For the record, I am one of the people saying STL is village (though the above post did sketch me out a bit).

But also for the record, and STL can attest to this (while probably swearing at me), I always encourage lynching him mid- to late-game. 🙂

I really DON'T like this "don't put someone forward as a villager, otherwise they'll be converted" crap.

If we don't settle on likely villagers, we're just going to spend all day going 'round and 'round and randomly lynching people because everyone stays suspect.

Yeah. Settling on someone as very likely village makes them a potential convert. But we HAVE to settle on people who are village, just as the opposite of settling on people who are likely wolf. It's how you lynch wolves.

So anyway. I strongly disagree with you and STL and this "you're making me/him a conversion target" thing. Sure, that's true, but it's irrelevant.

OMG. Nobody - least of all me - is CLEARING STL. (Or PBC.)

It's all just shifting people into buckets of likeliness. How else do you want to narrow in on who is suspicious?

STL isn't just a CONVERT risk; he's an INITIAL WOLF risk. All I'm saying is that from what I see of his play, voting, etc., I think he's <most likely> an initial villager.

Man. People are making a lot more out of this than makes sense. Which sends red flags up to me.

As I've already explained I had figured Genny was going to be a definite lynch either day 1 or day 2. I noticed a certain change in the cadence of Britzen's posts which pinged my interest. I don't consider throwing out some names and getting a lie of the land from others to be 'waffling on and off people', nor do I consider it stretching. I've already said my game style is to go by intuition/feels first off, and often that's not something I can point to specifically - so I put out some names, let people know what my gut instinct is leaning me more towards, and then try to listen to, and analyse what others have to say. So yes it will mean an ever shifting life of 'wolf leans' but I did eventually stay with the person who at least turned out to be neutral and was also leaning towards the other persons most likely to have been wolves in my opinion, and the opinion of others it seems.

If lynching me gets the focus back on finding wolves, then fine, I'll take it on the chin. But I'll just reiterate again you will be lynching a villager, who, if nothing else, is at least participating as much as possible, and trying to do their best (even if my game style is a little, shall we say 'unique'). I would also suggest that if I am lynched then analysing the voting patterns afterwards might prove useful. I am an easy target for a wolf to shift suspicion onto, and away from themselves, simply because my game style does mean I am hard to read sometimes, and people do end up defaulting me to wolf (wrongly, again, this game). I would be suspicious of anyone leading the vote against me for that very reason - shift focus onto an easy lynch target, and people aren't looking at wolves.

Here's the thing.

Fact) You yourself say you have a game style that leads people to think you are a wolf;

Fact) You claim to want strongly to find wolves on behalf of the village;

Therefore ...

Wouldn't you adjust your play style to be a little less sketchy?

... just a thought.

And, the whole "evaluate people who lynch me" thing seems like an awkward move intended to scare people from voting for you. Especially from someone who just got done openly stating that their play style engenders wolf suspicions.

I'm personally happy to break this egg and find out if Ceke is being truthful or not:

I think some of both. I think it's too hard to evaluate - some wolves, if they could easily find their way there, would vote it. Some would just throw other safe votes. Some probably threw an early vote and didn't bother moving. It's just too hard to tell.

If I were wolfing, this would have been a place I might throw a vote for another wolf, especially one I thought was likely to die soonish. Why not - build a little cred for later, maybe.

Bottom line, I'm not sure you can make much of it. But if you do, I'm all ears.

Eh. No excuse needed, because I thought it was a decent response. I felt like Pippy's comments about STL's Cyndia post were ......... just a little over-the-top. Kinda trying to start something where there isn't anything. I certainly felt like STL's comments were unusually crystal clear.

Of course, maybe that's a red flag. I usually can't understand STL. 🙂

This (the info) is so cool. I almost feel guilty for wanting to lynch you. But not quite.

I've never had absinthe. Sorta on my "I should try that some day" list, but I never remember.

So does the constant cold water infusion (plus the bit of sucrose with it) change the flavor of the drink as you progress through it??

Just an observation, that it seems like this will be a heavy PM mechanic game, based on the roster changes AND mod mentioned in thread items distributed; I know I have received a PM box.

When the game mechanics are skewed heavily for PMs, often the thread goes kinda quiet, and it becomes even more difficult than usual to know who is quiet on thread but still active in game, vs people who are totally silent overall. Plus there is an extra element of he said/she said.

Not sure what to do with this at all....
 
