The WWalking Dead-Game Thread

Zombies aren't the issue as much as the humans scheming. Zombies don't infect people. They are just one other way of people being killed before their time. They are a threat and obstacle, but humans are more dangerous, and I would worry much more about inadvertently creating more zombies by killing the wrong people, or not focusing on the people who use them as just another tool.

I could cite example after example where it wasn't a zombie, but either the actions of an dingus or the mistake of a good guy, that led to disaster on TWD.
I like this

I think I'm saying that we might need to do more than lynch to win. Rehab was similar that way. That's my best guess.
Can someone give me a rundown of rehab mechanics?

There was some mechanic that when a villager took drugs and became addicted, they were "dead" in a sorts despite otherwise being able to vote and do all action. This was separate from normal wolf kills. Basically it allowed wolves to reach parity without numbers being equal. Also, wolves couldn't kill without having enough money from addition sales.
Nvm

Ok wolf seer, glad you guys are so concerned with my one time kill that you felt the need to come up with this item plot despite others blatantly asking for weapon ammo as well. What was the name of the item? It's awfully convenient that the person who has the item tonight cannot even corroborate the item because duh...they'd be dead meat.
Except we're going to Lynch mel tomorrow if you don't flip wolf

Sherriff's Hat - It may not mean much in a zombie filled world, but tonight you may choose to seer one player to determine their affiliation.

If you do not choose a player to seer, one will be chosen for you by RNG.

What is even happening right now
Cray just slow down and read the posts. Mel is claiming he used an item to seer allie and was told she is a wolf. Allie says she's not one. It's not that hard.

Oh don't worry I'm lynching her tomorrow. She's been subtly trying to discredit me and make me seem wolfy, but didn't actually vote until the threat of Allie getting lynched got real.

what is the tally?

I'm considering switching my vote off Mel, but I want to try to avoid the shenanigans I've caused doing so the last 8 games in a row

What would you have done tomorrow if allie flipped village?
I am guessing I would have read some tap dancing from mel which may or may not been enough to see a lynch go to someone else. To clarify this was before he said he seered her (call me oblivious if you wish for not having figured that from what he posted earlier) which is when I voted.

Idk she did the same thing to me last game and was village there.

Which...might be a good thing for wolf cray to imitate. Just saying it's almost exactly the same reaction she had to my info on pip. And she continued to throw shade at me even after pip flipped wolf.

unlynch mel,lynch allie
Have been trying to wrap my head around why a wolf would lie about a seer result (which is much more concrete than just saying you really ought to vote for this person I was casting suspicion on earlier) and I just can't make it work where they would be able to talk their way out of the next day lynch.

WTF is this even?

I've been trying to gamesolve all day despite actually having a life today for once, AND I just said I'd come off you once you actually explained yourself

JFC nothing you've done up until item-revealing (which I still don't get why you and SOV have acting the way you have about it, difference in gamestyle maybe) has made your affiliation clear

You don't make any sense to me half the time Mel, and then you just call anyone wolfy that doesn't fall in line with your thinking

I don't even give a frak if you end up right about Allie, I won't apologize for thinking that you are pushy as a player in a way that is frankly counterproductive for village

the way you stir stuff up as a villager is exactly what you do as a wolf

it's annoying and confusing as all hell

Wish I wouldn't have mentioned that someone looked into my soul last night. Wonder how Mel would have spun this on me then.

I also don't appreciate calling into question the timing of my vote when I've been 100% upfront about all the details of the timing of my gameplay choices today.

I said I would try to drop my vote by 4 pm when my friend gets home, at 2 pm. yes, for 2 hours I showered and took a few unexpected phone calls and then 4 pm happened. She came home and we went out to eat.

I had to vote from my phone (hence the hashtags) in the car before going to the grocery store.

I'm about ready to start cursing at you and I don't want to play like that. I don't even give a shyte that you are threatening me or that you feel the way you do about what I've said about you. The way you are construing the timing of my vote... that pisses me off. Because I go above and beyond to give this game 100% at all times

Day 1:
It was a beautiful day, the sun set as some were returning from their runs, the clouds in the sky turned the most beautiful pink and peach colors. Before Alexandria's gates were even pushed open they could hear the shouting. They pulled in and rushed over to see the entire town gathered together, in an uproar. Fingers were being pointed, and two men got into a scuffle, but in no time they were pulled apart and Rick's voice bellowed over the chaos, "Everyone listen! We have been through a lot, and I know tensions are high but we have to keep our wits about us. There are some among us that would threaten all that we have, all that we have worked for. We need to decide now, who goes." Everyone glanced around nervously, but then set their eyes on one. The survivors drew in closer to him, some pulled out knives, others pistols, but no bullets were needed to drain the light from his eye. His eyepatch fell to the floor, followed by his body. Everyone backed away slowly, some seemed sure of their decision, others stared, eyes wide and mouths agape, "What have we done?". In the midst of all the chaos, blood, and shouting, no one noticed that one was not the same as they were before. . .

