Just received my invite for 2/22. I was an MSTP applicant and received my rejection a couple weeks ago.
Alright I just had my interview yesterday and I am already sick of waiting, I feel really sorry for you who interviewed back in September! At least they hand out about half of their interviews in March, so they say. But March 30th can not come soon enough! How did the other 1/8 interviews go?
I am still waiting to see what is going to happen with my app here--- you say they hand out half their interviews in march? I was complete end of september, and haven't heard anything since... do you know when they hand out most of their rejections pre-interview?

Also, if you think you're interviewing for a wait list spot, that's not a bad thing I don't think! The lady at the interview also said something about for the past however many years (I don't remember the exact number but quite a while) everyone from the alt 1 waitlist has been accepted! It's the alt 2 that is very iffy, and alt 3 she said no one has ever been accepted from. Hope that helps! If anyone needs anything else the interview is still fresh in my mind so I can try and help!
Last year, not everyone from alt 1 got in. That was the only year in like the past 20 that it's happened, but it might happen again this year with the way the economy looks.
I've heard a number of IS students getting calls for short-notice interviews though.
I recall hearing Dr. Wagner saying that all of the Alternate 1's for In-state were accepted last year and only 1 person from the Alt 2 list. However, there are out-of-state alternate lists as well and that may be what you're referring to.
You know what, I wrote that wrong I'm sorry! I meant they hand out half of their acceptances in March (That's what the lady at the interview said) I'm really sorry i said that wrong! And as for rejections, I actually don't think they tell you if you're rejected until that date in March (They said the date would be the 30th or 31st at the interview). But I wouldn't get too discouraged yet, it seems like a lot of people also get short notice interviews, especially as others are getting acceptances to the schools that they want to go to and are cancelling their interview dates at UCD! so that makes the "half the acceptances are handed out in March" kind of a positive thing!

For those who got accepted; Have you received any information on the different tracks you applied for? And have you sent in your tuition deposit? Thanx
Good luck to all the accepted applicants. I'll be in next year's pool (taking the MCAT in a few short months).
I was just wondering if anyone knows what the daily schedule is like for first and second years at Colorado? For example, at some schools required class attendance time is approximately 8am-1pm each day, leaving afternoons free for self study. At other schools it's quite a bit more. I'm just wondering what the schedule's like at Colorado and also whether lectures are typically recorded for viewing at home?
Thanks in advance.

Man I still haven't heard anything from this school and I have been complete since September I believe...are they still handing out many interviews?

Hey Sleight, I wouldn't be too worried yet. Colorado seems to have no problem giving out short notice interviews, and as the season goes on I'm sure people will be dropping their interviews with Colorado as they get acccepted to other places that are higher on their list! The interviews go into March I believe, so there is still time!
They also don't have a problem giving late acceptances either! So no interviewing for the waitlist. No matter when you interview, you still have a shot!
The thread has been dead for a couple days now! Any news? Btw, is it usually the last wednesday or so of the month that they send out acceptances? Anybody know? I know I read it somewhere but I don't remember where and don't feel like going back and re-reading everything!
I'm not completely sure about wiche states but here is what I know about acceptances and funding. When it comes to acceptances and the wait list, there are two lists, in state and out of state. They maintain a relative ratio of in state to out of state and so will offer acceptances so that they keep the ratio consistent. As for funding, you either fall into a sponsored or accountable student. Sponsored students are those who are in state or have some sort of exchange like the wiche, while nonsponsored are normal OOS students.
As for qualifications for wiche or any other exchange program, from what I have understood this is handled through your home state. When I interviewed, there was mention of one state pullling its funding and participation from wiche and other exchange programs. Your best option would be to contact admissions/ financial aide and they will most likely know where to direct you.
Unless I'm mistaken WICHE states are still considered OOS but their individual state picks up the tab for the Accountable student fee. Therefor the individual student only ends up paying IS tuition rates.
Does anyone know when the admissions committee will meet to discuss the January interviewees and the final decisions yet or not? I haven't seen any acceptances on here yet, and I know they only give a few out a month, but I figure some of us have a good shot. I know that I interviewed with a lot of really great people! 😀 Surely some of us will get in before March!!![]()
Because of your signature, I'm a little surprised that you're so interested in CU.
I think he is confused because your signature says that you are a member of the MSUCOM class of 2014. Now, many people would wait until they decided to attend said school before posted that. Hence, confusion.
I interviewed on January 8th! And I am in state! I will be when school starts at least!
Congrats Default!
Does anyone know of a FB group for the CU accepts? It sure would be nice to network a bit prior to second look.
I have no idea what your situation is or anything, but be careful here.... Colorado requires that you be a resident before acceptance, not before matriculation. Meaning you have to have presence in the state for a year, have a driver's license (and a registered vehicle), and be paying taxes prior to acceptance. Just FYI.
Does anyone know when they are going to have the tuition deposit stuff up? Also, when is second look?
