I think it's safe to say all of us waiting are pretty much waitlisted. there's no way BU makes its accepted students wait this long. And BU doesn't really reject ppl, they just tend to give a false ray of hope and make us wait forever.
 
Don't be such a pessimist haha somebody received a congratulations email from their interviewer a couple of hours ago. Also, there were plenty of people accepted back in Jan who found out only via snail mail.

Relax. It's Friday and the weather is beautiful. Go find a nice happy hour and check the mail when you get home haha

Can't say that I am not as antsy as you, but worrying isn't going to change the outcome. 🙂

They havent even sent the packages yet. Not everyone gets contacted so lets just breathe in and out and we will know shortly. :luck::xf::luck::xf::luck:

Best advice right now is to just wait it out. Another week isn't going to kill you and any action you take to pester interviewers/office of admissions probably won't get you any new information and at worst will be a mark against you.

Dont listen to that type of negativity. You can either prepare for the worst or hope for the best but I suggest just living today, enjoying the nice day outside and resting in the fact that the desicion is already made. It's a ride now. So take it easy friend.

PS: Interviewers have the CHOICE to call so you have to wait for the mail. I am waiting too, hopefull and praying. 😍:xf:
 
...another week? Another week of decreased productivity, constant anxiety, and stomach pains?

Please BU, just make it sooner =(.
 
If you don't hear today... do something active and get your mind off apps this weekend. Plan a summer vacation or play some sports. Get this BS out of your mind for a little while.

It is annoying how I applied to grad schools (med) in early July and still haven't heard back from everyone but my brother applied to grad schools (bio PhD) in November, already heard from the schools and knows he is headed to Harvard. Oh well.

I was at BU today. Supposedly the mailing was sent out yesterday from Boston, so depending on where you live...is when you will receive it. For those that are accepted, we are supposed to be getting a bunch of emails in the next 1-2 weeks also.
 
there is still a slight possibility we can hear today (its not 5pm yet).. very slight though i know 😎
 
sorry for such a depressing comment haha...yea don't listen to me i was just a little frustrated. We will all get accepted next week.
 
I think it is really awesome when interviewers take the time to call or email applicants directly to let them know they've been accepted. It really shows just how much the BU faculty care and how invested they are in the students. It certainly shows that BU is a unique place! Very impressive.
 
Notified of waitlist. For this particular school that is not a good sign is it?

Although I guess they are probably trying to allow less people in so they don't overfill their class again.

This is my third waitlist spot... wow... more waiting... and waiting... and waiting...
 
Every school I've interviewed at has waitlisted me, at least initially. Hopefully BU will change their minds too. But at least the anxiety is dying down.

waitlisted - not shocked, it was my first interview after all.
 
Offered a spot on the waitlist. This is my 8th waitlist!
 
Anyone know how many waitlist spots are there, and whether there is movement?
 
Sooo my status hasn't been updated yet and I haven't gotten any calls/emails from my interviewer...anyone else in the same boat?

Yup. No status update or email for me either. I assume this is a good sign rather than a bad sign. I know my interviewer doesn't call, so I'm just gonna have to wait for the letter and see.
 
Waitlisted as well and declined the offer. G'luck to those still waiting!

Yeah, my problem is that I think someone else got an e-mail from my interviewer letting them know they got in, but I haven't gotten anything. So maybe this is bad news for me.
 
On one hand we all hear the speech from Dean W about how he doesn't like waitlists etc. But on the other hand people from BU told me there are always quite a few people on the waitlist. Don't really know what to tell you.
 
I don't know why BU keep saying they dont like WL? Clearly everyone not accepted after interview is put on WL...same thing happened in previous years. It's def. not "a small group of applicants."

dunno about that...there were people rejected in January, so probably more people are getting axed now. they just dont post about it

Everyone who didnt get offer at this point is waitlisted? ALL of them?
Does anybody know how much waitlist movement occured in previous years?
 
WL here too....oh well, guess i won't be staying in Boston for med school.
 
I think there was 0 movement in the past two years. But thats just from SDN and last years waitlist threads.
 
Does your actual status update too? I've gotten no email and mine just still says "Deferral of final disposition to March - Confirmed".

I interviewed October btw, deferred in January. Wrote an update letter/I'm still interested later in early February.

Not everyone, I haven't gotten any news at all yet. Do you think all of the waitlisted statuses have been updated by now? I'm having a mini heart attack every time I check my e-mail!

The last couple years they've had much higher yields than expected and mabye even overenrolled their class. While this is great for BU (shows that its becoming more desirable among applicants), mabye they've learned their lesson this year and admitted fewer outright and will turn to the waitlist.

I have made a waitlist thread (the revised one) with a poll. If everyone participates we can see a little SDN distribution.

yeah but i get the impression that there won't be a whole lot of movement. i can't imagine they're planning on pulling too many people off the waitlist when they're predicting the majority of the movement to be in june, especially since june is probably too late for a lot of people, myself included. i don't know, i hope i'm wrong
 
got the acceptance letter in the mail today, so they're def making their way out to everyone! 🙂 (didn't get a call/no status update)
