It says "NOT a fillable PDF". That's their way of telling you not to spend an hour trying to figure out how to type in it. It doesn't say "Do NOT type out your responses". Personally I'm going to photoshop text onto it.. if I ever get it, that is.

I was looking for this earlier...couldn't find it. I don't think they have a strong regional bias though.



For those who haven't received a secondary yet...I wonder if you are missing a pre-req? :

Pre-requisite Coursework
8 semester hours of Biology/Zoology with Lab
8 semester hours of Inorganic Chemistry
8 semester hours of Organic Chemistry with Lab*
8 semester hours of Physics
*Four semester units of Biochemistry may be substituted for the second semester of Organic Chemistry.

Non-science Coursework
6 semester hours of English
6 semester hours of Behavioral Sciences
3 semester hours of Math/Statistics
 
Would anyone mind posting the secondary application questions? Thank you!!
 
My scanner isn't working, so I sent it through the mail. I'm probably being neurotic, but is it okay if I sent it in a standard business envelope by folding the pages of the application in third? Or should I have sent it in one of those large envelopes and not fold the application?

Just got an email saying they received my secondary (I faxed it yesterday) and that it is now processing!
 
Is anyone handwriting the application since the PDF is not fillable? I have no idea how to do the adobe thing you were talking about, but I don't want my application to look bad either. My handwriting is fine, this just seems kind of old school.

Also, for the references sheet, are you all just putting people who already wrote you references? My advisor already sent them my committee letter and my letter packet so I'm not sure what I should put for that page..

I hand wrote it. I'm guessing that it's perfectly acceptable since you can't fill it in online. I'm sure there's a way to fill it out on a computer but I didn't go through the trouble.

A fillable PDF is special type of form with pre existing slots for text. It's great, but not easy to create and they are just avoiding the cost of upgrading to it. If they wanted hand written, they would say so.

I wonder why some people got secondaries and others didnt? my stats arent awful but they arent amazing solely based on numbers

Yeah, they won't screen you out here...they are the standard 3.0/25 I think.

But, they were one of the last schools to wrap up the 2012 acceptance season, so I bet they are just playing catchup!

I have a mac, and Preview allows you to enter text boxes so that you can type out your responses. I know it was a lot of trouble, but I am pleased with the end result.

seems strange that i got a secondary and people with better stats than me didnt? im 3.25 cum 3.29 science 26 mcat. maybe im just lucky lol

Yea, I've learned in the MD school threads that stats aren't everything at this point. Wake Forest pre-screens secondaries and some IS 3.6/3.6/30 people got screened out while lots of OOS students with lower stats got screened in... Makes no sense.
 
Finally got that illusive secondary!

But I realized I classified one of my English classes wrong, so they told me I don't meet the English requirement lol

Just got an email saying I am deficient 2 credits of ochem( my lab) and 3 credits of English and they will not re-open my application until I complete them! I am signed up to take those classes before I would matriculate and was under the assumption that's all I needed. Maybe the rest of you with no secondary are in the same boat.

Got it today too. Apparently I am deficient in behavioral science. But they stated that I only had to complete it before (if) matriculating and I was okay to move along in the application process.

Hmm, my email said I would not receive a secondary until I took the classes, had you already received the secondary when you got the email. I am calling tomorrow
 
I'm deficient because either I or AACOMAS messed up.. I took the classes, but they aren't on my AACOMAS.
 
I really want to go here for medical school! What are my chances?

3.5ish cGPA, 3.0ish sGPA, 24Q MCAT (for sure retaking Aug 23)

My stats are low, but I have great ECs and LORs (including one from a DO). Other than the stats, I do believe I am a good candidate but I could be completely wrong.

Please HELP!

Minimum mcat is 25 you'll be screened out
 
Dude... Use the what are my chances thread... Don't just post on every school... You need a 29+ MCAT to pull off that GPA
 
Called admissions today, they are not sending any secondaries to people who have not completed the science pre-reqs (English/Math are ok). I am only missing a lab which I am taking this fall but still no secondary for me till I finish the lab. Wish I would have known about this sooner, this was one of my top choices.

Secondary received (finally)! If anyone is curious: 3.1 cGPA, 3.1 sGPA, 28 MCAT. Released 7/13/12.

Just an idea: check on the specific Touro-NV pdf version of your AACOMAS app (does that make sense? on the AACOMAS homescreen go down to Touro-NV and click view) and make sure you meet all their pre-reqs. They'll list them for you right after the activities section. I had misclassified one of my courses, so it showed I was deficient 3 credits of behavioral science. I received my secondary a few days later than everyone else with an email saying I needed 3 more units of behavioral science. It seems like that was the reason mine was delayed.

I already got the deficient email, but I let them know that it was a mistake and AACOMAS was updating this week.

I just checked and I don't have any deficient credits. I will wait until end of next week to call and ask whats going on. Being from CA, this school is close to home hence one of my top choices.
 
School has received my secondary materials. Waiting for an invite from here. :xf:😍
 
Did anyone else have problems squeezing everything into the Personal Education and Health-Related Employment sections? Did you guys just use a tiny font size?

Don't worry man, you're ballin' already with interviews at DMU and AZCOM. I wouldn't mind trading places with you haha. I'm sure they'll send you one soon enough...and if not, it's definitely their loss. That is weird though, I'm not sure if they're screening with some strange criteria or just catching up on reading apps.

Same here man. Being a CA resident, this is one of my top choices as well. When were you complete? I would definitely try to get in touch with them soon.

I completed the app. on my computer using a program called PDF-XChange Viewer to type the information in. And yes, there were a few places where the font got pretty small (like size 9) but I tried to still keep it readable.

Thanks for the kind words. The only logical thing I can think of is the fact that my AACOMAS currently shows that I haven't taken (and don't plan on taking) physics 2. It's a mistake that will get fixed in this week's update though. But I'm sure touro sends out secondaries to traditional students who at this point may or may not have completed physics 2. Oh well.
