If so, then you lose your spot once you click cancel. Maybe if you called them they might tell you if there are earlier dates available.

If you're fast, then you won't lose the spot; your original date will automatically open up the second you cancel it. You are free to chose that date again should you not find a better one.
 
if it makes anyone feel any better, i interviewed on september 24th (12+ weeks ago) and have yet to receive a decision.

my guess is that it depends on the one person who has to read through your app.

my status finally changed last friday to "decision mailed" but i have yet to receive anything in the mail.

i'll post when i find out, either way.
 
I just checked my status and it says decision made and will be mailed!! I checked earlier in the morning and it was still at the adcom. AHH...:scared: interviewed nov. 24
 
Still no decision. I'm wondering if a letter/email of interest talking about the PIL program would be worth it?
 
I hadn't had the chance to dig too far back into this thread but im super nervous and hoping someone can help me out...

I interviewed last tuesday, the 9th, and my application status was changed this morning, the 19th, from "Your interview has been scheduled..." to "Your file is currently under review..."

I was told I'd be waiting about 8 weeks for a decision... So is this status change fast? Is it a good thing or should I be preparing myself for the bad news??? 😕

lol i asked the same question a little while ago and people have said that getting a decision within a month is normal and people have gotten acceptances in short periods of time.

also, there's two different status changes. One says that a adcom member is reviewing the file, and the one after that says the adcom is reviewing. So it might still be 2 weeks or so before you hear
 
Marie 14 had a one-month turnaround and was accepted.

Has anyone received a decision other than accept from Drexel postinterview?

ETA: The one waitlist listed on the waitlist thread also had a month turnaround. So it looks like time is not a factor on deciding.

Still, I grow dissatisfied with waiting.

finally got word about 13 weeks after my interview!

so excited... good luck to you all, and i guess if they make you wait forever it's not exactly a bad sign 🙂
 
That's good news to hear. It's been 11 weeks for me. I'm considering clicking on the 'reschedule this interview' link and heading out to Philly again. Apparently, they have forgotten about me.
 
It's been over 6 weeks for me, and I'm still waiting. I was hoping to get something by the holidays, but judging by the wait that many people have had, it looks like I'll be waiting another 6 weeks. Oh Drexel..🙄
 
as i've gotten a rejection letter from one school, i understand at least some schools give a formal notice of rejection.

does drexel also give out rejection letters or does no word after several months amount to a silent rejection?

has anyone received an actual rejection letter from drexel?

Any one tried to call the admissions office to find out their final decision after the status page have changed to Decision Made? I'm leaving for China in 3 days and my status page only changed to Decision Made on Friday. I'm hoping I'd hear before Wed. but if i don't I wouldn't be getting the letter till mid Jan. and it might be over 2 weeks! I wonder if I can get my decision over the phone? Or hold my place till I get back? Um....looks like I'll be making a call tomorrow

Eek! My status changed today to "decision made." I am curious as to what the above poster said: any chance of them giving you info over the phone? I am home for the holidays and although I'm hoping that my roommates will be around to check the mail, they very well may not be. Ah!

So I just called and the office said since the decision was just made last week, the final letter haven't been printed yet. It should be printed by Wed. and then he could fax the decision to me, but he is not allowed to reveal the final decision over the phone. Boo...
 
I have been waiting for about 14 weeks pre-interview. Is this a bad sign? :scared:

Should I send an interest letter with my updated grades and add'l ECs?

I'm sure an interest letter and grades wouldn't hurt. Don't give up!

PS if your decision letter has been mailed and you're out of town, they'll fax it to you. That's how I found out today! yay!

Damnit, waitlisted by Drexel today. I think my status update said the decision was in the mail about 2 weeks ago. I interviewed 10/23/2008. Does anyone know how much movement there is on Drexel's waitlist or how their waitlist system works (i.e. is it ranked?)

its an unranked list that probably wont see much movement until the summer. last year they pulled a good number off, all the way up til orientation (beginning of august)
 
I don't know how much this is true, or whatever, but when I interviewed on 11/19, my student interviewer said that the adcom gets time off for Thanksgiving and the holiday season, so I'm sure things are going to slow down a bit. Stay hopeful fellow SDNers! (And I'm not hopped up on acceptance joy, trust me. I'm waiting with the rest of you).

In the mean time, everyone have a great holiday, which ever one it is that you celebrate. :hardy:

I called and they wouldn't fax it to me... they said it takes a couple of days to process it or whatever... bah... you think they don't fax rejects? lol (I didn't tell them my name, so they'd hafta use caller id or something)

If anyone else gets a fax, please let me know, so i know what to expect when i check my mailbox... >.>

It does take a few days to process, but if you call next week. they'll probably fax it to you. I was thinking they don't fax acceptances since there will be several pages rather than one. maybe that's good news for you?!
 
My decision was already processed when I called so they were able to fax it to me right away. And they do fax acceptances ('cause I got one! yay). Good luck on waiting-I know how nerve wracking it is! 😀

just got this.. "Thank you for your application. Your file has been reviewed and will be re-evaluated later in the season for a final decision. "

anyone gotten this and been invited for an interview?
 
Does anyone know the final day the committee will meet before the holidays? I've heard they meet on Thursdays...which would make this week a wash. Hoping to have the longest post-interview acceptance...going on 14 weeks, ugh.

I checked my status this morning, and it changed to: Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University.

I take this to mean they are meeting right around now.
 
Interview: November 18th, Accepted: December 23rd! 😀
 
i just got a "decision reached" today. anyone else?
 
Oh man I'm so nervous, my status just changed from under review with the admissions committee to a final decision has been sent. Yikes, I don't want to wait. Do you think they'd fax it?

usually it still takes a week for the letter to get here. I got the desicion made message on friday and called on monday and they said they haven't printed out the final decision yet and they couldn't fax it to me till this friday (a week later). Good luck!!
 
yea .. my status changed to saying that a final decision has been made...
for those of you who got an acceptance in the mail..is it a big package or a normal letter... im REALLY nervous!
 
I interviewed on December 6th and have also received the "A decision has been reached and a letter will be mailed to a preferred address" update. It sounds like many applicants received the same message today.

you'll have to call and request them to fax it to you. Whether you really are leaving out of town or not, only you'll know xP

i interviewed end of october. my status still says "an interview has been scheduled. if you're interviewed please allow 6-8 weeks for a decision" or something to that effect... and apparently that message will change multiple times before a final decision??
the wait is killing me.
