A post earlier said that UC Davis only interviews up to end of January. That means the last few interview invites will go on till December

Too bad, I guess the three years i spent working at their hospital didn't help 🙁

ah gotcha. well, you never know until you get the little skinny envelope. I was complete 10/30 so I'm still holding out hope.
 
When do people that interviewed in October expect to hear from Davis. Good luck everybody!!

Yeah, that's why I expect the axe. Not too heartbroken about it though. It is what it is.
 
I coulda sworn I saw a few posts saying people had interviews scheduled for February.

when i was at my inteview they said they planned to interview until feb and they were already in the process of filling dec/jan dates. This was a while ago too. Id assume that for the most part everyone whos getting an interview has gotten one at this point. There will probably stil be a few going out but davis doesnt interview a lot of people and by now im sure they are at the late jan or feb dates. Though of course this could change as i interviewed a while back.

what do they say? Like i said take it with a grain of salt im just saying what i was told at my interview day. Things alwasy change and im sure they have 🙂
 
So if the interview scheduling thing shows no dates, you just wait it out until they add more slots?

Interviewed on 10/2 and got accepted early in November.
 
Malayna--did you interview for Rural Prime or was it the regular MD program?

I'm in the same boat as a few others--interviewed on 10/5 for Prime and haven't heard anything...
 
Rejected today Pre-Interview via the status page (at the bottom).

"Application declined - no longer under consideration 12/01/2009"

Same, first UC rejection, but was totally expecting it.
 
Huh. Davis rejected me pre-interview but UCLA offered me an interview. WTF, UC?

you guys have any idea why you were rejected? in my case, i suspect it's how long it took me to get secondary in :[

Seriously. Count mine as another one in there... complete 8/28, rejected pre-interview 12/1.

I'm just glad I decided to drop that calculus class I was taking specifically to meet UCD's requirements. If I had stuck with it and gotten this letter today... I woulda shot someone. +pissed+
 
Pre-interview rejection here as well. My first word back from a UC... this kinda sucks.

I was complete back in mid-September, for those who are interested.

I feel you on that. I got rejected post-secondary today too. What a crap shoot this is. haha

I interviewed at UCSF, UCLA, & UCSD. Are there many others on SDN experiencing this too? I interviewed early at the other UCs, but talking among the other interviewees this seems to happen quite a bit.

How did we get screened out at UCD before an interview? I'd like to think that Davis looked at my app and said "Wow! This guy is just too amazing for us! We shouldn't give him an interview because he will be getting a full ride scholarship to Hopkins and Harvard." But, I don't think that was the case. It just goes to show how random this process is lol

My guess is that Davis looked at my application and realized that unless they gave me a full ride, there's nothing that would make me live in Sacramento for four years. Count me in with the others that interviewed at the other UCs, but got hosed by UCD and UCI. Whatever.

But yeah, I live in Davis :meanie:

I live in SF and was pleasantly surprised by Sacramento. I wandered around for a few hours after my interview and liked a lot of what I saw. Plus, wine country and Tahoe are both near! Sure, there are parts of town that are really unattractive - at least to me- but I had the good fortune of finding "midtown" which is a grid of about 10 blocks by 10 blocks of mixed-used buildings, tree-lined streets, etc. It was only a 5-10 minute drive from campus, too, and that's definitely where I would live should I have the fortune of being accepted to UCD (interviewed 11/4).

Yep, Midtown, East Sac and even Elmhurst around UCDMC are great.

I'm somewhere in the middle. I interviewed at Davis and SF, am on "hold" at SD, and am waiting to hear from Irvine and LA (secondaries turned in kind of late). I think the schools have slightly different ideas of what they want in students and that accounts for most of this.
 
Rejected too. At least you some of you guys have other UC interviews to pad the pain. I on the other hand, am getting ripped apart by California.😡

Same thing here! I had early interviews at UCSF and UCLA, UCSD isn't until Feb, but also just got rejected from UCD. Oh well...I already have some acceptances elsewhere so definitely not so panicky anymore. Hope we get some good news soon from the UCs we did interview at and congrats to everyone who has received a UCD acceptance thus far 😀
 
blueelmo, i remember you from somewhere... did you take the 9/5/2008 MCAT?
 
Rejected...so much for my "safety" UC. I hope the California budget deficit forces the state to close this school. Yea I'm bitter

Calm down buddy.

And they would probably close down about 6 more UC campuses before they would close down Davis....
