It's actually the second post I quoted that is making me want to put my vote here. I could see the first maybe just be her misspeaking. But the second very clearly says she PMd Snowy after seeing the item had no effect... and she thought it was a seering item all a long I'm not seeing how that makes sense.

Yeah so this is why I don't understand what's so confusing about wanting to wait until lynch close to use it? I use it before lynch close (as Pippy pointed out, on one of the people leading in votes), then what happens to all those votes? I waited until late in the day because I was hoping someone would peak my interest or give me more reason to suspect them. If I wait until after lynch close, then I have more information on people's role. What about that is so confusing?

Because what would yield more info? We find out roles of two players in one day or one? I choose to find out info on two. Although I get your point now about choosing someone before lynch, because then if they were villager I could have said something or vice versa.

Fine, go ahead and lynch me, but I'll flip villager.

I don't understand what doesn't make sense. I had the item on my own, and kept it to myself until after it was used.

okay so now youre deeeeefinitely saying that you knew it was a vig item...
and im saying that if you use it AFTER lynch close then you kill the second sketchy person that was in second place and not have to worry about the fact that one of the two people tied would get lynched, like you had said you were worried about.

What effect were you expecting to see? And given that Allie mentioned someone seeing into her soul, if you thought it was a seering item all along why didn't that seem like an effect to you?
 
I’ve been down for a Bryndy lynch since Day 2. I had chalked it up to the fact that I was tunneling, but the woof needs to go.

I explained it to Pippy already but I'll try to do it again more clearly. I got the item, and the way I saw it was that there were a few people on my sketch list that I could use it on and their "true colors" (I took that as role) would appear. No one sent up any red flags through the day, so I was left with those I already thought were sketch (at the time, VA and Allie). Now its a few minutes until lynch close and I think "why waste this item on VA when (since he is leading in votes) I will find out his role and get that information in a few minutes" so I thought I could use it on the person next highest on my sketch list, Allie. I was hoping that seeing her "true colors" would mean confirming my suspicions she was a wolf.

Because the item yielded no information. If it's a seer item isn't it supposed to tell the person who uses it the role of the person they use it on? Because that was my understanding. I used it on her, then I get a message saying the item didn't work because she was wearing something protective. So how can that be justified as having any effect on her?

I'm done defending, I have tried to explain my actions and thoughts multiple times over now. Lynch me and you all still will have failed at finding any wolves. Congrats.

Also her last-minute defending (which it’s not really last minute since there’s still 90 minutes to lynch close) reminds me of my last-minute pleading in the noob game right before I was lynched as a wolf. Lots of “good job lynching a villager guys.”

no youd more than likely see affiliation, not role. especially since mods said role names dont matter.

after reading thru all that I missed today, I agree with everyone's assessment. I also find it weird that you would not equate "melting" with "killing".

(and sorry for not being around today. I know real life is not supposed to interfere...but it has big time today.)

my mistake, they said role revealing doesnt matter, which could mean name OR ability. but if there were things like "burnt caramel corn" and "spoiled milk" as wolves, theyd more than likely have cover roles anyway.

either way, we'd have to know what things the mods dont like or they'd have to be super damning wolf role names (like above) but then would probably have cover roles.

Right? This is weird to me. I don’t understand why she would be giving up so early. I might understand if it was mere minutes to lynch close but in the noob game you and the other wolfators were constantly telling us to keep fighting, even right before the deadline.

Maybe she's village and over it? I still think there's too much confusion on this item and she needs flipping although I'd still like to hear from @SnowshoeDog143 before lynch closes to get their take on all of this considering they pm'd after she used it. I'd like to know their thoughts on the item, etc. Am thinking their thoughts can provide some useful analysis as to where to go no matter how she flips.

I strongly feel like Mixy and Snowy are village. Glam I am leaning village. KL keeps jumping on lynch after lynch, and I believe she has more playing experience than I do. I have a hard time reading the vets, but I think Pippy, Nohika, and Finn need more attention tomorrow. Pippy and Nohika have gotten by without much, if any, questioning. C

Figured this was coming at some point :laugh:

But, lemme ask you this -- why would anyone have a real reason to trust anyone in a game that has so far appeared to just be vanilla + items?

Ok but this part is a little ridiculous.

1. That game was built in a way that was a bit unbalanced (sorry @Trilt but I think you yourself admitted it was an experimental structure?) Basically we had nothing stopping us from cleaning up. It wasn't a huge game, the wolf ratio was normal, but the village had no abilities at the outset and thus could not seer/track/otherwise investigate any of us. And frankly have maybe become a little too dependent on seering.

2. Actively trying for something like that again would be stupid. I might be cocky/conceited, but contrary to popular belief I'm not quite as bad as say, DocE or STL in that regard. Plus, see point 1. It's not like it was some magic wolfing technique -- it was luck + game design (+ ok, some hard work). Also, I was not the only wolf.

3. Pretty sure avoiding wolf lynches is the goal of all wolf teams across the world, not a novel strategy

4. I just came off a game where I coached 5 noob wolves...and was ****ing exhausted after it lol. Not like anyone needs to believe this, but fwiw I personally kinda feel like fellow wolfator Karabeans would have considered giving rng a little "boost" to cut me a break lol

In any case, there are still a lot of other people who are playing this game who are truly excellent wolves. I would advise against ignoring all of them 😛
 
If bryndi is a wolf, Snowy jumps to the top of my list. Probably followed closely by capri and you, who were late to jump onto this vote and basically voted as "yeah me too" votes.

If not wolf, then I would like to look at allie, and also probably mixalot for defending so many of bryndi's actions as village.

We are also hitting the point in the game when I agree it is worth pressuring some of the people who I know are strong wolves. LIS, nohika, finn, and KC all fit that criteria.

1) If you really rezzed me, then you should know my affiliation. Sure, there have been mean-mod-tricks where they've had a villager rez a conversion, but that's .... stupid rare.

2) You're the one that started with the whole "you owe us" stuff! I'm just playing along.

One of the better strategies for wolves imo is to primarily work independently, but use the wolf chat to collaborate. It helps ensure there's not enough overlap, things appear random/disconnected, etc. Not everyone is good at that or particularly subtle, but it's a fairly good strategy and pretty common in the more experienced wolves I've played with.

I don't think we've seen any bus-ing yet because no one has really needed to build that cred. I'm guessing wolves that have come up for lynch have ducked out of it so far, and I'd bet we have at least one wolf riding another one hard, so to speak, at least in theory.

So. One of the better wolf strategies is to work independently ... but not really.

And, we haven't seen a bus yet because no one has really needed to build that cred? Just how - exactly - do you know we haven't seen a bus yet????? Just because no wolf has been lynched doesn't mean that a wolf hasn't been bussed.

Unless, of course, you have some way to know for sure.

Lynch will probably be closed by the time I finish typing/posting this. Bryndy in the lead. Bryndy had a “boiler” item that claimed to “melt” someone and “show their true colors,” so she claimed she thought this meant it was a seering item. She used it on Allie the same night that Allie protected herself, so conclusion was made that the boiler was likely a vig item. That’s the basics of it.
