Our GEP class is pretty tight. Obviously some people are closer to some than others, but on the whole we all get along pretty well. And for 60 people to be able to hang out with one another, that says a lot. I think most GEP classes are like that from what I have heard. It is a smaller group, and everyone is roughly in the same age group.

DVM/PhD program. For now, I like it. Ask me what I think about it in 5 years when the people I started vet school with are vets and I'm a lowly grad student...

Ahhh. Right. I'm not familiar with how those programs work, mostly because I think people in them are insane. 🙂 🙂

Yes, everyone in the GEP class has been really nice. There are 56 of us and for the most part, I feel like I could talk to anyone. Although, I am much more shy/quiet than some of the others and I am not usually big on hanging around in big groups, but I can still talk to just about anyone in the class.

we'll see how I like it. The first PI I'm working for is a little intense (as in- 3-5 hour meetings starting at 2 pm on Friday afternoons and wants me to publish at least one paper this year on a topic the lab has never looked at while taking a full course load, but I really like the research (stem-cell/regenerative medicine based stuff).

the real benefit is I don't have to take out loans to pay for school, just need to cover my living expenses for the four years of vet school

Yeah, I can see that. I'm not smart enough to do a PhD, and with 3 kids to support a dual program would be too hard on them anyway. Opens more doors down the road for you, too.

But I'm sticking with it being insane. 😉

mine is quite similar to HS... but being in the 5 yr program that'll do it...
the majority of my classmates had just left secondary school and done their
leaving certs, so at 17 and 18 yrs of age it was their first time away from
home..... youngings....let's just say that makes things interesting... and
sometimes I want to wring their little necks.... oh I am so old.... :laugh:

It will be interesting to see what happens once our GEP group mixes with the 5 year group. I am going to feel so old compared to them....

probably a little insane, still young enough to put the time into it.

some of the girls in the program here are planning on having kinds while in it!!! I can't imagine. And when I was at CSU, I think 2 of the students were pregnant and two or three others had at least one kid. I really don't know how people do the whole vet school and kids thing😱! ya'll are amazing!😀

Honestly, I think that's what FTB wanted to do, but I haven't heard a single word from her today since a really early PM about being on a plane. And I don't have a clue what she is planning to do for tonight or I'd help her out.

Maybe we could have a lynch vote that end tomorrow late morning (thinking EST time here) or around noon. Then do a super quick night cycle and then get another lynch in tomorrow? We don't want to discriminate against our EU players so I promise we'll keep that in mind. No way would I want to prevent the possibility of another DVMD/LIS showdown. 😉 :laugh:

And if anyone wants to send in a Contingency just in case, please do. 🙂

Wish I had a better answer for you than that.....

Haha, just got home from work(10.5 hours today, boooo) thinking I had missed lynch. But apparently not! 😛
 
I am going to head to bed in about an hour.

Once this game is over, I am going to take a hiatus from SDN for a few weeks. I need to focus my attention on school and step away from SDN for a bit. I will be back in about mid-September or so.

I haven't really even started studying... I proscratinate a lot. But, I can't continue to do it and SDN/WW are my number 1 distraction so they need to go.

We have our first really large exam over all of anatomy the week of September 17th. So I will probably poke back in here once that exam and the subsequent partying after that exam have ended. 😉
 
Or do what I do sometimes and set my alarm for middle of the night. Check it WW and go back to bed.

No, this is bad for me. Once I am asleep I need to stay asleep until it is time to be up. If I attempt to do this, I will be up from whenever that alarm wakes me up until bed time again the next night. I have gotten quite used to waking up around 6-6:30 every morning and almost do it automatically now, even on the days that I do not need to be up that early.

Oh wow. Just got home and the thread hasn't really moved. Good. I was afraid I missed a lot. I really want to take a nap but I really need to do my sys path case. Surgery lab was good today but my feet and knees hurt.

I'll trade with you!! I wake up every 2 hours normally. I've started taking Melatonin 4 or so times a week, just to stay asleep a solid 4-5 hours.
