The Good PWWace - GAME THREAD

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I have no opinion I'm just asking your thoughts!
I'm not sure the show character category (good, bad, human, girl, not a girl,) has any bearing on player affiliation re: village or wolf, like in the SPN game. I think it MIGHT have bearing on the player's ability, but I don't know enough about the show to know if that's true.
or to rp affectively

I'm gonna call it a night early and focus on getting my brain back into school mode. Thanksgiving break has curdled whatever brain cells I have left. I don't want to know what winter break is gonna do to them.

On another unrelated note, I've been listening to, "Zoo," from Zooptopia 2-if you haven't watched it yet, highly recommend doing so- on repeat for a few days now. So much so that my housemate has kindly asked me to, "turn that bs off and listen to something else." I need help lol

Thumbs up

(Also I agree)

I would also note that shorty specifically said angel shooting and trying to solve based on role was not only pointless, but highly discouraged.

Are there angels in the good place? Can you shoot them?

Sorry I can’t help myself. It’s late and we have 2h left to drive 🙃

I've been playing for 11? years, mostly with open nights, and cannot ever remember resting during a night cycle by choice.

So mostly I think I'll feel FOMO

Okay bye now, I'll probably pop in sporadically to ****post
I have generally been quiet at night, mostly cuz it seemed to be the default in the n00b game, and also it is a nice chance to recharge.

Alas, all I’ve ever gotten for my troubles was a vig shot from a suspicious villager in both games I played in 🫠

That's why I'm all yap all the time!

And then I get shot to shut me up

@samac are you watching campaign 4? The three people I know are following it in real life, I am desperately trying to hide the fact I am too from them

explain partially
Slightly flagging this post as I'm going through and analyzing the GTH. @fruitsalad why did you want @potentialsheltervet to expound on these specific reads, when you later agreed with their reads of dubZ and Zenge?

idk it just stuck out to me that out of all the posts for you to ask an explanation on, you decided to question reads that agreed with your own.

that was during a catchup, sometimes i can agree with reads but disagree with reasoning

Alright have at it.

A couple of notes:
  • @Clem J and @kitzsuna didn't participate at all; @screamqueenbee , @fruitsalad , @Zenge142 participated minimally; @finnickthedog and apoptosis appear to have missed a couple.
  • A few of these weren't explicit GTH posts, but if it was close enough (for example, CG had a reads list) I substituted those reads for GTH. If there were reads further back in the posts I did not go digging for them.
  • I also did not include posts that came after the thread lock/write up, but did include posts that came between vote close and thread lock.
ETA: added the 3rd bullet point above.

@Zenge142 my friend, care to expound now on your vibing me for W? You wound up being the only person who landed on me as W in the GTH (other than fruits, who posted a little while ago that they changed their mind on me after close)

Which, uh, being universally village read, while flattering... doesn't make me feel great about the results for tonight 😂

oooo butch I love a spreadsheet.
Also, I was patterned-testing and dying someone's hair, that's my excuse for missing some things

There was one i saw where I had no read on any of them so I didn't reply to it. Thought that was the only one I "missed"

To be clear--no judgement for "missing" GTH posts, or not participating. It just means I didn't have any information with which to fill in the spreadsheet.

Sorry, i’m having trouble keeping up with the fast pace of this since i cant be constantly on the forum 😭 but i genuinely dont see how we could get a read on anyone after just the first day when the rules seem different than a typical ww game?

It's really, really hard. I'm not going to lie to you, but it'll get easier!
This game is also really messing with the readometers of players

I functionally never participate

Didn't take it as judgment but figured if that was the only one missing for me then you could fill in those blanks if you wanted.

I think that sort of defeats the purpose of GTH. The whole point is people are under pressure to give their reads leading up to a vote. Reads can change after, but the spreadsheet is intended to be a snapshot at what people were thinking before the result was known.

I believe you that you had no reads prior to close, but having no empirical proof I don't think it would be fair to retroactively fill in.

How to make Word/LaTeX/PDF docs WCAG 2.1 (digital content accessibility) compliant, specifically for screen readers and visual impairment tools.
Oh, that's cool! I was reading (a very small amount) about that kind of stuff for pdfs specifically a few weeks ago, it's interesting...and, also. frustrating that the defaults aren't more accessibility friendly

The point is also to give a single word "town/mafia" for each player with no gradient or waffling or null reads

Things are getting better! The problem (for the college I work for) is that we have over 40K pieces of content on the academic side that need to be brought into compliance, and it's actually easier to start from scratch to make an accessible document than convert existing content into an accessible form.

But professors don't want to hear that, and certainly don't want to hear that they have three months to do it before fines start rolling in.

Yeah nobody likes to hear "it's actually easier to start over than to convert" but its so often the case

Glad things are getting better, sorry that professors are stubborn!

I have been in the process of converting all my course materials for the accessibility initiative. It is indeed *a lot*. Good cause though.

Didn't you have a wolfread on apop?

I mean... it was also said that giving a neutral read rather than a straight wolf or villager defeats the purpose of GTH but I did that anyways.

I don't actually find the GTH particularly useful so whether this information gets added or not doesn't bother me. I was just offering it in case it was wanted. If it isn't, that's okay too.

That fine 🙂 Functionally there is probably no difference between "neutral/no read" and "Did not respond."

I'm also dubious I learned much from the exercise, but maybe it'll be helpful down the road. If nothing else, maybe it's a useful template that others could use.
