The dean also said that he would be sending an official email to me, which I haven't gotten yet. I think that once he's done calling everyone, we'll probably get the emails. I assume no email for accepted students, he's still making calls.

I second this. I really thought calls would continue today, but I haven't heard a peep from anyone anywhere 🙁
 
If I didn’t receive an email, does that mean I’m rejected?
 
Just saw an Instagram post from PUCVM with Dean Reed at the Western Veterinary Conference in Vegas. Not sure if it's an old picture from prior years or if its current. Could be the reason for some radio silence the past few days..🤔
 
Got an email and straight rejection lol
So no email shouldn't indicate rejections right away because they DO send out the rejection emails haha

So if those who were accepted received emails, does that mean some individuals may have been left out/not included in the waitlist/rejection emails sent today? I think I'm going to call tomorrow to find out. This happen to me at another school this cycle where they didn't email a group of students due to an email glitch and you had to call to determine your status.

If you do call, can you please let us know if we should call as well?
 
OOS rejection by email- very surprised! I felt great about my interview, and I felt very comfortable while interviewing. Good luck to everyone in this current cycle!!
 
Just try to keep in mind the class size is about half of many other schools so the odds were a lot lower :/

Yes, but the dean stated in his session on the day I interviewed that he would be making around 120 offers for the 85ish seats, so they offered a lot more seats than they actually have, and they've already given themselves a nice cushion before they even have to think about touching the waitlist :shrug:
 
Hi Everyone! After stalking this page over the weekend, I decided to create an account lol. I was OOS waitlisted at purdue. Congrats to those who have been accepted!
 
Does anyone know more about those of us who haven't received anything yet? Has everyone who got a call received their email already?

Hey everyone! So I just got off the phone with their office, and the lady I spoke with told me EVERYONE should have gotten an email regarding admissions last night at 5:00pm.
With that said, I told her I had not, and she told me to check my spam. So if you haven't seen anything, check your spam.
Unfortunately, I still have nothing in my spam folder, and so she told me to just email them @ [email protected] and ask them there.

I also did not receive any email last night and finally broke down and gave them a call this morning. Told me to check my spam folder, but I still did not receive anything. Might be worth giving them a call or email, since it seems as there are more people in this boat. might have been a possible glitch or error on their part.

I second calling/emailing them if you did not receive an email last night. On the APVMA page someone said everyone should have received an email yesterday (acceptances/waitlists/rejections). I emailed them around 11 and they resent my email (OOS waitlist).
 
How much is the Purdue deposit? It's not listed in our acceptance email.
 
Anyone just receive the Financial aid notification and have no idea how to create a MyPurdue account?

I did it! They sent a separate email that gave us the information we need to set up an account. There's a link in the email they sent us, and at the top of the page it there is another link to account set up. PM me of you need more help!

Hi! Congrats all! I am a current 2nd year (class of 2022) at PVM. I am sure that you will be added to the Facebook group in the next week or two and don't worry, there will be plenty of housing opportunities posted. 😉
 
Any current Purdue students that can tell me what type of laptop they usually make us buy? Do the loans that kick in when classes start reimburse the amount we spend on it?
 
You are required to buy a specific Lenovo Yoga ThinkPad -- don't try to buy it by yourself/cheaper because you HAVE to buy the one through them to get all the programs and warranties. You will have to buy the laptop before you receive loan money, but yes, you can apply loan money towards your laptop. You accept the amount of loan money you want/need for the year: first it is applied to your school tuition, fees, etc. then you receive the rest of the accepted loan money as a "reimbursement"/check to your bank account --> this is the money you can use to "reimburse yourself" for the laptop (make sure you accept enough/calculate that cost in if you want.) :cat:

This is the current schedule that is posted for your class (2024) this coming fall. There may be some changes, but no major changes. Hope this helps!

It is posted on our "DVM Connect" website, so if you have access to that page already yes it is the same one. It is a PDF that contains all DVM and veterinary nursing schedules. If you are wanting to see other years here is the whole document. It was just updated March 2nd, 2020.

Have any alternates in this thread received an offer lately? I really hate that they don’t give us a rank. I don’t know if I should hold out a little longer or not.

I don't think it's common to receive offers off the waitlist from anywhere until on or after the deadline. I've actually had a couple of the other schools I'm waitlisted at specifically say don't plan on hearing from us until after April 15th. That being said though, don't feel like you have to give anyone a decision until the deadline. If you accept a seat elsewhere and get a call after the deadline that you're off the waitlist, you can always forfeit your deposit and accept the offer at Purdue 🙂
 
Ya'll, I am freaking out a bit because I have only narrowed down my options, but have not picked a school yet. I feel like I could use a current Purdue student to talk with to help me make my decision. The biggest thing keeping me from choosing Purdue is my passion for exotics.

Current students - is there anyone in your class that is focused on exotic/zoo medicine that would be willing to talk to me through email? I would really appreciate it!
