Shark WWeek Signups and GAME thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Sorry to be MIA, been on the road for a while. Just drove for 8 hours on 2 hours of sleep. Going to try to help more during the week but will be hard without Internet.

In other news, I'm good at injuring myself by somehow managing to have the door to my trunk slam into my head and arm. I'm talented.
Sorry to hear that, hope you are okay 🙁. And I am right there with you with the driving thing, drove 8 hours today as well on about 4 hours of sleep, and that was very rough...

I'm just gonna put this out there, and damn the brain-splitting sonar (In addition to the Japanese fisherman, I was vaguely hoping there was a wolf in this game that kills with sonar, but can only kill within his/her own group because of the limited sonar range):

For various reasons good and not so good I have the following in the "most likely a sharkster" camp:

Lupin - not likely a wolf
LIS - not a wolf fo sho
Mad Jack - not likely a wolf
Hedgie - not likely a wolf
WZ - not likely a wolf, I'm now pretty sure (thx, person-I-won't-name; I have to admit I was pretty convinced WZ was a wolf)
Kaydubs - was Great White Shark. Maybe still is. Dunno.
Cocoa - some circumstantial reasons to believe probably sharky, but don't really know
Swings - Cocoa vouched early for Swings, and if I buy that Cocoa is sharky, I might as well buy the vouching....
FS - vouched for early by peeps who died sharks
FFM - probs not a wolf, more circumstantial stuff
BI - ditto

In the "dunno squat about" camp is:
cuitl
STL - claims to be frilled shark
WL

And in the "sigh.... just go die already" camp:
Cyndia

If we churn through cuitl and WL and still have wolves to find, I'd probably lynch STL, FS, and swings (in no particular order). Not sure I really buy the 'vouching' for FS and swings; they're both very capable of convincing some n00bier players to vouch for them without good reason.

And, of course, if/when we get a conversion, all bets are off. Sigh.

BTW, with regards to STL's "info" .... note that none of that is really actionable or useful.

I'm torn on whether "intercepting PMs" is more likely a shark role or a wolf role. Seems to me it could be either. And it also seems to me that if Cyndia is indeed now vulnerable, then STL-as-a-wolf didn't have anything to lose by posting that info, because STL would know that the info was already in villager hands.

Bottom line, I don't find that info-spill to be compelling one way or the other.

Thanks, I'm ok. Have a nice bruise on my arm, hurts quite a bit but it will heal. Can't tell if my head bruised or not, doesn't feel like it but it has been hurting off and on. I'll heal, just felt like an idiot when it happened.

Also driving sucks. I swear the more I drove the further away it seemed like I was.

Anyway, back to the regularly scheduled ww game...

I could honestly just as easily see STL being a wolf. This could be a ploy to distract us into lynching Cyndia (unsuccessfully) for a few more days.

As a veteran of the stretch you are driving, you probably have already driven through the most exciting parts. 🙁

I was wondering why you were suddenly not suspicious of me anymore @LetItSnow, figured I must have been cleared somehow 🙂

Sucks that two of the suspicious people are my two groupmates. @Mad Jack I miss our usual game PM and my inevitable question of whether you are finally an original wolf 🙁

mod is ill. I'm sorry that I'm not getting you an updated tally. But the results had cyndia in the lead.

Cyndia once again does not die. But she appears different somehow.

Or maybe we could use any resources we have left to screen me, STL, and WL for real info, and lynch (or not) as appropriate. And then reassess everyone else.

Also, I only 'vouched' for FS because the role he provided seemed legit and I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt since it was like day 2. Could he be a wolf? Certainly. I have absolutely no way of knowing for sure. In any event we haven't talked aside from that one PM.

KP was the other player to vouch for him on the thread (note that neither of us are noobs). I don't know how much they talked, if at all.

I posted all of the info I had. I am vouching for you, swings, and lupin, that's all I will say (barring any conversions...). Pretty sure I am getting pm results that others are getting, but not entirely sure. I know I don't have any info that is necessary useful, as I am guessing it is out there already, but can only post the info that I get....

I was reminded of something by someone: unlynch WL and lynch STL

Though WTL, STL, and cuitl are all still the most likely wolves in my book.
Not a wolf. I'm a wobbegong shark.
I've been quiet because I'm really busy right now. Working a ton and getting ready to move.

I agree about STL. Not sure about cuit, because I don't know their regular playing style.

Also, my name is not Willow The Leaf. 😉

As the dwindling crowd swims together the following morning, they can't help but feel a loss. It's only then that they notice lupin's missing shape - there's only a piece of her saw left. Lupin, the common sawshark who could assassinate at night, is dead.

Nothing important gained from my thing tn, I was told that the protection of person x was not necessary, aka I got the protectors message

So is there some reason you didn't post the exact message about Cyndia you allegedly intercepted? Because I was told info that suggests you're withholding. And if you're a villager I can't think of any reason to do that.

I posted it.... Look back

No offense, but I'm are people are using resources to screen you. But yanno, there are only so many of those resources, and I don't control them. It still makes sense to lynch from the list of people who nothing is known about. Unless you are suggesting - as you seem to be - that we lynch people who have better evidence of being villagers.

Will do. All I saw was the vague first one. But I'm on my phone and we all know how that goes.

Anyway. Cuitl is off my list per a PM I got.

So, ****lynch WL*****
Again, wobbegong shark. Not a wolf. I hope someone investigated me last night since I was at the top of the suspicious list.

STL posted a message that Cyndia has to be lynched a "certain number of times" or something. I guess the PM he intercepted didn't specify the number of times.

To not out certain players I am not going to disclose names (except cyndia since we know she's a wolf)
I am vouching for you, swings, and lupin, that's all I will say (barring any conversions...).
That seems rather contradictory.

TBH I read your post as "lynching these specific people is the only way we'll find the rest of the wolves" and, since people tend to listen to you, I wanted to point out an alternative method. It was more a suggestion to start screening the 'unknowns' to narrow the list further - not lynch people who are more likely villagers.

It's in the list of ones I posted, I only modified peoples names

All I see that you posted is the vague one about Cyndia needing to be killed a certain number of times. Thing is, the info I got from someone else included a specific number.

That, to me, is a discrepancy, and it means either you or Kaydubs is likely a wolf. At the moment, I trust her more than I trust you.

lynch STL

Nope. There very well could be (and I think there likely are) a wolf or two hiding in the list of people I think are villagers. My point was that in that list, I have <some> reason to think all of those people are likely villagers. Doesn't mean they all are. But in the WZ, WL, and STL group I really have no knowledge about them whatsoever. So to my way of thinking, it makes the most sense to go after that list of people first. As of the last night, I received a PM that suggests you should be moved into the "probs a shark" list. Obviously whatever resources we have will continue to screen unknowns; just like they looked at you last night. But they can't look at everyone at once, so.... somebody has to go. *shrug*

You are a tad off your game, if you know the number of times, isn't it safer to crack away at that rather than go after other people that may be villagers? Think of it, isn't it better to take down an alpha wolf this turn and look into me next then to leave a wolf and go after a possible villager? Your logic isn't sound with me

Also just clarified with dyachei whether or not I was supposed to be told the number of times, she said I was not supposed to know. So don't know what to tell yha...
