SO far there has been limited movement. They have only made 10 offers, but they remain confident or just keep our hopes up that it could change at anytime.
I am not confident that they will be making any offers off the waitlist again. especially for majority type candidates.

mnbv, I have appreciated all of your posts. What have they told you that makes you think they are confident (or are keeping our hopes up) that they will be offering more spots? I can't imagine that they would want to leave us believing that we have a chance at getting off the waitlist if we, in fact, do not...
A demoralizing turn of events...
It is not so much as they want to keep our hopes up, like all schools, they just want to stay in neutral territory. They cannot tell us that they are finished with the waitlist and there will be no more admissions this year. Could one or two more people get off the waitlist, yes. So instead of saying we are finished admitting students they say a phrase like...
"We have only admitted X amount of people, but that could change at anytime."
instead of...
"While we could potentially have more admittances, so far this year there has been and probably continue to be very little movement off the waitlist."
I am more frustrated with the way medical school communicate to the applicants than anything. I have been waitlisted before and for most people in it means "better luck next year"

FYI all, they are still calling people. I just got accepted off the waitlist today. (Female, in-state, been out of school doing research for 2 years, good MCAT, bad grades)

Out of curiousity, if they accept you this late in the process, how does it work? Do you just get a phone call, and how long do you have to make a decision?
Also, where were you on the waitlist and IS/OOS?