How I am grouping players in my mind. I want to hear more from Fern, raf, dreamz, rabbott, kam, dubz. In my mind the quietest.

I feel like there is a pack at work (of course!)

My likes are plentiful and randomish, as are some other players too, I'm sure. I just reread all the pages! Looking at votes, quotes, likes, it starts to feel as though there are "sides" - I just can't tell which is the village and which the pack.

"Snowy - St. George Absinthe - If used right, absinthe is the muse of many an artist! If used wrong....well lets just say there's a reason you were illegal for nearly a 100 years. Snowy was neutral until converted."

Begs more questions about Snowy's relationship with the pack. I don't know what triggers conversion in Snowy's case - is this a specific WW mechanic or something special to this game? Serious question, I don't know, guys.

LIS, STL, and DVMD feel like they are all on the same "side." I can't tell if this is just play style, friendship, Team Village, or just the way that wolf logic will blend in with good villager thinking. Last night Trilt and I were called back to the bar for an emergency. Turns out the drinks decided to have a post-game party after all the people left, and turned the oven into a dance club. As the drinks danced and danced, none of them noticed the heat rising, and those who did just assumed it was the general heat of sweaty, steamy bodies writhing on the dancefloor. Before they knew it, the oven was at boiling temperature and someone slammed closed the door! They banged hard on the door until the glass broke through, but this also leaked the fire from the burners into the kitchen and soon the whole thing was ablaze. Most of the drinks made it out, but unfortunately one didn't make it out....

11. @finnickthedog - Water - a versatile and dependable drink who only brought out the best in other spirits, Finn could submit a name each night in hopes of converting someone to village.

On a different note looks like it finally happened folks! After weeks of will they? wont they? drama looks like last night was the tipping point in a very special relationship between @LadyOtheFarm and @Cyndia. We'll see how long they last 😉

We had a really sketchy guy come in for the soft opening last night, and he brought a bunch of beer coozies, which is cool I guess? But they're all branded with some new brand of cigarettes? IDK weird, but ALL BEERS ARE UNLYNCHABLE TODAY DUE TO BEER COOZIE ITEM.

So, just to clarify something about my ask-a-mod results from yesterday -- it looks like no lupine conversions after all, because of Finn's role. The message I got back kind of implied that it was making people good, but I didn't really think that could be a thing, so I chalked it up to mod flair.

But, that maybe means we did start with a higher number of bad guys than I thought. (Closer to 5 woofs instead of 4).

Ok, just want to say that I get the paranoia thing to a degree, but personally tend to play it up a little bit for reasons that dubz called out (and for lulz). If this post is not an exaggeration, this is a little much. You have no one who you feel is acting villa? Really? Not trying to say this is woofy in origin or anything, just...woah.
 
I am interested in what blocking mechanisms may or may not be in play, because the only night we've had a double kill is the night we also had the rez. Makes sense to have the rez on night one, but I think it is possibly a little odd that there was the double kill on the same night. Before people flip their **** at me for fishing...not trying to out any village roles. But I am genuinely interested in whether anyone was blocked last night (or has been straight up blocked at all, actually).

What was your exact question and results yesterday for the conversion question? I'm too lazy to find your post right now, but from what I remember you said there would be 1 conversion possible, and I feel like your info is false (or you're lying) if finns role could convert things, and if the neutral role could be converted.

Mod results from last night made it seem that someone was maybe attempting to kill me last night but I was protected? Not sure, here is the snippet from results:

"Its a good thing too, because you get the ominous feeling somebody was watching you. You should probably thank who ever convinced you to go to another bar, but unfortunately you blacked out and forgot who."

A couple of things aren't adding up with cyndia/Dubz, and I want to figure out if it's because of the players or some misinterpretation from the mods. So I may be going in one of those two directions today...

Did you consider the possibility that Finn could ONLY convert the neutral OR chaos, hence there is no contradiction to my info at all? Or are we going to immediately jump to me being dodgeball?

Honestly, converting one of the third parties would make a lot more sense than her being able to convert something lupine to something town.

The results I got were super drunk -- it was pretty hard to decipher what was being said. I believe we're not allowed to quote mod PMs at all, otherwise I would copy/paste and let you try to figure it out.

And I'm on my phone, so no -- I am not going to do other people's legwork for them and dig up my original post right now. (EDIT: thanks, Ski)

Believe me or don't, but consider that it would be somewhat stupid for me to share ask-a-mod results at ALL if I was a baddie -- which is one of the things I pointed out when my manatee was getting lynched for it. Like seriously, you both think the gains of a move like that would outweigh the risks?

