interview invite! Do you think if i wait until tonight to sign up for a date it'll be gone? I need to figure out flights and stuff, but I need this particular date because I'll be in Greece for all of the other ones.

i just got a room at Sleep Inn for 65 bucks and it is 2-3 miles away on 8-29....not a bad deal if anyone else is interested...

if u need this one particular date sign up now...you can easily get a flight and hotel for even the earlist 8-29 dates. It may cost more but  gotta do what you gotta do.

Interview Invite!! 😱 I was completed 7/23 and got the e-mail today at 7:03 am Pacific time! Scheduled for 8/29!

😱 of the opposite kind... I was complete 7/10 and haven't heard anything... that makes me nervous... congratulations to everyone who has gotten interviews tho!!

interview invite !!! 🙂

the times to interview are so....limited though. The last one in September ?!?!

Interview invite this morning! My first one, I am very excited.
I submitted 7/7 but wasn't complete until 8/3.

I will be there August 28. All the Saturday times were all ready full, so I signed up for the Friday. Hope to see some of you there.

Congrats everyone! I'm signed up for 9/4.. Hope to see some of you there.

The Sleep Inn has a shutle service from the airport, and then the night before your interview you can schedule a cab to come get you which will be around 8 bucks

are you guys IS or OOS?
OOS, creighton gives no pref to instate anyways. They do however give a preference (a strong one at that) to people who do their undergrad at creighton.

interview invite as well 🙂 got the app 7/6, i was complete 7/9, invited today 8/6.

elijah is correct; last year the waitlist had very little movement, but the little bit it moved went to creighton alumni. hence why i am not in omaha this very minute 😀

i want to tell you all there was a hosting program last year, it was like 60 bucks a night (whatever it was it was cheap!) to stay with a current M1 student. Mine drove me to my interview so I could leave my car at his apartment and not worry about parking- might help for those with no cars, too. so don't get your hotels just yet!

ugh ive been completed and reviewed since july 10th and still no word...*sigh*

so looking at the interview scheudle it ends at 3PM, but theres a optional dinner from 5-7pm...it might be nice to go to that but at the same time, if i do that i will have to probably stay another nite at the hotel as theres no flights i can get...think it matters if we just skip it? Anyone else skipping lol. I feel bad if i skip

Are you going to go to the dinner from 5-7, and are you planning on leaving your luggage with the hotel?

Im thinking of skipping the dinner as i live in cali and its already a long flight....I cant take a flight at like 11:40pm and get back to cali at 3am...I guess i could take a cab but thats adding to the expense and everything is already getting costly...tickets are liek 250 alone -_-

Did anyone who lives East of Cali/Las Vegas receive an invite today?

so how do we get in contact with the student host program ?

.

Creighton med student here. Just wanted to congratulate those that received invites and encourage you to utilize the student host program. Class hasn't started yet so the program may not be "officially" set up, but if you e-mail admissions, I'm sure they can get in touch with the students in charge to accommodate you.

Briefly, it was $40 a night last year, which gets you a ride to/from the airport from your host, a place to stay for the night with said host, a ride to/from the interview and the chance to spend time with a current student so that you can ask questions and all that good stuff. It really doesn't make sense not to take advantage of the opportunity.

Also, if you can, definitely try and stay for the host dinner as it gives you an extra chance to see what the students are like, see the city of Omaha, and talk to current students in a very relaxed situation. Whether you go or not will not affect your chances, but it's just another chance to help you figure out if you'd like to spend 4 years (or 2 years if you do the newly created Phoenix track) of your life in the big O.

Good luck!

I should have mentioned that typically, you receive an e-mail with instructions detailing the process of setting up a stay through the host program. With that said, this may not have happened with the first batch of interviews due to the fact that the school year hasn't started yet.

Cool thanks for the info!! I was worried about missing the dinner thing. There are no flights back to where I am in cali..the lastest one out is like 630pm...so i cant make the dinner unless i want to pay for another night at a hotel/stay with student...i dont want to spend extra money im already poor🙁

elijah..im with you and that whole cali flight schedule thing. i cant decide if i want to skip the dinner and take the 6:50pm flight back home or to go to the dinner, stay one more day, and take the earliest flight back on saturday. by the way, how much were your tix? mine are gonna be about $235, yikes 😱

i didnt buy them yet because im not sure about skipping dinner or not, but they were like 250 for me if i got them yesterday....i need to hurry and decide as each day they will just raise 🙁. I really wanna go to that dinner but ugh another 60-100 dollar hotel night is not very appeasing....

anyone going on 9/18? I wonder how many people can go to a single day.

Hey congrats everyone on the interview invite. Anyone from Montana area going down there? Also, anyone else have to skip the dinner? There is no way I can make it and still make it to my flight.

For the optional dinner, is the attire business casual, suit, or completely relaxed (i.e. t-shirt & jeans for extremes)? I was planning to change out of my interview attire into something more comfortable if allowed.

Interview invite! I'll be goin on october 10th

The purpose of the dinner is to allow the interviewees to get to know current students in a much more casual atmosphere, so definitely don't rock your suit as you'll be the only one. Basically, you wear what you'd normally wear if you were going to a restaurant/bar with friends. I'd highly recommend it for anyone that can stay.

Also, now that the e-mail is out, anyone who hasn't already made reservations at hotels should be taking advantage of the student host program. You can't beat the price and as I mentioned, your student acts as your shuttle at no extra cost! Good luck and feel free to pm me if you don't want to ask questions on here.

anyone sign up for a student host? Much cheaper then a hotel but i forgot to sign up...and i dont have the email anymore. Is it too late? Or can someone link me?

What do you guys think qualifies as a worthwhile status update to send to schools? I went on clinical rounds a couple of weeks ago for one twelve-hour day. I otherwise don't have too much clinical shadowing on my application. Creighton encourages status updates, but I'm not sure if one day is important enough, or if it is just trivial. Any opinions?