Dead is

@allieh8607, the Governor, and a wolf.

Meh. Allie is going down. Doesn't really matter who I vote for at this point now that Mel has outed Allie. You can spin it as I'm wolfy for jumping on Allie's lynch, or I'm wolfy for voting for a non-Allie.

Why would voting for a non-allie be wolfy?

I understand your IRL commitments and your dedication to the game and am in no way questioning either of them.

But a number of your posts all have the common theme of "Mel isn't trustworthy" where you mention other players but always end up circling back to me.
As one of our resident recovered late voters, and still a total waffler, I've been told that registering "concerns" on thread is not like putting your money where your mouth is by actually voting. It's not for nothing, but still...

If everyone decided they weren't going to engage in the unpleasant business of RVS then no one would get lynched D1, or it would be more of a ****show than it already is. I get that it's a data point on yourself that can get wrongly used against you later, but I don't see why others are expected to put themselves out there while you hold back that info on yourself.

I get this is all a personal play style type situation, but I'm still going to express my extreme displeasure. Obviously we can WIFOM ourselves all day long about your choice to do this, which is also why I find it unhelpful to village even if it's not clear how wolfy this move by you is.

I've made similar comments where I felt my vote didn't "matter" in that it didn't affect outcome, that's pretty common in WW. I still think you should be expected to commit yourself by voting.

Mel, normally I would agree with you on being cagey about needing items... except so far, it doesn't seem like there's any PM'ing allowed, and perhaps items get RNG'd, but perhaps the reason people are asking for them is because they're not getting RNG'd....

I'm starting to wonder if this is like the show TWD, where working together with what little weaponry you have is the only way to combat the wolf/human/zombie whatever threats there are. And hunt squirrels to eat.

I didn't really think about KC's affiliation not coming up with her being bit. Thinking about that is starting to hurt my brain as far as mechanics, but I think it's worth thinking about. We don't know what if any action we need to take on WM or KC given what we know of the mechanics so far.

Not seeing where the mod was calling for blood outside of the people tied.... we were told that no one would be punished touching a tie.

As far as the SOV comment, I mean, sure, you can read it innocently enough, but I mean... c'mon, really, that didn't raise any eyebrows for you?

I'm really wondering at the players that seem to want to shut down village working together on this, when it seems like it's the only way to go. It sorta reminds me of the Rehab game that way.

So far I feel that Mel & SOV have tried to shut down the sort of collaboration that I think might be the only way to protect ourselves from zombies and wolves.

OMG! You guys, there was totally a group that the good guys ran into on the show called Wolves, and they were bad humans that would use zombies as weapons or in traps, and they were always in need of guns and bullets. They had to use other implements to kill.

I don't know how relevant that is here, but thought it was sorta cool there actually was a total parallel in the lore with the game of WW.

I think SOV has clarified that he wasn't trying to shut down villagers needing items from trying to get them. I was responding to a question of who I thought was trying to shut that down.

I don't know if it's SOV just trying to backtrack out of it, but since I'm not familiar with him (I need a new 3 letter grumpy old man in my life now that I have an LIS-shaped hole in it...), I'm willing to reserve judgment for now.

I'm not sure where I have Mel in all this, except I think he's been unhelpful to date.

Just got back from dinner, in car to grocery store, so I'm lost and have no idea where to go.

I'm going to vote

###lynch Mel###

Because I feel like he's doing more to confuse than help. He usually does both any game, but the balance seems towards confuse more than help this game, and the balance is often more telling than the fact he's doing both.
So timing of your lynch vote aside:
Allie (and by extension you as part of the wolf pack) gets notified she was seered last night.
I am the first person to vote for her today.
Not hard to connect those dots.
Your first analysis post of the day is directly aimed at discrediting me.
You keep up this regime of undermining me, throwing other player's names into the mix.

At the very least this would have forced me to out myself if I was a true ability seer, at the worst it would have gotten me lynched. I got lucky in that it was an item and I was ready to item claim at the end of the day anyway.

Wish I wouldn't have mentioned that someone looked into my soul last night. Wonder how Mel would have spun this on me then.
Honestly I'm hacked off that no one connected "oh Allieh is practically saying she got seered. Oh Mel (who never votes without reasons) is voting for her"

The phrasing just seemed to suggest a dual nature

I was just looking at the straight result. Converted is normally added to the flip if that's what type of wolf it is.

I’m now looking hard at those who pushed hard against me when I voted allieh d1, less so cray, because I’m pretty sure she’s village, and I’ll eat my hat if I’m wrong on that one.
I regret ever using that phrase...