Side eyeing dubz pretty damn hard right now for jumping there, despite having more ticks for her in the trustworthy column based off of the genny lynch.

(Sorry for the grump; just got utterly destroyed by my physio exam and am a little reactive right now).

No need to be so snarky, I was just asking for clarification - I didn't consider Finn converting the neutral, but that makes sense (I automatically took it to mean converting wolves and actually wondered how the wolves would be kept in the game if they were converted to village). I also sent stl a message before realizing I'd been moved, so clearly I'm not mondaying well.
 
Also missed Ski's posts, but my thought was towards the more specific wording @PippyPony since there was some clarification about it yesterday after your initial post. The rules say no quoting mod PM's, so I take that to mean copy & paste is oki doki.

Cyndia - Not entirely sure I agree with STL's interpretation of the ability or how she's used it. Pretty good info lynch. I'm still a little unclear on the discrepancy between her stuff and my stuff so might end up voting here since i know everything is on the up and up on my end.
Ceke - So like, idk, reading over some of her posts from yesterday I got this feeling of sincerity. I ended the day thinking "Oh jeez maybe she really is village." I may in fact be a sucker. I'm not going to tell anyone else not to vote for her...I just probably won't. I'm thinking some kind of really low power chaos at worst. Her ability is pretty useless for a wolf.
Rabbott - moving up in the world. Need to see more from him.
Ski - Idk. Just a feeling. Will be ISOing posts.
Cray - Snowy's lynch was unhelpful in deciding anything here. Again, keeping her up here because I'll just ignore her if I don't, and that could be bad.
BBC - I've decided I was tunneling due to grumpiness. Will keep an eye there, but moving to neutral zone.

I'm going to continue to reread and make adjustments, but this is where I'm at right now, which is pretty much...nowhere.
 
~Clarification on no quoting Mod PM’s: no using the quote function feel free to “copy/paste” what ever it is you are claiming we said. I feel like the quote function may be misused to imply a false sense of mod trustworthiness but copy paste feature is implied it may or may not be a direct quote~

What I’m saying what STL did is fine for example.

Gah, I'm annoyed I've been moved and can't message either of you. So - I gave stl exactly what my results were and my reasoning behind using it the way I did, he's welcome to copy and paste it with you if you want to see why I was a little confused.

Since I broke rules by messaging him by accident, I'll also post what I said to him on here - I didn't use it last night. If it's an active ability, I trust the results and it may have been mod flair. If it's passive, then I question if n2 meant something different.

Reasons why I'm side eyeing whoever has the moving people ability...it's disrupting communication networks more than it's helping anything.

I'll just wait for STL to get back on. He may be able to explain things a little better, but right now I think mod flair may be the issue.

I had an item last night that allowed me to get the night results of a random player, but I didn't know who the player was.
the results said: "You try to sit by yourself and play Quarters but women from the Bachelorette party keep coming up and asking for a top up. You grumble because the constant harassment is messing with your aim, and you miss, sorry no protection for you tonight."

(there is apparently another night result that the same person also got that hasn't been worked out by the mods yet, but I'll get that message too when it comes through.)

to me, it sounds like whoever's night results these are can protect, but wasn't successful last night. So that leads me to 2 possibilities:
either STL is lying about his protection or there is more than one protection mechanism out there in the game still

Quarters is a self-protection item. You choose a number and if it matches the item RNG you're protected (I think from all actions, need to double check that) for the night. Sounds like whoever's results you got was blocked, potentially due to the bachelorette party thing? Idk because my role wasn't affected by the party.

ah ok this makes sense. didn't realize quarters was a self-protection item. That makes me lean towards believing STL's protection, and back to the double kill every other night theory
 
OR there is a blocker in the game (possible based on WZ's explanation there) and the wolves have an extra kill every night, and on N2 one of the killing wolves happened to be blocked, so only 1 kill, and on N3 the killing target (STL) was protected, so only 1 kill.

but having 2 kills every night seems a little too wolf-leaning for the game.. so idk. but if there was someone blocked on N2, it might be interesting to know who that was.

if someone is able to block and they were successful at blocking a kill, would the blocker be notified about it?

I believe typically blockers (straight block, not jailkeep) are notified of successful/not successful blocking, but not what other actions (if any) were performed on the blocking target, or what actions they successfully blocked.
