I seriously think this is the case!
I seriously think this is the case!
I wasn't aware there were quite a bit of people still waiting from 10/9.
Hopefully we hear back soon.
A waitlist would definitely be killer though, April or May? 😱😱😱
I hope they reviewed only half of the people and all of us who havent heard back could still be accepted!
To people who are interested in this school, what do you like about it? I have an ii for November 18th, but I'm trying to decide whether or not to go. I have an acceptance from Campbell and did two other interviews with UNE and NSU (I'm from the east coast). Is there anything that makes this school stand out compared to others?
Yup!Are there still those who have interviewed and did not hear anything past that "week of October 21st" deadline?
Still in the dark about my fate and didn't get a chance to contact the school directly this past week.

Yup!
Thanks for sharing!Hey All,
Just called Touro-NV and got an update on my status. For those of us who interviewed on 10/9 in the evening session--Miss Amber said they were sadly unable to get to be able to review us then and that was the cause of the delay. She said we will be reviewed within the next 2 weeks.
Very happy to hear that I wasn't rejected/wait listed and I still have a shot.
Another 2 weeks isn't gonna kill me!
I was recently accepted to this school and I am torn between here and LECOM-B. I am a non-traditional student. Can anyone comment on the diversity and acceptance of older students at this school?
I heard that lectures are 8 hours a day? Is this true, seems like the polar opposite of PBL.
I wish we were able to sit in on part of a lecture during the interview, then I would know for sure if I preferred that over pbl. I am an older student, out of college for some time now, so I don't know which learning style suits me better.
Can anyone explain how a typical first year lecture might run at TUNCOM?
For example, do we focus on a specific system or topic the whole time? Is their something like a "syllabus"?
Are lectures really 8 hours each day?
Info is greatly appreciated, this is my only source
Do you guys have any suggestions on hotels near TUNCOM?
Thank you for the great info! Some days have eight hours of lecture but that is very rare. We have a half day on tuesday for OMM and thursday are usually light. Friday we get out at 3pm. We only have a couple mandatory class such as OMM and IHM (ethics based course) the rest are recorded and available online. I tend to skip class and watch them when I'm ready. We have some PBL components in biochemistry and histology/physiology but much of it is traditional lecture based. I graduated from USF in Tampa and I have many friends who love LECOM-B but I liked having the structure that this curriculum provides. Its not a true organ based curriculum but there is allot of overlap. I find it very flexible. We have a couple non traditional students and I have not heard any worries over time. Yes theirs a syllabus I'm pretty sure every school has some set requirements even PBL. These PBLs have quiz components which are pretty good at keeping me on tract. The lectures are in hour blocks so you might get 2 hours of biochem in the morning then an hour of histology then an hour of anatomy an hour lunch break then 4 hours of anatomy lab. We have combined exams that test all of our subjects once every 3 weeks these will be very helpful for boards I feel. Im sure if you wanted to sit in on a lecture it shouldn't be much of an issue.
Hmm, I still havent received anything yet.
No email of acceptance or no email of wait list.
Maybe that means I have a rejection pending in the mail?
In any case--I will call by Thursday if I havent heard back.
I really liked the school, and felt I owned the interview--though my interviewers did mention some possible red flags. Now I know how those NSU guys feel!
You applied kinda late. I think right now, for a lot of schools, they are putting their efforts on the people they have interviewed. I think they are going through them first, and then go back and look at applications.
They always returned my calls, they must be super busy. 😕
Do you guys have any suggestions on hotels near TUNCOM?
If cost is an issue (for me it certainly was), the Fiesta Henderson hotel/casino was like 39 bucks a night. Granted it's absolutely nothing special, but it's a place to sleep and only 5 min from the school.Do you guys have any suggestions on hotels near TUNCOM?
I submitted the secondary earlier this week and received an email today saying that I am complete. Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you for you hear back regarding an II? The email said 4 weeks.
Much appreciated if a current student could answer these questions about TUNCOM curriculum:
Is the curriculum at all systems-based?
How much, if any, standardized patient interaction is there?
Is there any prep for clinicals before 3rd year?
FYI- Ive been complete since 9/4 and im still waiting to hear anything. It could be a while! ( Oos, ~3.5, 31)

jonnyquiznos and jmarkant, thanks a lot guys!
I have narrowed my choices down to TUN and WVSOM, but I feel myself leaning toward TUN definitely. Especially because I'm from SoCal so family and friends are all there and rotations are probably easier to set up in Cali. Although I like not having to move as well for the Vegas rotations.
The WVSOM campus is much much nicer, but how are the study space opportunities around TUN (including surrounding coffee shops/ libraries)?

very similar situation. would like to know this exact question.
How are the facilities, it's just the one building right? I like the fact that Campbell has an undergrad attached to it and has those resources.
How do people feel about board prep, academics, rotation sites etc?
Cancelling my interview for November 12th. Good luck everyone!
Awesome I hope it goes well for you!!!I got an invite today, and I think I just took your spot. Hahah thanks!
When did you send in your secondary, if you don't mind me asking?I got an invite today, and I think I just took your spot. Hahah thanks!

Yay, see you next summer!deposit down for class of 2018!!!
Is there a Facebook group to join yet? Couldn't find one
So pointers on how to ace the interview or about how what the interview to acceptance ratio is?
Any social missions?
Any particular benefits or connections to state a +?
Is this a first choice for most people or is this a school that will recieve a ton of waitlist movement come Dec 15 to Aug?
+1TUNCOM why must you torment me so!
Still waiting to hear back from 10/9. TUNCOM shot to my number one and I really wish to go here!
Huh really? You guys should check that your contact info is correct. Cuz I got the results already and I interviewed 10/9 am session.
The evening session was delayed--they weren't able to review us so our decision is pushed back. We should know by Friday I believe.
Were you accepted?
