I'm sure they haven't forgotten you. If you're worried, why not give them a call or send an update/interest letter?

well, i'm not really worried...i just want to see what happens and how long it will actually take them to get back to me... i just don't understand how their review process works...i interviewed at many schools after drexel, and they all got back to me already...but Drexel has been silent...not sure what it means...i'd rather prefer to be waitlisted/rejected than to be ignored 🙄

Interviewed late Nov. and accepted 12/23...although the letter didn't get to me till a week ago and since I was out of the country, I just got all the forms today. Super excited since it's my first. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ELSE WAITING!!

is drexel still giving out invites? still havent heard fromthem..

same here! really hoping to hear something in the next few weeks.

My application status page changed this morning to: Thank you for your application. Your file has been reviewed and will be re-evaluated later in the season for a final decision.

Has anyone been outright rejected pre-interview, or is this something that's given to everyone to assuage the anxiety?

I got that message yesterday! So frustrating!

I got it yesterday also, and I was complete at the end of September.

Hey guys, my interview is January 26. I'm pretty excited. However, I've heard negative things about Philadelphia. Is it really as bad and dangerous as 'they' say or is that just one of those cliche comments that most people say about all big cities?

Also, are the interviews open file or closed file?

Thanks and good luck to everyone!! :luck:

wow you only applied for 5 schools! good for you 🙂
philly is definitely NOT that dangerous. i went there for three weeks to visit my sister who goes to college there, and as a foreigner i felt that chicago is more dangerous, but that's just my opinion

Well actually I had like 10, and then narrowed it down to six. I didn't like Miami, UAB, and FSU's secondaries, haha. And U of Washington doesn't take out of state apps. So yeah, just six. But I'm happy I got into one so far 🙂

Well that's good to hear about Philly. So did you get accepted to Drexel?

no i haven't even interviewed there 🙁 i would really like to, but chances aren't looking good. congrats on your acceptance. i would say definitely go check it out. see philly for yourself. i have traveled a lot in general and although its probably not one of the safest cities you don't need to be super nervous walking around and stuff even at night. just use common sense

I interviewed at the end of October and my status still says "interview has been scheduled" etc etc... so you're not alone!
I did just send them a 2-sentence email asking what's up though...

My status finally changed. Now it says "under review by the admissions committee" not "by a committee member."

I think someone else pointed out that Drexel ADCOM meets on Thursday. :barf::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared:

I'm right there with you! I interviewed Nov 19th and no status change yet. I really don't think it has anything to do with outcome. I think it all depends on who's reviewing your app. Stay strong! :luck:

I have been complete since 9/10 and my application still says "No decision is currently available. Please continue checking this website for updates." Anyone else been waiting this long? Anyone heard good news after waiting this long? I know that they interview at least through March - just wondering if these dates are full already...

To everyone waiting:

Be proactive, and don't just sit on your hands. Send updates or interest letters to show you're serious about Drexel. If you have been in contact, keep it up. Don't wait around for them to get to you.

+1

Btw, I've been complete since mid-August and I still have that "no decision" message.

Does anyone know if Drexel offers a second look day to accepted applicants?

Thank ya!

I was complete 9/17 and just got an interview invite today! It's not too late!

I would like to withdraw my interest with Drexel 😡

Just got an interview invite, but the earliest is in April. Any chance they allow you to move up the date as others cancel?

wow, looks like this is probably around the last batch of interview invites if the earliest one you could sign up for was April....well, I guess I'll keep the hope for a few more days. So, does anyone know what happens when they (as in all med schools) fill up all the interview dates? Do they automatically reject everyone left even if they haven't gotten reviewed yet? I applied a little late (mid-October to early-November), so I'm pretty worried.

Anyone interviewing Feb. 3rd want to split cab fare to the airport after the interview?

I see you are a student. Are you at Drexel? If so, can you tell us why you withdraw your interest?

