I was told that very few people from tier III get an interview, and those who do, it's because something (non-grade/GRE related) stands out and makes their application special or explains the sub-stellar grades. So I would say they probably DO look at everything. You don't get bumped to tier I, but it's possible they'll consider you anyway.
It says on their website:
  • Tier III applications are those in which the GPA and GRE score do not support a presumption of academic success. While these records are very closely scrutinized for evidence to support an argument for extenuating circumstances, fewer Tier III applicants tend to be invited for an interview.

How do you know what tier you are in?
 
It's on the website. I don't remember exactly where, just search around on it.
 
Still pending, and absolutely NO info...anyone hear anything more yet? My roommate had a status change to interview offered, but still nothing in the mail.

My status changed last Wednesday to interview offered and then my letter/info came on Friday. So they prob send them out the day they changed the status. I have a friend with a "pending" status still, seems like a lot of people do!
 
I check it approximately 384343 times each day, and it's still pending. No one I know has gotten anything in the mail yet, regardless of status change. So. Frustrating.
 
Hey folks, no need to worry so much, they are combing through them and they send invites through the mail. If you got an interview offered, you will get the info packet eventually.

At this point, I'm not worried - I got an email today with my interview date/time. But other people I know had their status change a week ago and have not gotten any other information.
 
Got my rejection letter today.
 
I'm getting paranoid because I am going home for Christmas break on Saturday so my RD will have to forward any information to me. I want to know!!!
 
i'm still pending and at least i know I'm not the only one that checks it 38475 times a day!! hehe 😉 but would like to add that even if it does change it will take a while for a letter to get to me i'm all the way across the country!
 
I got an invite via email today, with all the interview details. So who knows what will show up in the snail mail...

They shouldn't just leave you at "pending" all hopeful. That is just rude.
And it makes me grumpy now that I realize that "pending" doesn't really mean anything. I was thinking of it as a life-line to possibility, but no, it isn't . They have no idea how many times we all look at that, wishing so desperately to be accepted. Darn them!

Last year I interviewed up there and after the interview my status changed to 'pending'. I was eventually waitlisted and my status never changed, just that dreaded 'pending'
 
Been checking the portal constantly, finally it went from "pending" to "offered interview". Hang in there if you haven't heard back : ) I'm going out of town for the holidays don't know if I'd receive the snail mail. Does anybody know if I need to confirm interview date or if there's anything else I need to do between now and then.
 
The snail mail gives you an email address. You need to respond to that by 1/3 to confirm your interview. Otherwise it automatically gets cancelled.

Hey so yeah you have to email the person who's contact they give you in the snail mail. That's how you confirm the interview, and you have to do it.

I have a friend must be tier 2, very close to tier 1...and she is still pending too. I'm so anxious for her!!!!
 
I'm tier 2, but I missed the cutoff for Tier 1 by .02 in my cumulative GPA and .03 in my science GPA so I am very close to tier 1....still pending 🙁

Everyone is pending (except for a small number... but it's inconsistent), so don't stress yourself out refreshing the website all the time. I doubt they are completely ignoring tier II and III applications. They've probably done some work ranking people within and across tiers. In any case it seems they are willing to look at your whole application, or at least that's what they've implied on the webpage describing their admissions process .

I know that thet are doing a school wide update so it may by offline for a while. I haven't had access to my vet school email all day.

Thanks for the encouragement....i can't help but be so stressed out, this is my second cycle applying went 0/4 for interviews last cycle
 
Tried to check my status page this morning, but the supplemental application site is down. Is it working for anyone else?
 
Oh wait just read the previous posts, mea culpa.
 
And........... rejected...
Letter just came. Says they had 1200 applicants. Sheesh!! Rough year! Well, that is that, back to studying and an end to insane portal and mail checking! Kinda a relief, as messed up as that is... it was kinda driving me nuts & I was getting all obsessive with checking and rechecking all day long. My neighbors across the street were starting to stare at me as I went out to look at the mail box around 10x a day. I felt like a crazy person, but couldn't help it! Plus honestly, better a rejection now than for me to spend money I really really don't have to fly out for an interview and then be rejected. Gotta say, everyone who did get an interview, you kicked some major butt to get that! Good job, so much competition and you did it! Ok, seriously, back to studying for tomorrows final... bleh!
