There's obviously a way in this game by which people can return back from the dead. The inescapable dread I feel after every lynch and resurrection is not because I'm afraid, lost, or wandering like a free wolves meal, but because I don't know who's bringing all these people back. Now that SOV has returned, what's that mean about nohika? Wolf? All I can glean from my bank vault of WW experience is that when the breaking eggs occurs, there are forces at work greater than all the king's horses and all the king's men. Someone is very good a voodoo. I don't know if anyone has seen The Serpent and The Rainbow, but this is exactly what it was like for those decedents as well. It stinks - as a former great bull alluded to.

At any rate, I don't see how SOV could come back as anything other than a wolf, but it creates consternation about unlimited returns. If you've ever been to Red Robin, they have bottomless fries. Is SOV a never ending supply of sliced deep fried and salty snacks? There are many head scratching elements at play here, and I'm going to have to return to the musings of my incredible abilities in order to elicit the matter. I'll start with an early vote of no confidence:

I'll enjoy 20 questions between lotf and sov though. Not going to change anyone's mind but should be entertaining.

I know I was just ranting about bandwagons but even I see the logic in lynching SOV again. It would be too convoluted for him to be back as a villager who could only talk in gifs- it would be way too easy to lead us to the wolves either through posting their avatar or obvious clues, which means that even IF he were a villager (which I really, really doubt) there would be heavy conditions on what he can post to help us find the wolves. Essentially he'd be a big freaking distraction for all of us which would help the wolves most.

What I don't understand is why he was rezzed - too stupid for the wolves to do since they should know he'd get instant scrutiny and anyone with any WW experience would know he'd be an immediate target for relynch, thus wasting a rez. I'd be curious to know who's doing this because my guess is there may be more chaos lurking.

As crazy as it sounds, I don't think that we need to kill SOV today. It feels like we're dealing with a hydra right now where if we cut the head off, two grow back. I think we need to continue on with finding wolves. Something or someone s bringing everybody back. If it's wolf alligned, we need to find a way to get rid of it.

It might be a temporary rez, used to buy a day nothing more. I think we should be looking elsewhere today and if he's still alive tomorrow then kill him.

I think this is some stupid play if I ever saw it. If the wolves brought him back, it's probably to use an ability or something. I don't want to give him that chance.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets sketched out by a quick 'yay we got a wolf' type of comment. It also tweaks me, too.

I know you (all) are sick of me saying it, but I'm still not fully caught up (sorry - ~30 pages is a lot), but I can easily get on any of these three (pretty much in the order listed above, priority-wise). Additionally, I can get on a Jilary lynch.

I'm inclined to try SOV one more time to see if he stays dead first, though, just to see if it was a one-time auto rez or something like that or if he's truly (another?) alpha type role. I mean, the role reveal when he was lynched certainly didn't say anything, so....

Well, it forces us to use another day of voting when we could be going after someone else. It essentially buys the wolves a free day. My guess is that it is part of his role that just wasn't revealed at lynch.

It doesn't make sense to me that the wolves would bring him back to use an ability. They would know he would be immediately relynched. So then the question becomes did someone else do it because of a reason that helps them (hard to think of how it would help a villager but convoluted roles and interplay of times isn't new for WW). Or is it some weird quirk of the role whereby lynching creates some sort of morph to something else (in which case I have to worry if lynching again could result in him returning again and changed again)?

I understand why, but sometimes I'm posting while sitting on the patio waiting for my pup to pee. :laugh: It doesn't always allow for eloquent responses.
 
Oh - and I'm down with lynching SOV.

Allowing him to skate by another day allows the wolves the benefit of his ability to strategize, etc. Like. C'mon, people.

I don't get this whole "use his ability" argument that a few people have made.

When he was lynched the lynch write-up indicated Cyndia was a vanilla wolf. No ability.

If the mod is outright lying to us in the write-up .... well, screw the mod. That's not a fair way to treat players. I understand hiding something like a one-time auto-rez or certain other aspects of some types of roles, but to say he's vanilla when not? That wouldn't be cool. I don't see STL doing that.
 
