um. are the three interviews separate?

my premed advisor told me the UIC interview is a panel interview- like 3 people interviewing you at once. i thought this sounded odd. is he right?😕

In preparing for my interview I came across some feedback entries at other campuses where it seemed to be more of a panel...I believe at Peoria maybe? But I don't remember how recent that was or what the deal is at the other sites...but like QuinnWatson said at chicago you have 3 separate 30 min interviews.

thanks guys . . . i will definitely drop my advisor an email to tell him this. because i think i almost hurled when he told me that.

And good luck to you guys waiting for the news, i am sure it will be good! :xf:

Thanks, good luck on your interview!!! It's extremely conversational and nothing to worry about...

YESSS. Not to mention the taunting status, lol

my packet (hopefully) or letter has to make it all the way to the east coast so I probably should check a day or two after the rest of you lol...

did anybody else apply to the UMED program? I received an email saying that it's very competitive and they receive over 100 applications...but I can't tell if that is from all applicants (since I obviously sent in my application before I was offered an interview) or 100 applications of the students eventually accepted.

Anyone with Final Decision got the packet yet? I'm still at work... dying to know if USPS got it in today.

I live about 20mi away from UIC and did NOT receive anything in the mail today even though I do have the status change... booo USPS

...ironically I did receive my Loyola info because they sent it first class on the 15th, lol

nope nothing at my place. I live 30 minutes from UIC.

This wait really sucks. 🙁

I usps. I hate usps. I hate usps.

Actually im starting to think UIC just sent it.

Guys, relax. Those with "final decision" notifications, you will be receiving acceptance packets in due time. There are a lot of forms they stuff in that packet. Most likely the packets went out Friday or will be sent out today. So expect something this week, be patient. You know what your decision is so your anxiety should be less now, right?

I called UIC about my status (interview 9/22, still says "Decision Pending", no e-mails or anything) and I was told something about not hearing until the end of this month because only early decision applicants have heard.

Are all the people with final decision statuses early decision?

I feel like that lady did not know what she was talking about. I can't stand this admissions department, I wasn't even informed of my interview until I called one day to ask about my application. No e-mail, status change, or snail mail. They sent me a letter after I called.

Christ.

No, definitely not early decision for me. I'm pretty sure GodisGood12 and BBender are not EDP either, as I've seen them on other school threads.

Hopefully you'll hear from UIC soon anyway. :luck:

You know something that we don't know! :meanie:

No EDP for me, either. But it IS kind of weird that you haven't received an email or anything, yet.

not edp. Dude call again, i think the lady isnt aware of the fact that the admissions committee met already.

Maybe she was like me thinking that there were only four Thursdays in October. What she said, sounds like what I had been saying ... and I was wrong. lol I would def look into this.

not early decision either...

oh well, I'll be out of town for the next two days so I won't be able to neurotically check my mail by default...(I'm sure I'll check this to see if the rest of you got it tho)

That's a rather inflexible screen name if you ever choose to change your avatar... lol

i interviewed 10/14 and my status today went into decision pending.. i know this doesn't mean anything but still... progress 🙂 i'd love to go here!

Me, too! UIC is my top choice for sure!!! Maybe we will be future classmates! 😀

I didnt get anything in the mail.

Aaaandd another day of waiting..

No mail for me either. lsmdklamsdkamsd! Why am I so impatient? Why don't I have an answer to that question? Why don't I have the answer to why I'm so impatient NOW?! Gah!

what campuses did you all with decidions interview at?

I was Peoria early October and also still have "Decision Pending"

How do they make decisions anyway? Does each campus have their own AdComs and decide on the applicants they interviewed? Or do all the recommendations and evaluations go to the Chicago campus?

lol, Brett, you aren't allowed to be this impatient. Not to be a hater, but didn't you already get accepted to Loyola?!?! By the way, I only know your name because we totally interviewed together. 🙂

I'm just messing man. That was my poor attempt at satire, lol Damn man, who were you again? My name isn't Brett, but close, lol.

lol ... Brett, Bob, Bill, same thing. (Creeped out, yet?) I was the only girl in your group, if that helps.

Still "Decision Pending", no letters or e-mail.

I'm just going to relax.

I interviewed at Chicago campus on Oct 9th...my guess is that everything goes through Chicago

Wow, last 3 pages are all people who have gotten interviewed already.

Anyone flat out denied pre-interview yet? Or is everyone either interviewed or just hanging out at "applicant in progress"

interviewing soon 🙂

and for those of you still waiting . . . man, it sucks. this will be my first interview so i know the wait is going to kill me too once it's my turn. i hope you hear something TODAY!

I have "Applicant in Process." I'm just hoping I hear something before November.

i am getting nervous! and the UIC interview feedback entries from this cycle are pretty sparse . . .

those of you who interviewed already, is it really laid back as they say? what were the hardest/most interesting questions you got asked?:scared:

edit to add- i am interviewing in chicago, so i know that makes a small difference in the interview format.

i had 3 interviewers at the same time (2 profs, 1 M4).. and even though it was supposed to last around 30 mins... mine went to 45 because i was the last one to go and we had a great talk going 🙂

it was pretty laid back. mostly questions about me, healthcare, and one "scenario" which i thought was pretty easy.

also, i interviewed in rockford so maybe it's different in other places...
