All sounds good to me! Thoughts?
Best of luck to those still waiting!

does anyone know where online i can find the latest match list for uconn? thanks
Hey Eeyore. They gave us a copy of UConn's Match List during the interview. I do not have the time to type the entire thing out so I'll list how many people went into each specialty and a couple notable places some students placed.
Anesthesiology: 7 people; UConn, Mt Sinai NYP Hosp (Cornell), UVA
Derm: 1 person
Emergency Medicine: 2 people; Yale and BI Deaconess med Cnt
Family Medicine: 7 people; UConn, University of Rochester, UVA
General Surgery- Preliminary: 3 people; UConnx2 Brown
General Surgery: 4 people; NYU, UConn
Internal Medicine: 10 people; Yale, Baystate (Tufts), UConn, Mass General, U Mich, Duke
Medicine-Pediatrics: 2 people; U Rochester and Brown
Medicine-preliminary: 2 people; Yale and UConn
Medicine-primary: 2 people; U Wash and Yale
Neurology: 3 people; Johns Hopkins, Tufts and University of Rochester
OBGYN: 6 people; UConn, Brown, North Shore
OMFS: 2 people; UConn x2
Orthopaedic Surgery: 2 people
Otolaryngology: 2 people; BU and Tufts
Pediatrics: 10 people: UConn x4 Yalex3, Maine Medical Center, Brown, Oregon
Phys Medicine and Rehab: 1 person; VCU
Plastic Surgery: 1 person; UMass
Psychiatry: 2 people; Hartford Hospital and UNorth Carolina
Radiology-Diagnostic: 4 people; UConn, Einstein
Surgery-urology: 1 person UPMC (UPitt)
Overall I think the residency placements are very impressive. I think the 2006 match list is up somewhere on SDN as well. I also remember on my interview the Dean telling us that anesthesiology is a popular specialty at UConn because the teachers are exceptional. I hope this helps.
still no ophtho matches =( can someone explain to me if OMFS (Oral and maxillofacial surgery) residency is for the med students or dental students? i thought this was a dental specialty that could only pursued with a DDS/DMD.
forgot to say... THANKS ziggydoc!
I emailed Dr. Sanford and he said that the January/February group should hear back at the end of March. However, I've also heard that ~170 offers are already given out.
I completed my app in October and was offered an interview Oct. 28, but for some reason I wasn't given an interview date until January 22nd. I have pretty high stats... 13/11/11, 3.8 in BME, tons of research exp. (including first author paper) and some decent shadowing, plus some interesting jobs throughout college. I felt that my stats were good enough to get into UConn, but maybe it's a super competitive class this year due to the economy and such.
So basically, UConn gave away all (or almost all) of its spots very early, and we are stuck fighting over the leftovers. But it's a state institution, so maybe there will be lots of withdrawals as super-premeds get into better schools.
im curious to know where he got his info too.... i interviewed this month and one of the admin guys (not sanford) told me specifically that the class isnt full... he even went as far as to say something absurd like we (the group interviewing sooo late in march) had a "better" chance of being accepted. he didnt go into details and i didnt want to call him out for being a liar, so i didnt ask wtf he was talkin about. but i would surely take it as a slap in the face if the class is indeed full.
Has anyone heard about Financial Aid yet? Should we already have done the Fafsa? Does anyone know anything about the process or the time line to apply?
Is "high alternative" status just a fancy word for waiting list? Thanks.

got put onto the high waitlist, found out this morning via e-mail. Interviewed in November
wtf?! you interviewed in november and today was the first time u heard anything from them?! i was under the impression that they had a ~6-8 week wait time, although i did notice that a few people were accepted in less than two weeks post-interview.
High alternate list for me. If I don't hear anything by graduation (May 9), I'll start working on next year's application to submit immediately in June.
Just got the call today!! Uconn MD/PhD here I come!!! The waiting is FINALLY over!
since they waited till today to start telling people where they stand on the waitlists, should we assume all interviews are done and all the waitlists are finalized? has anyone who interviewed in march received any waitlist emails today? also, im curious to know if they have rejected anyone post-interview?
Cancer p53, did your status ever change to high alternate status?
Not really sure, I haven't ever checked my status. I did get the e-mail from Keat Sanford last week if that's what you're referring to, but I'm technically still on the high alternate status for MD since MD/PhD is separate.
eey0re, yes people who have interviewed in march received waitlist emails....they are also rejecting applicants post-interview, just not sure at what rate.....................
thanks se7en! so if i interviewed in mid-march and i havent heard back yet, should i be worried? and correct me if im wrong, but it seems that waitlist and rejections come via email and acceptances come via snail mail (or phone call for md/phd)?

I was accepted before Christmas. I received the acceptance letter in the mail. I sent in my deposit. Then nothing. I looked up the finaid and sent it in. Am I suposed to send in a formal document saying I am going there? Is there a special form? Does this form come with the aid package? Has anyone gotten an aid package? Confused..................
Thanks PlayHockey247. I am still confused. Is there a form they send us that we have to fill out saying we accept their offer or do we just write an acceptance letter to Dr. Sanford? And............if there is a special form, where do we get it? Mail? Email? Website?
The deadline for financial aid has past. According to what my email said all documents were due April 16th. I would 100% call Financial Aid asap because you might be in trouble otherwise. I'd even consider stopping by personally to talk with admissions to make sure they consider you an accepted student. It sometimes is difficult to contact them via email or phone, so this might be your best shot.
Best of luck.
