010 updated Macbook Pro 15". Its boot time is 14 seconds (4 gig of ram) largely stomping windows 7 boottime on my friends brand new alienware which is >30 seconds. I can easily get 7 hours of battery life and if I dim the screen and keep processes at a minimum, just over 8 hours.
Everything in school is compatible, only downside is the lack of porting one-note to the mac office suite (microsofts fault). One additional downside may be lugging it around in anatomy lab practicals, but its very minor and really not bad. You are able to run the histo software with minimal hitches and in my opinion, the pros of a mac outweigh the cons considerably.
Stepping off my podium...
Congrats to all those offered interviews, look forward to meeting you and if you don't mind, PM me your name, school, and interview date and I'll do my best to stop by and say hi.
Thanks for the insight. I was thinking about getting an iPad... think this would be compatible? Know anyone who does this?

Thanks for the responses. Ah, that would've been extremely convenient... oh well. IDk about you guys, but that acceptance phone call cant come soon enough lol... good luck everyone.
ah next friday for my interview can't come soon enough!! good luck to you as well
Are early interviews at OSU correlated at all with higher chances of admission?
In any case, I wish the iPad could be used because I think it's a really sweet device.

Nice! My interview was super relaxed and everything was kept pretty conversational. One thing that may or may not have already been noted is that the interviews are closed-file (no grades or MCAT). The interviewers only have your PS, your secondary, and activities from AACOMAS, so make sure you review those.
Oh, and they give you a brochure of all the nearby apartments with their monthly rates, etc. included for those of you that were wondering about housing options.
Hey Phlame,
What do you figure my chances to be?
OOS with no connections to OK other than going there once
3.8 cGPA, 3.7 sGPA
29N
Secondary already received, they just need to download letters.
Thanks.
I'm actually having a house built out in Jenks, right off I-75. I can take 75 right up to OSU, right? Seems like commuting wouldn't be bad at all!

It's funny how having a scheduled interview actually feels like a longer wait than waiting for an interview invitation. I'll never forget the agonizing wait for the waitlist purge (it was surprisingly not agonizing to find out that I didn't make it to the final list). I'm really hoping this much earlier interview helps in some way since OSU is easily my No. 1 choice.
Yeah, I am.
will you be using the shuttle?
Yes. To and from the airport, and to and from the school. I might have to go straight from the interview to the airport.
okay... what time is your flight?? I will be doing the same from the airport and to and from the school.
I land in Tulsa at 2:38 on the 4th and leave at 5:40 on the 5th. So hopefully I have enough time to get from the interview to the hotel to pick up my bag and then get to the airport in time. What is your plan?
In the Pros and Cons of Your DO School thread there is a review of OSU that makes OMM at the school sound terrible. It talks about having multiple professors teaching, repeat questions, questions with no right answer, and random grading on practicals, but the review is from 2007. Have you run into any of these problems?
