Last year, when my decision was made we did not find out (receive the status change) until Friday afternoon. Calm down, there is no way that all of you stellar candidates did not make the cut. In fact, most of you will be overjoyed this time tomorrow, good luck!:luck:
 
Classic, I hope you're right--I really enjoyed my interview at UIC. Your avatar is so funny, haha.
 
im going to be the first to say, lets all take a chill pill and let uic adcom/staff do their thing. im sure its a lot of work to properly set up, mail, and coordinate this batch since there are most likely more candidates.

i wish you all the best of luck at 8:00AM today. we'll do fine. if not, heres to other interivews!!! woot.

im considering playing xbox all night until 8AM....only I know that they might not be completely updated by tomorrow morning.

they might not be finished updating 8am tomorrow as it's going to snow a lot over here tonight..
 
thats somewhat true.

i just left work at millennium park and i don't think mayor daley will let a repeat of bad snow removal happen like earlier this week.

who knows, if it does snow 12 inches tonight, then we all may be in for a world of waiting.

either way i'm just excited the day is here.

heres to getting the cbc email prior to getting the status update!!!
 
I'm just chilling, listening to music. I'm actually planning a 300mile trip--sorta spontaneous thing I am doing for my year off. I hope we all get in, yay!

This is so funny, only SDNers would be so happy to get a criminal check! LOL

for those who have acceptances, what happens, in terms of the CBC, when you get a second acceptance? Do you get a second email? Or nothing??
 
Am I the first to get up and STILL realize that we were NOT updated? Goodness...this will be a long day. Maybe someone should call the school to see if they are having a 'snow day'?? ha ha ha Feels like Christmas morning but Santa FORGOT to come!
 
Don't fret so much about the Friday change. When I got accepted, I logged into the status check site and got a generic message telling me there was a decision and the correspondence was in the mail. Didn't get the letter until the following Tuesday. I did get the background check email during that weekend, which obviously turned out to be a good sign. Oh, and you do get another one of those emails if you've been accepted to another participating school. Hope this helps!
 
has anyone heard of someone getting the CBC email and NOT getting in? That would sure be a letdown to get the CBC, tell family and friends, and then see the dreaded small envelope come Monday morning.

A final decision was made on your application on 12-19-08. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone.


I have the additional correspondence on top.... 😕

Mine says the same thing! A box in the upper right hand corner also says Additional correspondence. No CBC email yet. I'm just happy that it changed:xf:
 
I got a CBC today but I was accepted to another school yesterday...Hmmm...
 
do you think they are done all at once or entering them in??? give me some hope.
 
Don't worry. Congrats on your other acceptance. That may be the only CBC you get. I doubt they redo CBCs for multiple acceptances. It does come from AMCAS right? You may be waiting for the envelope for confirmation about UIC's decision. But... I am no authority on any of this, I'm just a fellow excited speculator.

so in the past, people with additional correspondence and "Final decision message..." have got accepted right?
 
so who all over had the message change and correspondence box added?
 
I too got the Final decision and Additional Correspondence!!! but no CBC although I already received it for another school....ahhhh.....i hope this is good? but, i mean, really, final decision and additional correspondence sound like it could go either way.....=(

Everyone in this forum who had both "Final decision" and "Additional Correspondence" have been accepted, so it looks like you're in, but wait for that large packet before you 100% celebrate. I remember I got my "Final Decision" on Thursday and CBC email Friday, but because I had not rec'd my packet yet, I celebrated "carefully" all weekend lol...

it could go either way, but considering what the people from the past are telling us, it means acceptance. Also, I do know for a fact that they don't reject you straight up..they just put your file on hold and it still keeps on displaying "decision pending.." Anyone correct me if I'm wrong..

If you look earlier in this forum, one poster had "Final decision..." but no "Additional Correspondence" and no CBC email and was in fact rejected. This year has brought a couple surprises...
 
Hey guys, I also got the "final decision" and "additional correspondence" message, but no CBC yet. Lets hope this is good news and we all get the CBC email and big packet soon. :luck::luck::xf::xf:👍😀

So if we have the decision pending still up there we didnt get in....?

no it doesn't mean that you didn't get in..I think they put your file on hold and review it again at the next adcom meeting.

Does anyone know what the chances are of getting off this hold pattern? this is very depressing.

So....I got the "final decision" and an "additional correspondence" appeared next to the "confirmed interview" box. Should the additional correspondence be a link or is it just a date? I suppose the wait continues? Ahh...GOnna get a heart attack, LOL.

seriously, heart attack! there's going to be another waiting game with the site assignments!
 
So i got the final decision and additional correspondence but no CBC. I think I almost fainted trying to log in to status check!

So I am yet to get accepted to any school participating in CBC so if I get it, I'll know I am in for sure. The wait will be excruciating. I live 40 mins north of UIC so maybe by monday or tuesday i'll know my fate for sure!
 
did anyone get CBC yet? Is additional correspondence bad, generic, or good? Geez, they should just tell your if you're in or not. Seriously. Good luck everyone!!!

I thought I read somewhere that the adcom meets both thursdays and fridays (i might well be imagining things). But don't get too down! Its not over until its over! Like people have already stated, status change might not exactly be am acceptance... Goodluck tho!

I think I believe the post that says they spread it over days. The alphabetically theory i dont so much know since my last name starts with a "U" and my status changed.

Better still maybe its done according to when you interviewed. Silly russian hasnt had a status change either and he interviewed relatively recently (I interviewed Nov 19th or something like that). I hope this helps!
 
SkrillDoc I have faith in you. I hope you get in!!! BTW, maybe they're doing it by interview date? I interviewed 12/08

Do you have a date in the box that says additional correspondance? Mine says 12/19/08. I wonder if this is the date they send the envelope?
 
I just checked my status again. I got a date (12-19-2008) next to my "additional correspondence". Anybody else get this?
 
mine also says 12/19..but it says that since the first time I checked today morning which was like 4 hrs ago..
