I actually trained one in LeafGreen, once. I don't think I made it to the Elite 4 on that playthrough.

When I play the games, I always have the biggest debates in my head because I bond with my Pokemon team.... And when I get the legendary Pokemon (or multiples), I can't decide whether to use them to decimate the elite four, or use the team I've trained since the beginning and grown to know and love 😛

I've been playing yellow since the sign up thread was posted last week and now I'm playing Ruby since it just arrived in the mail yesterday (along with sapphire, emerald, leafgreen, and firered). There was a good deal on the package... 🙂

I don't like evolving my starter. Lol. I actually think I beat the Elite Four in Diamond without evolving my Piplup. Everything else was decked out, of course

I only played Red/blue, maybe ruby and sapphire (I think). Charmander was always my starter and he was pretty boss by the time I got to the elite 4.

I'm so behind on handheld consoles... literally had to steal my roomie's DS in preparation for this game. I officially knew I was out of touch when omega ruby/alpha saph came out, because the originals of those games were the last ones I played a ton of.

I bought my first Gameboy 19 years ago while pregnant with my son. I got it for the sole purpose of playing pokemon. In fact, that is the only game I owned!
