skimble did you have a different zombie a bit before this one was picked? I thought i saw one but then it changed
I briefly had a zombunny, but I didn't like the way it showed up, so I looked some more, and found this one and liked it. There is a pretty cute zombie horse too.

In your eyes, which players are those at this point?

So far I feel that Mel & SOV have tried to shut down the sort of collaboration that I think might be the only way to protect ourselves from zombies and wolves.

OMG! You guys, there was totally a group that the good guys ran into on the show called Wolves, and they were bad humans that would use zombies as weapons or in traps, and they were always in need of guns and bullets. They had to use other implements to kill.

I don't know how relevant that is here, but thought it was sorta cool there actually was a total parallel in the lore with the game of WW.

Normally yes...but you have to respect The source material. It is the whole premise of the show. Zombies bad. Maybe I am wrong, but I don’t see how any good comes of leaving them around,

If you guys disagree, we can wait..but I am afraid they infect more people, exponentially, but then how do we kill wolves?

Zombies aren't the issue as much as the humans scheming. Zombies don't infect people. They are just one other way of people being killed before their time. They are a threat and obstacle, but humans are more dangerous, and I would worry much more about inadvertently creating more zombies by killing the wrong people, or not focusing on the people who use them as just another tool.

I could cite example after example where it wasn't a zombie, but either the actions of an dingus or the mistake of a good guy, that led to disaster on TWD.

How do we know she's a zombie though? Also, lynching is what led to this in the first place. Couldn't lynching again have a similar effect?

Makes sense that items like bullets might be needed.

The lynch death write up mentioned knives... on the show, you can stab someone's brainstem so they don't come back a zombie. Otherwise death by stabbing = zombie.

Death by ACTUAL lynching, leads to zombies hanging in trees like dangling Christmas ornaments.

And how would you propose someone do something like this? "Nah bro, there definitely are fixed power roles. I definitely don't have one, but I would know because...?????"

It's paradoxical.
Are you daft? People out all sorts of stuff. I am preempting that stupidity. Move on. You are being foolish.

There was also a group of bad guys that used zombies to kill their foes... The Governor.

I'm confused. Are you saying an item would have to be used on someone to prevent zombism?

I can tell you haven't played with me in a while. lol

Just a reminder that there will not be punishments for ties in this game meaning 1. The tie-maker will not die and 2. Random players will not die.

:yeahright: I think Weimy and Dubz have had some influence on these mods....

Interesting thought, tin foil hat idea, what if the game starts low on wolves/zombies and the number increases as we lynch? Could be RNG if they rez zombie vs new survivor?

Well we lynched WM yesterday, so she wasn't infected so I wouldn't expect her to be a zombie. Now kc I don't trust if she is living longer then today or is rezzed after that.

Less tin foil hat theory:

Wolves have a delayed kill mechanism consistent with the theme of the show, and this is exactly what it appears to be.

How would a 3rd party's wolf hunting be that spot on given that KC posted like...twice yesterday, and if they were wolf hunting, why would they assume that someone who implied having an ability that was activated by the receipt of arrows was a wolf and not a village assassin or some such...and also since when are 3rd parties really that opposed to people outside their faction dying in the first place?

Edit to add: your numbers are also off. If she was looking for the arrows for a double kill, there would still likely be a wolf kill.

I guesssss if they had her doing the killing, and infection = block, then that would check out, but imo it would not be the smartest to have your as-yet-inactive double kill wolf draw that kind of attention on D1. Particularly because when an extra person ends up shot through with arrows the next night, people are probably gonna have some questions about that.

Extra tinfoil hat: The pack started with just one wolf and if infected correctly the wolf pack will increase slowly in numbers (probably unlikely unfair mechanic)

Yes, cuz while infected you are still alive, just sick and dying, and as soon as you are dead you become a zombie. If i'm remembering right, the zombieness was like a virus, the survivors just happened to be immune to the initial infection/"turning" but would turn into a zombie if they died whether bitten or not.

This makes me want to make sure kc dies before she becomes a zombie...

So far I feel that Mel & SOV have tried to shut down the sort of collaboration that I think might be the only way to protect ourselves from zombies and wolves.

I got that SOV was trying to promote collaboration with his talk of sharing items we use up. Mel was kinda shutting that down. But I don't want to lynch mel right away, because he is always super sketchy to me early game and he's a useful wolf hunter if he's village.

I'm confused. Are you saying an item would have to be used on someone to make them to prevent zombism?

I can tell you haven't played with me in a while. lol

I think I'm saying that we might need to do more than lynch to win. Rehab was similar that way. That's my best guess.

I think SOV has clarified that he wasn't trying to shut down villagers needing items from trying to get them. I was responding to a question of who I thought was trying to shut that down.

I don't know if it's SOV just trying to backtrack out of it, but since I'm not familiar with him (I need a new 3 letter grumpy old man in my life now that I have an LIS-shaped hole in it...), I'm willing to reserve judgment for now.

I'm not sure where I have Mel in all this, except I think he's been unhelpful to date.

