The reason that running people up to hammer minus one is good is because it forces people to make quick, decisive choices--especially in a speed game this is very useful and forces mafia into uncomfortable positions. You'll kill some town this way sometimes, but in the big picture it wins more games than it loses.

Clem initially jailed himself N2 and vampy strongarmed him. Clem then switched it to jail vampy. Had he originally kept his action on himself, he would have died.

That's how I do it too, but you'll see a lot of variation with different GMs and sites.

And yeah as soon as I saw the flip and zenge's post I changed to jailing vampy lol