Eeh there's four emotional stages of a medical student (actually this seems to apply to anything)

1. Elation - so happy that we're gonna be a doc! this stuff is so interesting!
2. Exhaustion - wow all of this studying/going to class is taking a toll
3. Resentment - why do we have to do all of this pointless BS?
4. Apathy - I dont care about grades, I just want to pass

Annddd the cycle repeats itself over and over

After 2 weeks of straight lectures from the two most pathetic lecturers I've ever encountered I'm back in phase 3.

Don't mind my ranting

Not getting a response is not a bad omen. If they see an update/interest letter, they just print it out and stick it in your file.

I also am a first year at drexel. I hate this website because its become infested with creepy people llike Mr. Saqrfaraj (I can meet you outside Aud A after gross tommorow if you would like?) Mr. Saqrfaraj, how do you kow what they do with the letters, did you have a personal conversation with Dr. Hanau? Do you even know her? Does she know who you are?

To anyone still waiting... it sucks, i know and Ive been there. But you will drive yourself crazy if you take advice from a kid who claims to be a student in our class. There is no known rhym or reason to med school admissions. I a 28 and a 3.3, I interviewed end of January. They told me 6-8 weeks... I think I found out in April that i got in. My college roomate had a 35 and Drexel didnt even interview him. You cant listen to people who dont know, itll make u nuts. They really do get backed up... there is a whole room filled with boxes. Don't worry about the time line, Interviews are still going. Don't torture yourself; the hardest part is just waiting. I wish that I had realized that the decision was now out of my hands. If you want to be a doc, you will be a doc... end of story. Dont make yourself super anxious on this website listenining to my, allegedly, creepy classmate.

I CAME ON TO SEE IF THE GIRL STUDENT-INTERVIEWED GAVE ME A PLUG, LIKE SHE PROMISED. I COULNT HELP BUT REPLY TO MY "CLASSMATE"... IN GENERAL STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE UNLESS YOUR USING IT FOR LIKE PRACTICE INTERVIEWING, THE TRUTH IS THAT I HAVE COME TO KNOW WELL MANY OF THE DEANS, INCLUDING DEAN HANAU, AND SHE IS KIND AND FAIR AND SHE CARES.

 I think I struck a nerve. Don't listen to anonymous poster #1 because anonymous poster #2 says so. Oh the irony.

For those that have been accepted/rejected/waitlisted, how did you find out exactly? Did your status change on their website or did you first find out through snail mail?

Also, I interviewed 12/6, has anyone that has interviewed around then heard anything?

Thanks!

your status page will say "decision made" and you'll get a letter in the snail mail about a week later on whether you are accepted, waitlisted, or rejected. good luck!

yes, i canceled my interview a while back and someone on here was able to sign up for it. the only problem is, is that there is no way to view the available dates unless you give up your date (that i know of), so you need to be quick and sly about it.

Rejected post-interview after 3 months (interviewed in October).

Pretty shocked, I had a great interview experience and I loved the school. I could have honestly seen myself going there, and I have no idea what went wrong.

just to give you all some timeline:
complete: 8-15
interview: 10-27
decision: 1-16 (about 11.5 weeks after the interview)

good luck to you all

I interviewed 12/6, and my status changed to "letter mailed" today. Hoping for my first acceptance!

Good luck! I'm rooting for you guys. We might be future classmates.👍

Good luck, Vania! Just wondering, how long did your status say in admissions committee before "letter mailed"? I've had the "under review by admissions committee" status for about 2 weeks now. I interviewed 12/8. Thanks.

Ugh. I had "under review by a committee member" for 3 weeks, and this week is changed to "under review by the committee". I was really hoping for the "decision made" status today 🙁. I really liked the school a lot and would love an accptance.

Thanks. I guess no news is good news for now.

Anyway, I'm just jittery because my MCW decision is supposed to come out today. Sorry for the whining 😳.

I had "committee member" message for a week, followed by "under review by admissions committee" for a week. I believe it was said earlier on this thread that the admissions committee meets on Thursdays, and my status changes all occurred on Fridays. It doesn't seem to make sense why some of us are moved through the process so much faster than others...just hoping that it wasn't a quick rejection for me. Best of luck!

Its because of the individual committee member that reviews your app. Some are really slow so if your app gets stuck with that person it'll take longer. I think the committee itself doesn't take that long.
