Where? I remember him unwaveringly saying he was a mech clear mason until that statement .
He'd already said he knew his supposed neighbor was village but indicated they didn't actually know he was, hence my comment that masonry works both directions.

And then he was like "well it's a masonry for me"

Like yes, I get it, he lied, some people believe in yeet all liars (though I do find it a little amusing coming from AM specifically), whatever. I get it!

I just don't see how the entire context of the sequence of events of that claim is in any way something scum!Clem would do, vs villa Clem just doing stuff because he thinks it's funny.

The "oh yeah I need to tell you that this person isn't my mason partner because mason won't show up as our ability" thing was unprompted

No, it wasn't unprompted. I said it would presumably show up as an ability as and that's when he made the claim it wouldn't

Unless you mean the act of telling us dead people weren't a mason in the first place in which case sure, I guess that was unprompted but that wasn't where the inconsistencies started showing uo

And when I explicitly told him he was describing a neighbor more than 5 hours before the full retract, he said "if you say so" and continue to hold onto how he's a mason.

I don’t think it’s like a wolf pack Clem but could I believe he is something else and not villager behavior? Yes

I read that as tongue in cheek but it looks like that was just me

If that something else is required intentionally drawing attention to himself, yeah. There's a reason I asked if he was actually a jester yesterday lol

I mean yes, that's what I mean. That would be the first inconsistency, saying that it mattered for him to say a dead player wasn't his mason.

I feel like I'm talking in circles. I will continue to believe that entire context of the claim and how he went about explaining things makes no sense for scum, nor is it anything I've seen scum do unless they're intentionally drawing a vote. Certainly not if he's a singular big bad who would have even more reason not to want to draw attention to himself.

But like I said, y'all can yeet him, I just don't think it's the slam dunk everyone seems to think it is.

Final legacy I think we should yeet genny not Clem

I think we disagree on what we consider an inconsistency

I understand why you think it doesn't make sense for scum. I don't think it makes sense either... but I don't think it makes any sense for a villager either.

Jester, sure but I'm skeptical we have a jester in the same game as a sandbag because that's lame (sorry mods if this is actually the case).

I also don't think its a slam dunk. But I do think clems presence in the game is doing us more harm than good at this point.

That said, I'm open to a different vote if a better case arises. Just not seeing any reason to preserve clem.

I still think we should yeet Clem. Whether or not he's just Clem being Clem with that lie, his presence is just going to keep us divided when we should really be coming together.

Can you explain for the class how else you decide to vote for? Cuz like, for me it is largely inconsistencies. I get that this isn’t the end all be all, mechanics and reading a player in the context of who they are paired/unpaired with helps. But lies, about a mechanic that could affect how the rest of your theoretical village sees the world, don’t seem to be helpful to the village.

I also think genny is sus, but if we are going to make her the yeet instead of Clem, how specifically is her not being pokey more sus or dangerous than Clem?

No wonder you don't like how I play lol, I'm an inveterate liar

I’ll let Dubz answer first since you ask her but I got thoughts

Speak on this, I will do my best to assuage your concerns
I don’t know exactly how to put it in words. The asking about regrets and things feels like you’re accomplish something but I don’t know what it is
You tingle

It's pretty simple, I generally don't care how helpful or not people seem because that is as much a playstyle difference as it is an affiliation difference. Would it be cool if Clem was a little bit less cryptic and maybe played more straightforward? Sure it would make him easier to read, but I won't take the enjoyment of the chaos away from him. And I've played with many people like that through the years and you learn to adapt to it.

Like I said, I don't blame anyone for voting for him. I just probably won't be doing it.

I can't say that I have one specific way of deciding who to vote for. It's mostly based on vibes, and a fair bit of meta reads for people I have history with. I'm pretty decent at interaction analysis, but finding a singular big bad or the first wolf in a regular game is always a struggle for me. I'm sometimes okay at finding villagers.

I don't know if that answers your question lol I feel the clem issue has been beaten to death and I've been trying to disengage from it

this was helpful, thanks. I agree, I think ppl feel the way they feel about Clem, but this helps me understand your position a little better

My hang up is what benefit would scum have from coming out and going “I’m mason” on like page 2 when they know it’s a lie? They know when no other mason is going to flip the jig is up.
I think Clem is up to something. I think he deserves scrutiny but my thought is that genny is coasting and deserves scrutiny and pressure
