I'm getting sick of these under review, pending, and on hold messages.
 
So today marks 1 month since I got their secondary e-mail. and my file is still NOT complete. I have an AMCAS fee waiver and on the payment page it says payment not required. but on the status page the payment received area is still blank! I called and the admissions person said not to worry about it.... uhhh...dude i hope my file doesn't expire. thats weaaak.

i used my fee waiver, and my field is blank too... but i'm marked complete on the website. maybe they're just extremely busy.
 
Just scheduled interview for 9/23. So early, but I wanted some practice before UCSD, hopefully I can see some of you there.

So my secondary, fee payment, and letters of recommendation show up as received, but it doesn't say "application complete" yet. Is it just because they are busy?

they are super busy right now, but its not big deal they will mark it eventually. As always you can always call if super paranoid.
 
I talked to an admissions lady (very kind btw) and she said they had an in-house process for applications to be marked complete. I think that means that its a manual rather than electronic process. She said it was going to take a while (they had tons of applications to process) and if you weren't marked complete within the four week time frame it was fine. She said it was on them after you submit your secondary so you won't be penalized for the fact that they are just super busy.

thank you so much. just wanted to let you and other people in our situation know the info i got from the office today. she said to turn in the student portion of the secondary and fee by the month deadline, and assign the letters you want ucisom to receive, excluding the one that isn't in yet. ucisom will download the letters after you submit. as soon as the delayed letter comes in, assign it to uci and update the letters page and that will tell them to download the new letter. if that new letter isn't in by the deadline, no biggie, but still do it asap because you don't want them to start reviewing you without it, and you don't want to delay being complete either!

she also chuckled a bit when i wanted to confirm that submitting a letter late wouldn't automatically dismiss my application. in a nice way though 😳
 
i'm complete 8/11. hopefully i hear some good news like my fellow bear :luck:
 
rejected today on the status page...i guess they didn't drag it out...
 
I called them today because my letters have not been downloaded and its been 2 weeks and I was wondering about being complete, and the lady told me i will download those for you and took my AMCAS #, but stupid me forgot to ask about being complete. Anyhow, i thought it was weird that she they would just do that. Did they forget or something. sounds scary no?
 
This seems lazy of me but I don't want to go read through the entire thread.

I have a letter packet...the instructions seemed kind of vague regarding how to enter it in. Was I supposed to just write the Advisor and institution for the spaces and write "LETTER PACKET"? Or enter the letters individually?

Just spazzing because it's one of the last schools to have me complete.
 
Okay, I have a question for all of you who received secondaries. I just logged on to UCI to check my status, and whereas before in the box under "Secondary Awarded" it used to say "Pending Review" it is now blank. I also realize I have access to the secondary on the panel to the left. I did not receive an email invitation, nor does it note the date the secondary was awarded.

I am assuming I should go ahead and fill out the secondary, but is it typical to get one without being notified via email?

It's not typical to get a secondary without an email. If you can fill out the secondary, it wouldn't hurt to get started on it, but you should call the office to double check before clicking submit.

Yeah, makes sense. I figured I'd wait until tomorrow to see if I get an email about it in the morning, and then call if I don't hear anything.

I would still wait... I was awarded an interview last week but still haven't gotten an email about it. Their email server might be a bit behind. It's better than somehow losing your money because the system wasn't ready for you.

That sucks man.. I hate seeing someone else from Tulare County getting a rejection. God knows the area needs more physicians. Keep your head up.

blueelmo, when did you get the email saying your app had been received by irvine?

i got that email a while ago aug 3, but haven't heard anything from them since...and now i'm paranoid

edit-presecondary i mean. unless you got a secondary in which case nm

I got the "app received e-mail" in mid July and my status still says "Pending Review" for awarding the secondary app.

In case anyone else was wondering, I just received the email from UCI regarding a secondary invite. I guess I simply beat them to the punch when I checked my status earlier.
 
I still have the pending status... Has anyone received the secondary after having a pending status? It seems most people who get UC secondaries get it with their acknowledgement email, but if we don't get it right away does that mean we are most likely rejected?

nope, UCI was the first school I added when I submitted in early june, I was verified late june. I had pending review from that point until today. I just got my MCAT score last week though, so that may have been part of the hold up.

No. Pending means pending. I think they are sending them in batches?
 
Received interview invite by email and status at 6pm today!!!! finally!!!

Signed up for 9/23 as well so i guess i will see all you other SDNers there!! 👍

IS, Complete 7/30.
 
have any out-of-staters received a secondary yet? should i just pretty much kiss my chances goodbye if im out-of-state?

UCI takes almost zero OOS, you should have kissed your chances goodbye before you even applied here. Unless u applied md/phd...then maybe things are ok as i believe there isnt a huge preference when it comes ot that.