Interesting. Yeah maybe we should be careful of win mechanics.. Everyone in rehab just kept taking drugs they were given - we didn't even question that there might be more then a simple ww win mechanism.

lynch kc

Because she's claiming she will stay alive after today's lynch and I don't like that one bit. Also would be interesting to test what happens when we lynch infected people.

This is actually how ties used to be handled.

Where would Weim have had the chance to be infected? It seemed to be a night action.

Rehab ultimately was just lynching though.

Interesting that you say this after what you said in your previous post.

Prevet: where cute zombie animals are what you look for while playing the walking dead werewolf. I like it here.
You are welcome to stay! We like you too! (or at least I do, but you know that!)

No, dubz would want MORE blood, not less.

Well we lynched WM yesterday, so she wasn't infected so I wouldn't expect her to be a zombie. Now kc I don't trust if she is living longer then today or is rezzed after that.
Everyone is infected. The simple act of dying makes you a zombie.

This makes me want to make sure kc dies before she becomes a zombie...
This is a fair assessment given the source material, but I have a feeling that is already set in motion... maybe? I hope.

I didn't play or read rehab, anyone care to give me a brief synopsis of what you are all referring to above?

There was some mechanic that when a villager took drugs and became addicted, they were "dead" in a sorts despite otherwise being able to vote and do all action. This was separate from normal wolf kills. Basically it allowed wolves to reach parity without numbers being equal. Also, wolves couldn't kill without having enough money from addition sales.

Though I was just doing basic wolf hunting in the dead chat and didn't understand a thing that was going on behind-the-scenes.

Yes, definitely lynch the person who was CLEARLY ATTACKED LAST NIGHT per the write up. That makes perfect sense.

Usually my assessments tend to fall in the same train with Snowy's, today all of her posts (in the last hour?) have made me twinge, leading up to the fact that she is lynching me, arguably one of the worst candidates today per the write up.

I clarified pretty clearly what happened to me last night, and you can even see in the thread where I originally stated I would be dying at lynch close, a mod quoting that with a "hmm", and then me quoting both and questioning my original statement. And then later clarifying that mod-shenanigans happened behind the scenes and maybe I wouldn't die. I would be sketched out by me saying I wouldn't die at lynch close too, except for the fact that you can follow it right on thread.

The logic here is so off I can't help but

In the show everyone would be doing their best to save a person that had been bitten, not kill them off, unless it was too far gone and they asked to be killed.

A bite to the stomach is too far gone, but likely they would wait and let the person die prior to impaling them through the skull.

I still disagree. Maybe I'm on cray's line of thinking that mechanics might be different. I don't trust those infected rn unless someone thinks there's a way to heal you, I don't want to risk you going bad on us.

That's what I was saying. I don't think WM would become a zombie even though she was rezzed because she wasn't infected.
If she died, and came back as the same person, she's a zombie as far as source material is concerned. I'm not ready to go there yet because I guess there could be other mechanisms for her return. Has Weim even posted today?

If you're following a Rehab line of thinking (though I still think discussing mechanics in that game was distracting from wolf hunting), shouldn't you not be lynching kc?

Are you saying he's like DocE or STL where if he doesn't deliver a wolf by d5 we should lynch him? :heckyeah:

Can someone explain why we're going with the assumption that everyone is infected already? Did I miss that in the opening post or did I miss a huge fundamental fact of the show? Like I thought in the beginning (as I said I haven't seen past like season 4) people like Carl, Daryl, Rick, Maggie etc were all normal healthy humans trying not to get bit, in which case then they would be infected?

No one is standing out to me yet today. Could the real wolves please stand up?
I got yelled at for making almost this exact post in my first game on SDN.

As one of our resident recovered late voters, and still a total waffler, I've been told that registering "concerns" on thread is not like putting your money where your mouth is by actually voting. It's not for nothing, but still...
I'm putting my money where my mouth is. Vote for Allieh.

So far I feel that Mel & SOV have tried to shut down the sort of collaboration that I think might be the only way to protect ourselves from zombies and wolves.
I didn't shut down collaboration, I shut down willy nilly role/ability revealing. I can see what SOV is saying about this being a vanillager game with rotating items, and therefore talking roles/abilities doesn't matter. However, we've only seen one person flip. While I believe that theory should certainly be on the table I am not apt to put stock in it until I have more data points, and until that theory is proven I think it wise that we stop being callous about revealing.

Pssstt Melby voted. Poor guy is gonna be confused, off studying...

LOL thank you, I was confused why I was being roll called.

In the show a bite causes a fatal illness which then leads to zombification. It was a later discovery that anyone that died even of natural causes was destined to become zombified as well.

Hmmm, ok. That makes more sense; I must not have gotten that far yet.

But if that is the case here and everyone we lynch/any wolf kills end up as zombies we are rapidly going to be overrun with zombies so there must be an aspect we are missing.
I agree. Going back to my other thought; I think an item to kill zombies must be out there.

Weird to post about reading the thread. You would just read it, right. Seems a bit defensive to me.
