thing is often mayors get actions done to them early on in the game, this could be good or bad

and sometimes the wolves will just NK the mayor in case the mayor has any interesting powers that could hurt the wolf cause

so sometimes voting for a mayor... is voting for someone to die early

if I were a wolf I might steer the mayor vote in line with a wolfy agenda... like who I thought I could pocket, or who I would want to have NK on and then play innocent about later, someone I thought highly likely to get lynched later and that the mayor thing might amp up paranoia... the possibilities in my mind are endless

it just feels like a liability.... so, choose carefully I guess?

it's probably wrong that I am just reading mayor votes from a player on another player as similar to night kill (lynch votes) at this point

it's like opposite popularity vote in my mind, like "who do I want to paint a target on?"

Historically in the past I have felt like I could read them based on meta. No, they haven't posted yet, but when I looked at the list of players and considered who I wanted for mayor, I felt that was a reason to vote.

Plus as I said, many of the votes so far have either been self votes or in support of self votes, and I don't like supporting those candidates or their supporters.

For the rest who may be on the board, no one jumps out at me as someone to support or that I feel comfortable reading.

I'm saying that voting yourself could be wolfy self-interest. Or that voting someone could be a set up for that person to have something bad happen to them.
