Just wanted everyone to know that the WL has started moving. Got my acceptance in the mail this afternoon! I wish you all the best of luck with this and all your WL's, and if you're accepted at UConn and looking for a roommate, please PM me!

Ok, maybe I'm just being a ***** (which is highly likely) but I still can't find last year's UConn match list, or the 2008-2009 cost of attendance. Can anyone help resolve my idiocy?

In all honesty I'm still surprised how expensive it is. Tuition is just under 20k, but then they hit you with just over 8k in "fees." What's the deal there? In the end it only ends up being about 6k cheaper than the private school I'm looking at, Wake Forest. Kinda wierd.

Agreed. see my post from a little while ago. Oh well...I am getting married soon and we are hoping that I won't need to take out as much loans and/or we'll be able to pay off soon after I'm done.
 
for what its worth, i just found out today from dr. sanford that im number 9 on the alternate list. i dont know what this means, though. as col let us know, the wait list has begun to move, so obviously when they finalized the entire list, i was in doubt digits. also, i dont know how many people have been taken off the wait list. it could be a lot of people, it could be less . lastly, i dont know how many open slots there are for next years class. its pure speculation, and i suppose ill send an email back to dr sanford seeing if he can be more specific. im in at loyola chicago, but uconn is my first choice... it would be nice to know how aggressively i should be pursuing an apartment in chicago versus farmington... just thought id let you guys know.

i hear you karen. another update: last monday after i found out i was 9, i emailed dr sanford back asking if he could be more specific. he essentially said that the process is long and difficult to predict. however, he did say that i had moved up to 7. i emailed him again this morning to find out that right now my current position is 3. its moving ever so slightly. but there is still movement. still not at my final goal, but hey, i can hope. good luck to all the rest of you.

Currently im 4th on the waiting list. Looks like im right after you Francis...hopefully you get in soon!
 
wow good luck guys! im on the middle alternate list, i was debating whether or not to email dr. sanford, i dont think theyll even get to the middle alternates though.

i am going to email dr. sanford on monday to see what my position is. hopefully i will move up a spot or two. ill let you know! im on the ct resident list, which i would assume has more movement than the non-resident list. good luck to you giddyup!

Dr. Sanford told me today that there are two separate waiting lists: one for in state and one for out of state. I am OOS and a "high alternate" and have moved from the "top 8" to #2 on that list. He says they "usually get that far," but couldn't say anything more hopeful than that. Thought that might be helpful to share. Fingers crossed for all of us! :luck:
 
any word francis? i plan on emailing uconn either tommorow or thursday. Thanks.
 
on fri sanford told me that they JUST started from the first 1/3 of the waitlist.

hey giddyup,

i emailed dr sanford yesterday around noon and spent the entire day anxiously waiting for his response but it never came. he still hasnt emailed me back. im trying my best to wait patiently. maybe he is on vacation or something. when you email him, tell me if he responds or not. he is usually pretty good about replying quickly.

what does that mean pokerdoc? first third of the high alternate? or first third of the entire waitlist?

I e-mailed him yesterday as well and he has not replied to me either. Probably very busy right now with getting the classes filled and preparing for the new batch of apps.
 
I actually just got this e-mail from him:

"We are about half way through the top third of the alternate list.
Please feel free to check back in the week of July 7. regards, Keat s"

Sanford told me they are moving into the top third of the list.

So this is the first time I'm actually posting anything, but I too am anxiously waiting to hear from UCONN...This past Mon. (6/16) Dr. S told me I was 5th on the list so if I've looked at everyone's replies correctly that would mean I was right behind Francis163 and Giddyup5.

Giddyup5 hopefully you are at the number one spot now because that would mean I've been bumped up to the #2 spot on the in state list, which would be phenomenal! I'm thinking of emailing Dr. S next week to see if I really have moved up though.

Keeping my fingers crossed and best of luck to u all!!!
 
I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of folks waitlisted at Uconn followed this forum.

I emailed Dr. S this past Mon. asking what my position was this time and he only emailed me on Wed. and this is what he wrote..."will have to get back to you Jessie. keat s"

I thought it was kinda weird, maybe he's obviously really busy...but i was wondering if anyone else has heard from him about anything, whether it be an acceptance or just where u are in the list.
 
i emailed Dr. Sanford and he had a out of office auto reply.


However he did get back to me and said i am currently 3rd on the waiting list.

I was kinda shocked because based on posts on sdn and the timing of them, I really thought i would be first on the list right now. Either I didn't connect all the dots properly ( most likely ) or perhaps some people moved up on the list while I stayed at number 3.

we still have the entire month of july, i have a feeling that things will happen for you. maybe at this stage they combined the OOS and IS applicants into one pool

So i was 3rd yesterday. And I got an acceptance today! SHOCKED that they emailed me on a Saturday.

uconn people, for the supplemental for two pages max, does that mean double spaced or single spaced?
