University of Tennessee c/o 2023 Applicants

Sorry I can't be more helpful guys! I'll see if I can find out more info on Tuesday. This cycle is kind of weird since I didn't see that anybody was notified of a rejection, which usually happens at the same time interview invites go out.

Please let me know if they add more dates or more Skype interviews! I was given an OOS interview but wasn't able to attend because of the short notice and not having anyone to cover my work shift during the time slot they gave me.

Did you ask for a skype interview at the time of the offer? Or do you mean you were unable to get your shift covered for the skype slot? Maybe if you explain that they'd be willing to set up another time for you, I don't know.

It was for the skype slot 🙁 It was the same time and date as my original interview offer. I explained my situation but she did not specify if other skype interviews were available. She simply stated that if I was unable to attend at that time that it would go to someone else.

Ah that sucks :/

Kind of knew it was coming...since I hadn't heard anything from them... Rejection via email.

Rejection as well, OOS :/ Congrats and good luck to everyone who interviewed!

So did anyone with a disadvantage statement get an invite??
Because if not that's seriously messed up.

Was anyone able to e-mail their interviewers to thank them? I got their names and went to the website to look up their e-mail addresses and I could not find them anywhere. I found the faculty page but their e-mails were not listed

I did old fashioned snail mail cards. Hopefully they made it 🙂

If you want to send thank you notes, I would send them by regular mail to the school, addressed to whoever your interviewers were. I'm pretty sure that is what they prefer.

I asked one of the students at the front table and she told me to send it to the email that I received my interview invite from and they would forward it on to my interviewees.

Any OOS interviewees received rejection letters? So sorry to you guys, by the way! Any in state interviewees recieved notice either way yet? I know the general time-line is mid February... Just wondering if this 4 month excruciating wait could be over sooner than later!

If you interviewed, I doubt you will receive notice earlier than mid February. They typically send out all post-interview decisions around the same time.

Barring major changes in the process, of course.

There are ~25 OOS seats per class, I don't think they do the over-acceptance thing that some schools do but could be wrong about that. There is usually some waitlist movement though.
Actually, they do. An out-of-state interviewer said during her interview process they told her they send out upwards of 100 letters of acceptance for out-of-state candidates!

So that must mean that all of the out-of-state candidates who received the rejection letter yesterday must not have actually interviewed. Does that sound right?

Yes, based on who said they received rejections, it looked like it was from the group who hadn't gotten interview invites.

Of course they can correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Interesting. They need to stop changing things on me every year lol

I’m OOS and interviewed the 18th but I still haven’t heard anything either way!

During my information session they said we would not hear back until at least February 20th! I am assuming that is for all people who interviewed.
I don't know about y'all but mid-February to me would be more like the 14th LOL. But, I've waited this long so what's just a little longer? No news is good news where this is concerned I guess!

So here was my thought process...
February 14 is a Thursday which is practically a Friday which is basically the weekend. The following Monday is Presidents’ Day so I’m guessing we’ll hear between the 19th and 22nd.

AND THAT IS THREE WEEKS AWAY!

Happy Tuesday everyone! We’re approximately 2 weeks away from decisions. Last year they heard on the 21st and the year before it was the 16th.

I’m dying of anticipation, anyone else?

So 2 years ago was the 16th, last year was the 21st, so I predict this year will be the 26th. I really hope it’s sooner rather than later!

I got accepted to my IS school this morning so if I get an acceptance, I will be turning it down. Good luck everyone!!
Not saying you have to, but if you are going to turn it down regardless, you could email them and remove yourself from the running now if you wanted to versus waiting until decisions 🙂
Congrats on your in state!!!!

True, I didn’t think of that haha. Thanks!!

26th?? I’d die.

Shall we start placing some bets? Or does SDN frown on gambling?

Anytime someone says they "heard " it won't be until the 2xth, I die a little inside. I check my email CONSTANTLY. Been waiting since OCTOBER..its like groundhog day lol

I keep hoping to see a FB notification from my APVMA group with a little preview that includes "UTK" and "letter recieved" in some combination. I CANNOT stand the wait. It's so awful

Sooo, I did some obsessing using the last 2 years notification dates (2017-16th, 2018-21st) and learned that that was the 3rd Wed/Thurs of February... Which, if the trend continues... Puts us at the 20th/21st.... Which is like 10 days away. TEN DAYS. let's hope.

You mean the date that was stated at the info session? 😉

Good luck guys, I'm rooting for you! Step away from your emails for a few hours if you can.

The date thrown around during my info session was actually Feb 15th. But I'm assuming it will be a little later than that. I'm enjoying not knowing my fate, to be honest ha!

*at least that's what they said for IS. I know some schools release IS/OOS separately

Lol, yes, but it all lines up and feels more CERTAIN now lol. Between "until at least the 20th" and "ON the 20th", the second sounds better to me

See, I like this better! Lol! And to some degree, no news is good news I'm hoping. Do they send acceptance and rejection emails at the same time? For candidates that made it that far anyway

Historically all the notifications have been sent at the same time but take that with a grain of salt since they keep changing things lol

They usually do both at the same time (again, grain of salt, since this is the first year they've done interviews separately). I would think the later date given at the OOS sessions was because they adjusted after realizing they probably wouldn't be done by the 15th. But who knows.
