Same...thank you note to interviewer, except I got a snail mail response from (I assume) my interviewer's assistant.

yes! early this afternoon & still radiating w/ exuberance 🙂 (for those wondering, the package was too big for my regular school mailbox)

Congratulations on getting into P&S! I'm from MA and just got a nice, thick package in the mail this afternoon. Columbia's my top choice, and so I sent both thank you notes and an LOI.

I started a new thread for Columbia 2013 in the acceptance forum... 🙂 🙂

Also, I'm in CA, my mail came today, but I didn't get anything from P&S.

Either it hasn't made it this far or I didn't get in. I'll check again tomorrow 🙂

In the midwest: just got a big white and blue envelope in the mail- from National Geographic?

I'll check again tomorrow.

And its a dream to be going here it was such an awesome place in the neighborhood i grew up in. Its like a grand homecoming.

There is a remote chance my letter is/was on its way to Florida...but if that's the case it hasn't reached it yet.
 
i got the packet today!
for geography's sake, it arrived in Papillion, Nebraska.
I still feel like my grandma (who has been getting my mail) is playing a trick on me.
 
sooo if i live in maryland, and didn't get anything today (thurs), does that probably mean WL?

also, do they send these packets by ups or is it normal mail?
 
I came home to a rejection. 🙁 It hurt but I'll get over it. I didn't write an LOI because I'm torn between this school and one, maybe two others (I'm hesitant about living in nyc). But I really loved Columbia and I was really happy about the idea of a medical school that puts on musicals (I used to be really heavily into theater; tech stuff). I sent a Thank You email and handwritten note to my interviewer but never got any response.

So I guess that's it for me in this thread. Good luck to those of you on the Wait List and those who haven't heard anything yet! :luck:

(I was going to drown my sorrows in Ben & Jerry's but my boyfriend is being awesome and bringing me Thai Food instead).

Sorry to hear that! I wouldn't beat yourself up over not sending a LOI though. If they were going to reject you, it wouldn't have made a difference. Good luck with your other school!:luck:

Ooh, I love greys. I grew up with them. But I don't think I'm ready for one of my own and not sure I ever will be. I'd love to get a Timneh grey someday, though. I think they're awesome. We had one Timneh and several Congos and the Timneh was just a delight. 😀 (All wild caught; I grew up in Ghana).

But back to med school stuff. I'm really worrying now that while my personal statment and overall picture was interesting enough to grant me an interview, my numbers are just not strong enough for an acceptance. =/ I've gotten into SUNY Downstate, so I am going to be a doctor still, but that was my least favorite of my interview days. 🙁 Hopefully it's much better from a student perspective!

Btw, I don't think I've seen any thread this ridiculous in terms of anxiety 😱

**** man you should celebrate or something, but not tonight. Make sure you keep that GPA up for the rest of the quarter. I say celebrate tomorrow after your midterms, assuming you still have anything. But dude.... CONGRATTSSSSSS!!!👍👍👍

For those of you who got in on the west coast, when was the postmark? I assume Tuesday March 3rd?

Man, tomorrow's gonna be a big day...
 
Oh yea, does somebody wanna be in charge of updating the Columbia line on the acceptance thread?

Just compile all the SDN usernames of the ppl who got in...

I don't think we have interview dates for everybody, but I guess it doesn't matter too much. Just put "I:?"

I'm a fan of having all the info available for next year's cycle 🙂
 
To me it sounds like all those who were accepted heard today. People were accepted from NJ to Nebraska and California.

At least to me, this sounds like since I haven't heard yet, my snail mail is not priority mail and hence wasn't accepted.

Somebody prove me wrong!! :scared:

Also the Cali person was in San Francisco. If you are in a major hub, chances are that you will get your letter faster than if you are out of the way of major air traffic.
