The waiting game is brutal isn't it?? I'm trying so hard to keep it together, say my affirmations, etc. etc. but fear just wants to keep taking over!! Its not helping that I really dropped the ball with my other secondaries (like, REALLY dropped the ball!)...if don't get in here...ugh...

And Davis just seemed so perfect for me. I loved everything about it: its emphasis on community health and student-run clinics, beautiful facilities, and was anyone else struck by how unpretentious everyone was?? Like a breath of fresh air. Not to mention close to family and friends. ah, Davis. Please call. Please? I'm too old and too broke to have to go through this again..

So far, I've only heard of one person who's heard back from late Oct. I interviewed 10/27. Anyone else?

I know how ya feel. If it makes u feel better I interviewed in sept and still I've no news. It's makin me crazy

Accepted last week, interviewed the week before you. Hang in there! Hopefully that call is coming. :luck:

I agree - everyone I met was down-to-earth and sincere.
 
Elijah, hang in there with me!! I'm pullin' for you!! You know, 2 of my friends didn't even hear back until JUNE and another (on the waitlist at USC) got accepted 2 weeks before school started. I'm sure there's a million other stories like that. You're cool, keep the faith. :xf:

Elijah, we must have interviewed together. 09/25 when we met with Gr. gracia...I have not heard back from them either.

yah dr garcia i was on that day...weird someone else i met that day hasnt heard anything and the same goes for like 2 others on sdn...must be something weird with our interview day? At least it makes me think we still have a chance and for whatever reason, we are just being delayed. That or all 4-5 of us just really suck haha😛
 
Hi all,

I interviewed in the first week of November and was told that my group wouldn't hear back until January. This seems normal since our 6-8 week period falls right in the middle of the holidays... Maybe this is the case for some late October people as well. I wouldn't worry about hearing back until mid-January.

OK, premedoenophile. I'll take your word. Funny how I always used to avoid SDN bec it always made me feel hopeless and inadequate; now i feel supported. Maybe its just this forum in particular and a test to the coolness factor of (wannabe) Davis students. Thanks a lot.

I'm going to the Philippines for the first time next week (woohoo!!) and will enjoy every bit of my trip without any fear of rejection! Thanks for taking the burden off my shoulders. Sure would be nice to get that ultimate Xmas gift in the next couple days, though!!! 😉
 
Does anyone know around when they send out info about student hosts and the interview schedule, etc?

I emailed Davis and they just told me "later" but my interview is right after new years and I doubt anyone will be in after this week.

I received a confirmation e-mail along with the list of student host contact info about a week before my interview. The day's schedule will be revealed on the interview day itself. Some people in my group stayed on campus 8am-3pm with no gaps in the schedule. Others stayed 8am-5pm with some 1-hr gaps in between appointments. Typically, you will have 2 interviews. (Maybe more for PRIME or MD/PhD ??) Good luck!

Also I know there were a few of us waiting from the sept group so hopefully you get some sort of news soon!🙂 Just because you havnt been accepted doesnt mean you are out of the running apparently 🙂.

Yah it sucked but like i always say until you get that rejection letter you just gotta hope. Probably wont be seeing you at UCI but you are going to get into UCSF anyways 😉

Thanks Segovia! Right now Davis is my top pick, I've already started looking for apts on craigslist in times of procrastination. We shall see how this crazy process ends...

Arg, they still haven't emailed me student host info and there are no hotels near Davis according to Kayak. I have my interview in a week, getting antsy.

There is a marriot hotel literally <1 mins walking distance from the building your are interviewing at. I stayed there on my day. Just in case you need it heres the hotel i stayed at. Like I said its literally a 1 min walk (hotel is nice too) to the med school campus from the hotel. You can see the med school building from your window super close its awesome!! Also if you needed a ride to the hotel or back to the airport its only 20 dollars if you use 1800 bluevan. Dont take a taxi🙂

I interviewed in October and also haven't received any decision yet. I was surprised to learn when I called today that the committee has not even reviewed my file yet. They are falling behind again this year just like previous years. I hope I get in because I would love to stay in my hometown school. Best of luck to everyone waiting!!

I'm still waiting to hear from Davis, but this morning I received 19 emails from AMCAS, all delivered between 2 and 20 minutes apart. Then I received one from the Certiphi people (I've been accepted at another school). Did anyone else received several emails from AMCAS?
 
yes, i think i got two. someone in the BU thread got 17, i think. i don't know what this means...i wouldn't think too much about it.
 
Yeah I just got the background check email from AMCAS yesterday!
 
so i'm guessing jan is the last month for inerview invites? yikes 🙁

I got invited in late November for an early March date. Since you have not been rejected, there is still a chance you can be invited for a late March date...but after that...

i completed the background check last night. ive been accepted at other schools, so i dont know which school(s) the background check is for though...

and this question is for accepted students who are still in school:
should we send the office an email with this past semester's grades as an update? or do we send in an official transcript...or nothing?

you have to send in official transcripts that have your degree posted on them. your school's registrar should be able to assist you so this happens. this info is also in the acceptance email.
 
Hey everyone I know someone asked this question a while back but I don't think anyone responded. Has anyone who interviewed for Rural PRIME been accepted/waitlisted/rejected or heard anything recently?

Is there a deadline to submit transcripts by? I finished undergrad this past December, but my school will not be posting my degree until about March... UCs are soooo slow!

Hmmm...residency form is due june 30th...but I don't see a due date for the transcript listed in the acceptance email. I bet they are understanding because some ppl won't have their degree posted until June. You could call tomorrow just to make sure if you're nervous about it.
 
i always wonder...how come some people submit their secondaries or did their interview early yet they have not heard from adcom before those who submitted late or did their interview later? should they be reviewed in order?

you would think that adcoms would work in a logical way - first in first out in terms of decisions. but this thread, as well as many others, are full of examples of decisions being made irrespective of interview dates. look at elijah05 et al who interviewed in sept and just found out! apparently it was an issue with the computer systems (if i remember correctly from earlier in the thread). another reason could be how soon your interviewer(s) turned in the evaluation(s). oh to be a fly on the wall of adcom meetings!!

I called this morning and they told me that it would be fine to send my official transcript in March, when my degree will be posted. So I don't think there is a due date, besides getting the transcript in before matriculation...