Seems like the obvious choice to ###lynch SOV###
We can get fancy and consider more complicated explanations once we have ruled out the most simple one. Lynching SOV simply cannot be a bad play. Either he's still a wolf and stays dead this time, or we have more info to go on.

Yeah, I don't think it has anything to do with SOV having an ability. I think it was a for the grins move as we are not doing well currently, so why not on wolves part.
 
I don't guess it was an item? That would also make sense since I would think if the wolves had a rez as ability, they'd use it on one that had an ability. Although, I don't know if rez keeps ability in this game.

Not saying he has an ability to use, just that he can be sneaky and the longer the wolves have him around, the more they can get us chasing other 'suspects' and lynching villagers while ignoring SOV and/or building a defense for him.

I've been a wolf and brough a wolf back before because we were way ahead and I thought it would be funny and confuse the villagers. Results were exactly as chaotic as expected, with the villagers afraid to lynch because they figured there was something up the wolves' sleeves (we had nothing, and we got some extra time bought through nothing but bull****). I'm not playing that game- SOV is-a-dyin' if I've got any say in it.

This was my reasoning for saying SOV couldn't come back a villager. He knows who the wolves are and thus can't really hunt them. He can be a wolf or chaos or basically an NPC, but not really village.

I'm willing to humor him and talk to him though while we look at other people. My assumption (at least until tomorrow) is that he can only be around for a cycle, or we have a bunch of zombies that need whoever rezzed them to die... in which case we need to talk to the other rezzed too, but one way or another, the best choice is to look at other people and lynch SOV if he survives through tomorrow and we know nothing else.
 
That last post was from a while ago.

You guys really don't think it could be a 1 day rezz that gets us to burn a lynch day for nothing (like with Lupin a few games ago?)

In SOV and LIS's WW of WW game, I started the game as Vincent the dog from Lost. I was a wolf tracker, but I didn't know I was a wolf. No one in my pack knew we were wolves. I was killed, but rezzed by a pack mate and I came back as a completely mute villager. I would have been able to speak again once my entire pack was dead. Somehow, they didn't all immediately lynch me again.

Basically, it is possible he was rezzed a villager, and I could see that being a mechanic STL would want to play with. The problem I'm having is I asked the mods yesterday (through the caaaarrr item) how many conversion possibilities were in the game and I was told one, and if SOV is now a villager, that would be the one conversion in my mind.

I found out two days ago using the caaaarrr item (basically an ask the mod item, yes I got it two days in a row, no I don't know why, I rarely get items in games it seems).

Are you ever not up for lynching me? I know I haven't been super active just because of work, but I think I've been playing very much for the village. When I got the item, I asked DVMD (the only person I can pm) what she thought I should ask about and we agreed number of wolves was a good first question, followed by conversions.

Any fun messages during your rezz about who brought you back (affiliation or ability or mechanism not role)? Any reasons to trust/not trust SOV? (And any reason to trust you by extension?)

I just didn't see much that pushed you village yet.
 
Yeah, if you guys end up lynching me twice, trying to kill me, lynching the outed role seer, lynching the outed tracker, trying to lynch and then shooting DocE, and then just...leaving the confirmed wolf to wolf-about in peace, I'm going to laugh at you. :laugh:

Nope. I did get called an ingrate by a mod because I was sad I actually had to pay attention again.

I can't believe people are even thinking of trusting SOV. Like. ????

I don't care if you trust me or not. If I got my knickers in a knot every time I was lynched, I'd have no knickers.
 
Did anyone have any thoughts about why they chose to kill genny last night? Only thing I saw was a vote for TRH before yesterday's SOV lynch. SARdog hasn't been around much. Also have dpmd as a suspect. I wonder if a wolf would blatantly lynch the person lynching SOV on evidence though. haha

I don't believe anyone is saying trust SOV. It is more if lynching him is worth it currently as he is a)a known wolf b) if this rez was only temporary.

I'll probably lynch him, but in the meantime, we still have 4-5 other wolves to hunt down...
