I was accepted into MSSM and one NJ and NY school. I know MSSM is highly ranked, but outside of that (not being from the region) I do not know much about it. Can you guys share your perspectives of Mount Sinai with me and how it is viewed in medicine? And to the general public? Would I receive an excellent education there?

You would receive a great education in pretty much every accredited medical school. It's a relatively new school but it rose up the ranks really quickly. It's known for its humed program and general friendliness to the humanities (and those who major in them). It's a school within a hospital and it's right on the border of Harlem and the Upper East Side so the patient population should be very diverse which is apparently a good thing for training. They also value community service and their clinic is well integrated into the neighborhood. It is one of my top three choices but no love here haha.

It's my top choice (of my reach schools). But yeah, they're not looking my way.

my friend goes there, went interviewing there also, great school, that's all i can say haha

From what I understand, it is a research heavy school that likely values academic medicine above all else. If you want to spend time doing research, this school would definitely be a good choice. I have heard Mt. Sinai is a good place to do a residency, but I am really am not too familiar with the medical school experience.

Is this considered a really hard school to get into? Is it a top school?

Trolling?

Why do you care what anyone here thinks about the school, or if it's hard to get into it? You got in, nothing else matters. You'll also receive a great education anywhere--probably essentially an identical education. Looking at your old posts, you seem at risk for being dangerously preoccupied with prestige. Make your own decisions about your future not based on what other people think about you.

For the record, if you haven't noticed, every medical school is hard to get into. Also, medical schools are not broken up into tiers. You've already seen the rankings, which is all anyone else who would respond to your question has done.
