Rejected here as well

For those of you who have been rejected post interview or pre interview?...is there still any hope for us who are still praying for an interview? I just want to know if I should give up hope

Post interview

does anyone know how this waitlist works?
I went through the last 2 years threads and it seems quite nebulous.

it seems, there are two waitlists: a high priority and regular list. It also seems that people who interviewed before January only got the regular, whereas interviewees in the second semester could be placed in either.

In 2009, 2010, some were accepted off the high priority, but almost no one was accepted from the regular.

so does this mean that if you interviewed in January, were regular waitlisted, you're totally screwed? Does anyone know someone who was waitlisted in January and accepted later? or had their waitlist status changed to high priority?
GAHHH!!!!😕

That's pretty much the conclusion I came to. I'm not very happy. It seems whenever an interviewer tells me he's sure I'll get in (or something similar), I don't. This is the fourth school where this has happened to me.

will the email actually say "high priority waiting list"?

Just don't count on this school .. If you get in, you get in. If you don't, that is the luck of the draw.

I consider every waitlist a rejection ... That said, I would be very very happy to get in later. With this mentality, I can sleep better at night.

je6ch, it doesn't say it outright, but a couple years ago it said something like they were still interested in you as a candidate and that if you are very interested in them (1st/2nd choice) to tell them.

we don't know what this year's high-priority WL email will say because they are only given to post-january interviewees... also, who knows!, they could change up the system this year... kinda hoping for that :scared:

The Einstein website states that the WL is unranked, so I'm not sure if there is a "high priority" and "regular" waitlist. They say there are 400 students placed on waitlist from Jan-May; the list is halved in May, knocked down to 50 in July, and 20 by orientation day. If AECOM is our number one choice, email and phone them by orientation day to inform them of that.

My gut instinct is that there isn't much WL movement, or hope since there are so many on the WL...but who knows?

Are interview invites still going out at this school?? been preliminary screening completed since late October....is this a silent rejection?

I sent an update letter in the hopes of getting an interview invite... For those of you who sent update letters, have you subsequently been invited for an interview? Do you think the letter had any bearing in the process? Thanks 🙂

I sent a letter of update/interest pre interview in mid-December on a Friday afternoon. The following Tuesday I received an invite. I do think my letter made a difference and sped up the process of receiving an interview although I cannot be sure! My invite was scheduled for mid-March so they are booked far in advance...if you are still hoping for an interview I would write a letter ASAP!

Can someone tell me the best way to get to AECOM in the morning from Manhattan? I'll be staying near Broadway and 31st street - I believe that's only a few blocks from Penn Station.

There is a bus line that runs through Manhattan and will drop you off RIGHT in front of where you will be going at AECOM. Sorry I don't remember the name but it is mentioned many times throughout this thread (bxm10, perhaps?). I stayed in Manhattan, but the closest stop to my hotel was a good distance away, so I thought it'd be easier to just spring for a cab to the Bronx. It ended up taking around 20-30 minutes to get a cab willing to drive out of Manhattan, and even then it was a private cab. I took the bus from AECOM back, and it really was incredibly convenient, pretty fast, and much cheaper. Long story short, bus is your best bet.

The BxM 10 isn't too far from your stop, since it's along Madison Ave (I believe). Head to mta.info to check the BxM10 Map/Schedule or click here: http://www.mta.info/busco/schedules/bxm10cur.pdf If it's far, take a cab to the nearest BxM10 stop. Make sure you either have 5.50 in coins or a MTA fare card for that value--the bus doesn't accept paper bills. The BxM10 will make stops that aren't listed on the schedule (in between those stops listed), so walk along Madison Avenue in eitiher direction until you come across a northbound bus stop with the BxM10 listed.

That's probably going to be the most cost-effective way to AECOM. Like the above poster said, cabs don't want to leave Manhattan..and don't take private cabs unless you have a car service reservation prior. Some cabs are unlicensed and are not the "safest" way to move about town.

wow, that's very deflating to read. I'm also nervous since I recently joined the "screening completed" club. It feels like I'm gonna be denied "further access".

Hi all,

Def a long time lurker. Interviewed on 9/24 and will be attending Einstein. Excited to meet the rest of the crew, is there an FB group?

OOS, 3.6, 32. I interviewed in September. Notified by email on Friday.

does albert einstein have 1 or 2 interviewers?

One!

For those who have already interviewed - does AECOM accept update/interest letters? If so, where and how did you send them in? Thanks + congrats to those who have been accepted!

Yes they welcome update letters via e-mail.

I interviewed 12/6 and I have the same status

I interviewed in the first half of December, and for the past week or so my status has been "Presenter's notes complete and ready for meeting"

This status came after "Interview report submitted"

Does anyone know if there is another status after "Presenter's notes complete...?"

Edit: As of tonight on 1/20 my status changed to "Status About To Change"... looks like the next round of decisions will be coming soon?

Eek, mine too. Nerve-wracking! Good luck everyone!!

Just received an interview invite for the end of March 🙂

Good luck!!

Just to add a data point - I interviewed the same day as Evergrey, 12/3. Admitted last Friday, 1/14, via email.

Congrats K! Any decisions on where you're headed next year yet?

Around what time of day did people's acceptance emails come? I have "status about to change" as well and the suspense is killing me!!!

+1. Maybe I'll see you there, I feel like we're interviewing for a spot on the wait list at this point, though.

+1. I just got preliminary screening completed maybe two days ago. Anyone know what status you get next or how long it takes for that invite after this?

Thanks! :luck:

from a few pages back, ppl have said ~1.5 months until screening completed to interview invite. That's a long time to be patient.

I'm just thinking logically now, but a rejection should be quick to deliver (ie. less than 1.5 months). They already know whether they want to invite you or not. So it's strange that I haven't heard anyone say that they've got the rejection notice right after the screening completed notice.

Considering people are already booking interviews for March and if it does take 1.5 months to get back to me after this status change, I'm guessing I have no chance of an interview. Oh well, this is when adding them late in the game was a huge mistake.

It's not always 1.5 months. I got an interview invite two and a half weeks after getting the "complete" email, let along screening completed status. There is hope!

I hope, I hope...

Do you mind telling when you were complete?

I was complete 8/26 and got an invite on 9/14 for early December...

Fairly early.

Anyway, the committee has made their decisions on all of us still with the screening completed status. They know what they're doing, so there's no reason to panic for interview dates. They'll tell us when they're ready for us (IF).

my status online says "About To Change"

any idea what that means if it's post-interview? or how long it will take before it does change?

My guess is that your fate has been decided. Mine changed a few days ago as well (post-interview). Last year, Einstein released the first batch of decisions on 1/15 and a second round on 1/29. The first round this year came 1/14, so I'm guessing we will hear at the end of next week for the second round... :xf::luck::xf::luck:

Do you think the 1/29 round of decisions will include 1/3 interviewees?

It's hard to tell from last year's thread. What's your status? If you don't have "Status About to Change" by this point, I would tend to think not...

I think I got that status in early December. I sent an update the first week of January and I think that made a difference in terms of getting the invite. :luck:
