still decision pending here too. man if i got rejected that would suck because i thought all my interviews were great. (not just that i thought i did well, but i actually enjoyed them all and liked my interviewers.)

i think i was pretty much in the first group of people to interview between the last committee meeting and this most recent one . . . maybe that just means i am at the bottom of the pile?? :xf: for those who got their status update already when were your interviews- recent or kind of a while ago?
 
Man still "application in process" after 2.5 months. I seriously think my status page is broken. :laugh:

Yeah I dunno. 😕 The entire state of Illinois hasn't paid much attention to my application though. I'm dying to visit Chicago.
 
Just got a status change! Final decision is made...allow 2 weeks for correspondence through snail mail. Don't call until then because we won't answer you if you call before 2 weeks.

Now it's time to keep waiting :xf:
 
I just got the status change too and I was decision pending yesterday and this morning so they must have just been slow. To all those who checked this morning, go check right now for the status update.
 
so it just took a little while for everyone else to get updated...I thought only 2 status changes seemed low (keeping in mind obviously not everyone uses sdn)! Congrats everyone!!...if you got the status change post interview you should probably receive your package by the end of next week depending on how far from chicago you are and when they actually mail it. I think our packets were mailed the following Tuesday-ish and some people got it as early as Wednesday. 👍

Just make a ****ing decision, UIC. Don't string me out for six months.

Still "Decision Pending". 9/22 interview.

A final decision was made on your application on . Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone.

And this is pre-interview...which means i'm done...SUCKS!!!!

does everyone have the "additional correspondence" tab on top? including the pre-interview final decisions?

Man I got the same status... Bummer, I thought I would at least get an interview :/
 
geez tons of status changes today. maybe that means they're finally slogging through some of the backlog.
 
ugh mine has not changed yet . . . now i cant tear myself away from this computer, i keep checking and checking. come on UIC! 🙁

I'm in the same boat and I did call about 3 weeks ago. The woman I spoke with was very short with me and basically that they have all my materials and my status page will change when the review my app/(hopefully) invite me for an interview.
 
still decision pending,,,, come on .... please please make a decision... UIC

seriously...i expected at least some love from my state school. i didn't know they rejected people this early though
 
sorry to be a broken record, but can we safely assume that final decision + additional correspondence tab = acceptance?

yes...I wouldn't go updating your fb status until you get the actual package but I think you are all sitting pretty good right now. 👍

Nobody has posted about receiving final decision post-interview w/o an acceptance so far. I think as long as it isn't after May 1 that generally = acceptance...
 
lol I think everyone checking this thread broke the status page. It won't open for me now saying that service is temporarily unavailable due to "capacity problems". Way to go SDNers! 👍

lol quite possible...it just worked for me so try again!

I'm trying to see if they updated my transcripts but I guess they have more important things to do 😛

haha i enjoy that we measure how official something is by whether or not it goes on facebook 🙂

and do people who get final decisions that are rejections NOT get the Add'l Corr. tab?

lol I'm just saying! I wouldn't exactly advertise it to everyone. I'm not sure about rejections, nobody has really commented on the tab pre-interview. I know when I explained why I thought I had gotten accepted via the SDN code from the status change he wasn't exactly jumping for joy...he's more of a factual person and was like "umm let me know when you get something in the mail instead of reading tea leaves".

Dude I got the exact same message (pre-interview, too). This doesn't make any ****ing sense- I'm 3.9, 31S, in-state, and we've got similar ec's.

Surely we can't be rejected. I thought we were over-qualified for our state school?!

Dude I completely agree... My stats are near yours, and I have an overload of EC's/Research/Volunteering, I'm pretty shocked to say the least... I had a Rush interview though, which doesn't make much sense because Rush interviews more selectively than UIC... I guess that just goes to show you how random this process can be

So that means that I'll be strung out until May 1 when they finally decide to reject me for whatever arcane reason that I've been racking my brain to discover.

I honestly thought that I killed my interviews. In-state, 3.6, 35MCAT, tons of ECs.

Just make a ****ing decision.
 
No offense, and I hate to ask, but don't you think that they may have seen into a certain part of your character? I mean, looking at all of your posts from this month and last month, I just feel as though something is not right. I am sure that this whole application process is a killer, but still. I hope that you find your way.

when u guys say additional correspondance, you just mean the tab is there right? like, you can't click on it, yet it's sitting next to the date in which you confirmed interview, way on the far right.


or am i missing something? i have this: (i put in the Xs)

Hmm what do you mean? Or was this not directed to me... But I do see where you're going, I'm sure most schools have specific qualities they look out for in the application alone, separate from the interviews, and most admissions reps are probably 'experts' with it almost... From what I've been seeing, it's a lot about 'fit of the school'

to elizandry I don't think it matters, I can't remember if I had a date there immediately.
 
Congrats to everyone who had decisions made yesterday/today. It must be a great feeling. Unfortunately I am still waiting word. I'm growing to dislike two words very much: "Decision Pending."

i interviewed on the 11th at rockford, if that helps. maybe it depends on the campus you interviewed at? maybe there were just a lot more interviewees at your site? plus, i don't know how coordinated the different campuses/adcomms are. i don't know if they all have to send their final decisions to the uic campus before updating our statuses or if each campus does it separately... so that might be why there's a delay, too.

i guess i'm receiving a pre-interview rejection as well. i am a re-applicant to UIC and wasn't offered an interview last year either. I can't figure out what it is about me they don't like. I got a 35N on my re-take with a 3.67 cGPA and 3.75 sGPA, i have both basic and clinical research experience and i have volunteered and shadowed. I also have acceptances from a DO school already so can't be a red flag in my application right?

I'll never be able to understand this process. Anyways, Congrats to those who got in and those receiving interviews. Hopefully, I hear something from Rush and Loyola soon.
 
Sorry to those of you who received a pre-interview rejection. Out of curiosity, when were ya'll complete, b/c I've been waiting for 3 months...and would really like to hear something.
 
Post-interview Final Decision Made. All those pre-interview rejections scares me.
 
It says I can't check my status because the website is down for routine maintenance. It then says that this should only be the case on Tues and Thurs. Anyone else getting this message?

i am glad i have one acceptance already otherwise i'd be losing my mind right now. still- i want to know. i liked uic.
 
lol looks like you guys did break it after all :laugh:

I think this was asked earlier but I'm pretty sure everything goes through Chicago...and there is only one adcom, not one at all 4 sites making separate decisions. All of the correspondence at this point is through the Chicago campus. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong!
 
omg omg post-interview final decision made. additional correspondence to be mailed.. does this FOR SURE mean acceptance???? i don't want to get my hopes up but yayy! first acceptance!

Final decision finally made. I hope all of the comments on here are correct about what that means.
At this point in the process what are the chances of being placed in Chicago? Not to get ahead of myself or anything..

I was wondering how many of us are IS vs OOS that have final decisions post-interview (or acceptances for the first group)...it seems like a lot of us are IS no?

aww man, sorry to hear that but hang in there!!! Remember you have ~70% chance and you interviewed early which is good! Hopefully they meet before Christmas and those of you still waiting for a decision hear good news soon!

I would imagine you still have a good chance this was only their second batch of acceptances!!! I'm not sure how many people want which campus. Obviously I would guess Chicago is most popular, but it's not what EVERYONE picks and it's still early. I was placed in Chicago but I remember speaking with individuals on my interview day who wanted Peoria and/or Rockford. Congrats though!
 
I didn't even realize i had an additional correspondence tab when i posted before, but its there!! Yay 🙂 Don't wanna get my hopes up, but possibly first acceptance!
 
Anyone got CBC email yet? I didn't receive it (yet), but I'm wondering if you got one?
