How long did it take everyone to get the "complete" email. I'm a little worried because I completed the secondary on July 21 and had my letters sent on the same day, but still no email other than the one I got when I submitted my secondary.
 
Is it already too late to send Georgetown? I was planning to submit secondary this weekend. Should I give up hope?
 
But their essay is so lame! Writ a full single space page about why I want to go there? The same reason I want to go to 18 other schools!!!!
 
I am filling out the secondary now and it asks me to acknowledge reading the "2009 Guide to Application". However, there is something wrong with my comp./the link that will not allow me to view it.

Does anyone know where else I can view this so I may complete the application?

Haha, I know. But, I actually want to read the document. It would be a shame make a mistake or do something out of ignorance. I really like GT and am staying 100% honest!!

you should read some of their earlier responses on this thread. Georgetown is actually pretty different from the other schools.

Eeks I love you SDN! 😍 I would not have known to emphasize that philosophy if I hadn't read this thread. Also it rocks that my PS in my primary totally emphasized it without my meaning to.

I just submitted all 4993 characters of my secondary application!

I am glad to have this one done and hope to get an interview.
 
So when I log in it says "Your application has not been reviewed at this time" Does it ever say Under Review or anything like that, or does it stay that way until invits/reject? Also, under status it says nothing about LOR's - does that mean they don't have mine or is there just no place they address it? Thanks!

You should receive an "application complete" email from them when they have everything they need from you to start the review process (which I assume includes LORs). On my status page, it just shows when the application fee was paid and when the MD app was certified, so as far as I can tell, they don't put LOR info on there. Hope that helped...
 
Does anyone know if secondaries are sent out just so they can make money or did they carefully review the applications to select those 'qualified' for the secondaries? Thanks!!!!!😀
 
Secondaries are unscreened. So EVERYONE got one.

The truth is.. they want our money, lots of it...

Georgetown's fee was $130, the highest fee out of the 28 schools I applied to...

hey, i have a 3.22 science gpa, 3.44 cGPA, im not URM (in fact im asian) and i just got an interview to georgetown. you never know!!
 
so i've heard Georgetown is really hard to get into for california applicants...is this true?? with all the money i am spending for secondaries, i could use the $130 savings. My scores are good (35, 3.9) but if they don't like CA applicants then i might as well withdraw?

Any insight?

CA applicant, 3.9/32, Gtown interview.

its not hard for a CA applicant, its just hard! they have over 11,000 applicants, and since they are rejecting 90% of those people, there is a 90% the people you know from CA got rejected post-secondary from Gtown.

When did you submit your secondary and get marked as complete? I submitted my secondary 8/18 and received the app complete email 8/25. I'm just wondering how long 'til I receive news...and get that interview invite...
 
i was complete early august, before 8/25 but still nothing 🙁

i submitted the secondary around 8/15, complete on 8/18, invite on 9/02

thanks. I just hope its not too late. I feel like everyone on here has finished their secondaries over a month ago.
 
Just got rejected. I was amazed by the texture of the letter...silky smooth and motherly-like reassuring....like a hug and smile to sweeten the "sorry it didn't work out".

Good luck to those of you who got lucky 🙂

Oh haha...I was merely commenting on the texture of the paper that the letter was written on...i got the same content as you. Oh well...there is still 15 other schools on my list...lets see who writes the nicest rejections!
 
What does everyone else's status page say?

I got the complete e-mail. Did any of you have any messages or status changes??
 
i think they stop using the secondary page after you are complete.

So rejection from Gtown comes via letter?
 
Hey does anyone know what the best airport is to fly into? Dulles, Reagan or even Baltimore? I'm looking at ticket prices into the DC area and the cheapest ones are all to Baltimore.
 
Reagan by far, then probably Dulles. Dulles doesn't usually take that long b/c it has its own access highway that has no cars on it. Just don't land from 3-7pm and you'll be fine at Dulles. BWI is fine also, really not that bad, like 45 mins but its going to cost more for a taxi or airport van than Dulles. Reagan wins by far tho, just take metro to Rosyln and take the bus to campus or pay a few bucks for a cab.

Sorry to see you guys got rejected; especially because of your great stats. I have been complete since 9/2 and have yet to here from them. I am keeping my fingers crossed because I really like this school and its philosophy. I soent a lot of time on the secondary so I hope I get an interview. Good luck to everyone!
 
Woooooo rejected! Hehehe, so it goes. At least they let us know so we can put them out of our minds.

AHH! Just rejected. I spent so much time on this edday and meant every word of it. I would have loved to interview here.
 
georgetown makes me anxious every time i check the mail. 🙁

It took me two weeks for my rejected ******* to receive the letter. :laugh:
